This review is my first visit when it originally opened a few weeks prior to my second visit. The Service was as expected for a new restaurant which we all expect. All the appetizers were delicious. (Salad & Crab Cake). The Branzinos were cooked at two different temperatures. Mine was barely cooked. The other was cooked well. It's a beautiful new restaurant and we hope all future meals will be perfectly cooked.

A group of us went for dinner at the Chas. for their grand opening, and it was a wonderful experience. Upon entering, the decor is beautiful. It's modern, yet vintage and gives an almost Speakeasy feel. We were seated and ordered drinks. The drink menu is diverse with a blend of unique and classic titles. I opted for a mocktail, as I was the driver, and ordered the Junior Member. It was so delicious! It wasn't overly sweet and was filled with fresh strawberries. I've seen people writing about this place leading up to their opening and describing it as a steakhouse, and while there is steak on the menu, I'd categorize it more as upscale American food. The menu is pretty diverse. We ordered some apps and a Sushi roll to share at the table. Everything was delicious. I would absolutely recommend the crab and lobster cake. It was phenomenal--both the cake and the corn salsa on the plate. The kung pow shrimp and calamari was a close 2nd. We also ordered the burrata and the duck bao buns. I didn't try the buns, but everyone at my table was happy with them. And you can't go wrong with burrata, although I wish it has a crustini or something to go with it along with the tomatoes. The sushi was fresh and delicious as well. We ordered the Hampton Roll. For my meal, I ordered the tuna with a side of creamed spinach. The tuna was delicious, and the sautéed cabbage and boc choy went really well with it. I loved the cream spinach. It was a great addition to my meal. I ordered the nutella cake for dessert. It was so good, and a great way to end the night. The staff was wonderful and attentive and it was a cool experience being one of the first to eat there. I know I'll be back to try more of their menu, and I wish them success as they navigate their opening stages.

First time at this place, very open atmosphere and nice lighting. We got there early before our reservation so we sat at the bar waiting with a drink. They said they would come get us but never did and we had to go up and ask again. That was probably the biggest issue for me other than having to ask for a refill of water, most of the evening the service was fine. Food was great, shared the Hampton roll with my husband and they were able to tweak what I wanted for the salmon. They put the glaze on the side and substituted the spinach for the broccolini for me. Then dessert! My husband and a I shared the cookies and milk. It came with two huge cookies so definitely a good dish to share. The only other thing I'd recommend is that if you are prone to be cold, bring a light sweater or jacket. Also, it was a little hard to have a conversation so if you want a more intimate place, this wouldn't be it. Overall, was a good meal with some minor things but nothing crazy. I'd be back some time, maybe for happy hour as they had a very big bar area.

Great steakhouse with fresh caviar and a decent size wine menu for pairings. The service is top notch and the foie gras is a must try! Looking forward to my next visit!

Had an incredible dinner here! The service was exceptional, the food was amazing, and the atmosphere was beautiful and inviting. We had such a great experience and can't wait to come back!

We had a really nice dinner sitting at the bar, comfortable seats, great service and well prepared meals. Very well done Chas.

Date night was great here! We went to the bar very early, hoping they could seat us early and waited at the bar. We didn't end up getting seated earlier, but the bar was a fun way to kill time. The drinks were fantastic and strong. The atmosphere was perfect. We had to try the chicken nugget and caviar while we were having cocktails. We loved the taste, but both agreed that a few smaller pieces even if we had to assemble it ourselves would have been better than having to cut a huge chicken cake. The chicken was also a little dry; just another reason smaller pieces would work better. The sushi was great. I would come here just for sushi and drinks. I liked the bluefin tuna entree but found the wasabi sauce all around the plate to be overpowering and probably should have been listed in the menu description. The pork chop was tasty but a little over cooked when we asked for it to be prepared medium. Since it was so late and it took a while to come out, we did not send it back. Overall, the drinks, apps, and sushi are worth returning for, but we will probably skip the entrees.

Wow. What an experience... the food was delicious and the staff was friendly and the location is beautiful. The ice cream sundae was a real standout. They also had a few specials that sounded delicious. Overall for a new restaurant the experience was fantastic

Visited the Chas other night, the 4 of us, came in exactly 5:03pm in 3 minutes the bar was completely full. Luckily the hostess so nice, had a table next to the bar available. Started with the lamb chops only 3 and tiny! We try them in all restaurants to compare but for $28.00 need at least 4 and should be a decent size (not lollipop lamb chops). Had the ribs, branzino and porterhouse. All the food was fresh and cooked well. Saw the manager coming around & told him about the portion size not only with the lamb but the porterhouse was also small for $156.00. Didn't have much to say. Being they are new, will give them another try in a few months to get the kinks out. Competing now with Paces & Insignia they will have to up the portion sizes on their meats. Would recommend them.

