We ended up sitting next to the wine fridge and got to interact with anyone who came by to grab a bottle from the selection they had. Food - Since this is curated menu and will constantly change, you will have to come with an open mind to try anything. Please notify your server if you have a food allergy; they were very accommodating to my table with my food allergy and notified the kitchen staff to not cross contaminate. The food was good and it was fun to be surprised with the menu of the day. We had a curry soup, hamachi crudo, surf & turf, and a chocolate dessert. Bill - this was the downfall for the night. Out of the 4 items on the bill, 3 of them were wrong. The price was listed on the menu but the charge on the bill was more; I called ahead to know the corkage fee (which i was told was $35) was charged $45; I also was charged for an extra glass of wine when ordered only one. Truly a one of a kind dining experience. Pricey but worth it. The wine pairing is super cool and the sommelier was very knowledgeable! The turkey breast Francese was phenomenal, hamachi crudo superb and some of the best dessert I ever had! They were able to modify the dishes to accommodate my husband who doesn't eat seafood. FINALLY! Been hearing about this place for a while by my best friend's family. When my BF came up for my birthday we finally made a point to go and what a birthday treat. All you order is your drink. I had two, and while the first was a bit too bitter for me, the Tea'D up was perfect and can only be described as the coziest drink I've ever had. Then comes the 5 course tasting menu. You're asked if there are any allergies or dietary restrictions because things can be altered. You can add a wine pairing for $55 which is a great deal. And for $118 per person for a tasting, you definitely get what you pay for. We did do an upgrade for a foie gras. Please don't judge me, this will probably be the last one I have. It was worth it though... Each course I can do on and on about. There was so much thought and detail to each dish. It really was so very special. Finally, the bathroom. Hidden Gem with Unforgettable Food & Service! I finally got to try eatMOSAIC--after driving past it countless times, I had no idea what I was missing! It's a charming, cozy restaurant with absolutely incredible food and top-notch service. We started with wine and cocktails. The experience is truly unique with way too much food for me. Instead of handing us menus, our waiter described what the chef was serving that evening and asked about our preferences and dietary restrictions (I requested no raw food). Each of the 5 course meals was a delightful surprise. The soup? Probably the best I've ever had--lemon chicken pea with fried eggplant, halibut, and onions. My girlfriend had sashimi in hers and she loved it. The farro salad was another standout--so flavorful and fresh. I also really enjoyed the turkey dinner, and while bison isn't something I'd normally go for, I was too full to try it by then (maybe next time!). Dessert capped the night perfectly--just wow. We went midweek, and it was quiet, which made the evening even more intimate. This review should truly be a four star but the food is delicious. A small suggestion: it would've been nice to receive a printed menu of what we were served--it's a lovely keepsake, especially with such a unique dining format. It was rather loud inside the dining room, making it difficult to hear what they are serving you. We never felt rushed which is important IMO. We added the wine pairing to our dinner which was VERY well chosen and explained as part of the experience.The food was all very fresh and tasty, things I wasnt familiar with and some that were very familiar but prepared in a new way. The portions were large for a 5 course menu, so my advice is to pace yourself, I was barely able to eat the last savory course, so def save room All this and on the way out the sommelier (?) gave us a bottle of wine to take home. Wanting to celebrate a special occasion, my girlfriend and I chose eatMosaic after reading about their 5-course tasting menu. We made a reservation for 5:30pm, which ended up working perfectly. The small and minimalistic interior was quiet during the early stages of our evening, growing more and more full of people and conversations as the night grew on. The staff were warm and professional, but there were hiccups along the way. At the beginning of our evening our table was brought another table's drinks. Later on, our third course was presented to us only for another waiter to come by moments after we had begun eating to apologize that they had forgotten an accompanying sauce and to shave truffle onto the dish. Throughout the course of the night I also felt some waiters were fumbling through the course descriptions (although a different waiter we had the same night nailed his presentations with us). Usually I wouldn't think twice of these occurrences, but the high price sets a different standard in my mind. Our drinks were delicious and food ever so fragrant upon presentation. The night started on a high note with our first course, but none of the later courses lived up to this for us. The delay between courses was long at times, but this worked somewhat to our advantage as we felt quite full by the end of the second course. Overall, I felt the dishes had more misses than hits. This is completely subjective and I'm sure other diners that same night were in awe of every course, but this wasn't the case for me. This was my first experience with a tasting menu and I love the surprise factor, but maybe they're not for me. At the end of the evening I asked for a printed copy of the night's menu. The bottom of this menu presents two options: $111 per person for full five course tasting menu or $130 total for full five course tasting menu (split). The split offering was never mentioned to us and, from what I can see, is not mentioned on their website (nor is it listed on printed menus available on their website). With my girlfriend and I already feeling full (and my wallet empty) by the end of the second course, this split option would have worked perfectly for us. We started off with a goat cheese savory type of pastry with white asparagus, pickled green tomato, mushroom, and gingerbread crumbs. That was my favorite. The second tasting included tuna with kimchi. Loved it. The third course was salmon with orecchiette. It was a bit underwhelming. The most interesting part of the third course was the salted grapes with capers. The fourth course included a Spanish style shrimp with cheesy rice. Dessert was great and included chocolate mousse (wish it didn't have crushed peppermint), a berry cobbler, and homemade chipwich. Overall, it was a nice experience and it's worth the try. This past Cinco de Mayo, my wife & I meet her BFF for a beer. Sheryl tells me, we have to go to eatMosaic. They're having a special dinner by serving dessert first! At first, I made a joke. Dessert first, golly! Come to find out, the reservation is for her birthday dinner. I can't say no to Sheryl, she looks like Mary-Louise Parker