Our waiter Josue was extremely attentive The ambiance in the restaurant is lovely - many people were celebrating special occasions and it's understandable as it is beautiful both inside and out. We decided to go with the $69 diner special in order to try a variety of the menu. Our meal consisted of the garlic shrimp skillet, Mt. Fuji roll, petite filet mignon, marinated skirt steak, Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. The shrimp skillet was a major hit- he ate every last bit of it. My sushi was super fresh and flavorful. My only complaint was that they put tobiko on top of the roll. It wasn't listed in the ingredients and there was so much, it was not easy to remove. But that is literally my only complaint of the entire meal. Our steaks were so tender and flavorful, plus cooked perfectly. Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes were the perfect side dishes - creamy and ultra flavorful. The Insignia donut and chocolate mousse cake were brought out with a sparkler for excellent presentation. It definitely made the special occasion a bit more special. Our meal and experience at Insignia was nearly flawless. Would highly recommend and looking forward to our next visit!

I got a dry aged Ribeye and she got fillet mignon with 2 sides to share (entrees don't come with sides btw that is separate). 2 appetizers and 1 desert. Spending that kind of money didn't bother me. What bothered me was that the food didn't seem worth the price. There are just better steakhouses on Long Island that are cheaper. It wasn't bad. Just not worth it imo. I'd probably have given it 3* if not for the following 2 issues. 1: I ordered Creme Brulee and since it was my birthday, they gave me ice cream to put the sparkler in. The presentation was great, but when I got the bill I saw a $12 up charge for "a la mode." Mind you, I did not order Creme Brulee a la mode. I ordered Creme Brulee. $12 for a scoop of ice cream I did not order. 2: They screwed up my wife's espresso martini by putting Baileys in it when she specifically ordered it without. It was still good and my wife said she was willing to drink it. The waiter realized the mistake and had a new one made, but he probably should have just left the drink instead of tossing it. Why waste a perfectly good drink? This is a minor pet peeve, but it added to feeling nickel and dimed. I paid my bill and tipped 20% without a word about any of this. I just don't think I'll be back here. The ambiance was nice, but overall Insignia is all style with middling substance that will make you feel like they squeezed every penny they could out of you.

Everything was delicious, perfectly prepared, and served with professionalism from start to finish. We went with the Carnivore Belly package and added skirt steak, wings, and a mix of sides. The wings were crisp and flavorful, and the fryer setup stole the show with piping-hot fries and onion rings that guests couldn't stop talking about. Even the sides (macaroni salad, harvest salad) were fresh and balanced out the richness of the BBQ perfectly. Booking, setup, cooking, serving, and cleanup were all handled smoothly. Our guests raved about the food, and we were able to just enjoy the day. It was the best of both worlds - the taste of authentic BBQ with none of the stress of doing it ourselves. Highly recommend Big Belly for anyone looking to elevate their party or gathering. They absolutely made our event unforgettable. My belly is certainly happy, and now big too.

The new owner is very friendly, makes a point of greeting customers, and seems genuinely invested in creating a welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, we noticed some changes to the menu and recipes, and the food just wasn't as good as we remembered. The quality seemed to have slipped, which was disappointing since that's what kept us coming back over the years. One thing that also made us uncomfortable was being repeatedly encouraged to pay in cash for a 10% discount while being told the credit card machines weren't working, even though they clearly were. It gave the wrong impression and took away from the overall experience. The restaurant was only about half full, although that's not unusual during the peak of summer. What is truly unacceptable is the restaurants complete lack of concern afterwards. I made them aware of what happened, and despite the seriousness of the injury, the showed no accountability and no willingness to compensate. They told me they would not compensate for any of the medical bills that I have incurred. This raises serious concerns about their food safety standards, and how they treat customers when things go wrong. In this case their was clearly wrong doing on their part. Wasn't thrilled about being sat against a wall, which made service a little difficult - some dropped food (slices of strip off the porterhouse fumbled as server tried slipping in, and he also dripped some sauce on my utensils/tablecloth in front of me) - minor things. We were four people, split two pastas and two mains after apps of zucchini flowers, octopus, barata / prosciutto salad, and a lamb skewer special. The strips of lamb where most underwhelming. For $30 i'd expect noticeably more tender meat, a premium cut (loin or rack), vs what seemed like maybe leg cooked too long, or maybe it was shoulder? Seasoning missed the mark, for me. Pasta course was the Parma wheel and gnocchi Amatriciana - the guanciale had that 'butcher' taste I like, a little soft vs crisped, but that's a feature in some styles. Pasta was clearly fresh. Then a beautiful piece of sea bass - really a standout - and the smaller ~32oz steak Florentine - a lean cut with a tremendous filet on it. All the vegetables, tomatoes, beans, pesto's accompanying the dishes were otherwise delicious. Deserts were great, don't pass on the gelato or sorbets.