and has a sweet voice. Dessert first it is! Walking in early, I tell the staff its her birthday and gave them my credit card. I'm expecting the dessert course to have candles, nope. Dessert course: Very artistic plate but here's the thing with eatMOSAIC. There are so many different elements to each dish, they don't give menus! The waiter rattles off so many things, its hard to take it all in. There's a mini cheesecake along with pumpkin ice cream topped with coconut shavings. Then to the side, a chocolate truffle topped with a small macaron. Each individual item packs a chef'd up punch. Meat course: I'm assuming the tenderloin is Chateaubriand. What we all were served had a great sear and a nice pink center. Both flavorful cuts of love were placed over polenta. This dish had me swooning! Sooo good, kudos to the chef. (two other courses, I forgot what they were) Last course: The chef brought out empty bowls with spring peas and shaved celery. Then, he pours pureed beets into the bowl. Very very decadent dish, mixed with cream made this soup silky smooth and packed with flavor. Something to point out, eatMOSAIC allows you to bring a bottle of wine. They charge a $30 corking fee. I brought a bottle of Pinor Noir and so did Sheryl's boyfriend. We were charged $60 bucks?? eatMOSAIC, that's kinda uncool.. Can I suggest a $30 corkage fee per table?? Now its birthday time. The waiter brought out a single cupcake with a candle. I want coffee and to have a piece of birthday cake! We all watched as Sheryl enjoy her special dessert for one. eatMOSAIC, You could of thrown us three more cupcakes... But, Sheryl had a nice time on her birthday. We were looking for a place to have a celebratory dinner date and several friends, who know that my husband has a bottomless pit for a stomach, suggested the 5 course tasting menu at eatMOSAIC. We visited yesterday on a Saturday night right when it opened. First impressions were that it's a cute restaurant with a small bar area, main dining room, and outdoor dining space. We sat next to the interesting wine cabinet. Vibe felt polished yet casual, with servers wearing black fitted t-shirts and black jeans. The only somewhat negative aspect I could mention was that the conversation volume got loud at some points while we were dining so it was difficult to hear what the servers or sommelier were trying to say at times. We opted for the tasting menu and wine pairing per our friends' suggestions. I typically only eat two big meals per day while my husband can eat a lot. I was painfully full by the time we got home even though I began giving my husband half of my portions starting around the third course. He was satisfied. We were asked about any food preferences and allergies before our meal began. All of the courses were good but the real standout was the first course consisting of some sort of seafood cake, miso broth, pea shoots, and wood ears. It was just a dish and flavors that we don't encounter often and we really loved it. The other courses were cooked well, no complaints. It just didn't knock our socks off like the first one. Wine was about half a pour per course. I know next to nothing about wine but one of my top pet peeves is wine snobs. I was delighted to find the sommelier to be energetic, easy to talk to, and patient in giving us helpful pointers on how to enjoy the wines. Our friends took us here because they know we are foodies. Well they were so right about it! The food and atmosphere is so amazing. It reminds me of when I used to go to NYC to really exclusive restaurants like LeCirque 2000. The staff here is absolutely awesome and the chefs are the most creative and passionate people I have ever met. They love what they do, and get really excited about presenting their food tasting to see what people think. The five course tasting was not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Each dish was a work of art. Their wine list is reasonable and what you would expect from a nice restaurant, and their wines are delicious. We did get some by the glass which were also great. We were initially drawn to the tasting menu concept, as this is hard to find on Long Island. This restaurant was a bit of a surprise as many other restaurants that offer tasting menus are more intimate, this was definitely more casual. We were seated shortly after we arrived, with an 8:15PM reservation. The hospitality was on par and we expected nothing less. As we were waiting for our table, we were given the option to have a drink. We each had the tasting menu with the wine pairing. We started off with a Minestrone soup which was done really well. Next, we had the tuna. Following the tuna was the deconstructed lamb gyro. This was exceptionally cooked and made. Following the lamb was the steak. It was evident that the chef knew what he was doing, keeping the same level of heat all over the meat. The food tasting menu ended with dessert which was a combination of rice crispy and rice pudding. This was also done well. This isn't an issue or concern. Eating at Mosaic is always an adventure, in the best way possible. The food is creatively and carefully schemed and presented, and always exquisite. If you are willing to trust in Jonathan's extraordinary skills instincts, you can eat some of the best food you'll find anywhere on Long Island. We have been there dozens of times, never had the same dish twice, and never been anything less than delighted and fully satisfied. Further, if you like to pair wines with your meal or courses, their recommendations are always spot on. Cannot recommend Mosaic highly enough. Also, they always ask (when taking reservations) whether anyone in your party has dietary concerns or issues, and they fully accommodate. My wife has celiac, and has never had an adverse reaction after eating there, which is incredibly rare for her. This place is an absolute gem. read more

If you don't go for the wine pair there's a good sized list of cocktails, beers and ciders to choose from. For us, the main entree with the perfectly cooked filet mignon was the food highlight. Great dining experience. $85 per tasting menu which is 5 courses and the additional wine pairing is $45. I think I would recommend opting out of that if you don't enjoy all wines. The last two wines; a red and a dessert wine were really hard to consume, so I didn't. Each plate was amazing and you can tell they put a lot of love and finesse into those plates! The wine pairing will give you about 3.5 glasses of wine but I would rather drink something I know I will enjoy throughout my experience. Super shocked I didn't leave a review on her last year. A year ago on Valentine's Day my fiancé proposed to me there. First off, the experience of the food and restaurant itself was superb. Adding in my fiancé's proposal, I couldn't believe the chef and staff there were so helpful in making it go off without a hitch. They even took a video and pictures that we now have as memories. I was so touched by this. This year, we went back on Valentine's Day as a cute anniversary of it type thing. The food was just as delicious as last time.
