My nephew and I were craving the salad bar. As always, it was fantastic. Our waitress, Barb, asked us if we wanted to order our food when we ordered our drinks. I am a person that always knows what I want when I go somewhere. So of course, we were ready. I feel not many people ask right away and make you wait until they come back (which could be a while). If I could give a zero, I would. Absolutely had the worst experience at this Eat N Park. When we drive through PA this is always a stop, but after feeling like we were Fat Shamed by our waitress this evening I'm surprised this location is even opened. The waitress charged us $13.99 for the salad bar, when it should have been $4.99 to add on to our entrees. Her response was because we ordered more sides than we were supposed to. My husband and I were craving homestyle food and decided to get take out from Pittsburgh's favorite chain diner, Eat n'Park. This is a nostalgic restaurant for me and I will always love the diner decor and cozy booths. I've eaten at different locations over many years... on this trip, we made a spontaneous decision to get dinner at the EatnPark in Monaca. This location has a drive thru but since I didn't call ahead or use mobile ordering, we ordered from the counter. The food took about 15minutes. We ordered the country fried steak and turkey dinner with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The food was warm, tasty and the brown and white gravy is delectable!!! So, I grew up with the Eat n Park being one of our breakfast spots. I also appreciate the pick up window because my mom and I often grab breakfast before going in to her work. Honestly, it is ok. From time to time there are missing items, incorrect fod, etc. It is just a local fast spot for diner like food, nothing exciting. It is the Pittsburgh answer to Dennys. So today, we got breakfast and when looking my bread had mold growing on it. I looked at is closely and there was actual sporing. I have no idea how that happens in the middle of the bread. I checked my French toast (as I got the same bread) and there were a black spot on the edge. So, the frustrating part is that someone buttered this bread over the mold and thought that was ok. So we called in and the person said they looked at it and concluded that it was just burnt in the middle of the bread (what?). We pushed back and they are agreeing to check the bread and send a gift card. Mostly, I just wanted them to be aware and not serve moldy bread. Place is 400 yards from where I work. Popped in for a quick lunch only had 30 minutes so ordered a turkey club sandwich. Took over 30 minutes for me to get it. This is by far the worst location and in this country the worst dining experience I've ever had. The manager will not accept ANY responsibility for mistakes and if you don't accept the initial excuse then comes unbelievable rudeness both on the phone and in person. Corporate refuses to do anything about it and I can understand why. Several employees there should never work in the service industry period. You come up with solutions not make cheap excuses for things that are unacceptable like food items not being refunded when they are not received or correct. Delicious, filling, affordable breakfast. Been to Eat 'N Park a couple of times now and I always leave satisfied. The wait staff is friendly and the restaurant simply feels authentically American. Their breakfast plates are satisfying and tasty. Order a combination of eggs, toast, home fries, hash browns, bacon, sausage, pancakes, french toast, and stickies ( try these, they are effectively breakfast cinnamon rolls) They also have an interesting dinner menu and sell pies and their signature smiley cookies that I will have to try on my next visit. read more

The wide variety of items on the menu are great when you have a group of people with different tastes. It's nothing fancy but a solid choice when you're hungry. I wasn't feeling great today so decided to pick up a farmers vegetable salad and cup of soup at the drive up window. You can order ahead and pull right up. So convenient. I have to rave a little about this farmers vegetable salad. This was probably one of the best salads I've had this year and that's saying something. Over 6 decades old, its triple bun with flour on the bottom, its 1/3 of a pound of beef, its pickles, its shredly deadly lettuce, its...Sauce Supreme unerringly fills the belly in the graveyard hours. Whenever I hold one, I want to squish it, resisting the urge to do so of course. If every component of the Superburger comes from a freezer, E 'N P hides it well. Eat 'N Park's Superburger owns The Clown's most heinous emissary. What is New York Style Cheesecake really? Doesn't everyone say that about their cheesecake? All I'll say is that E 'N P's take on the standard is as creamy and delectable as they come, especially when coated with the nearly obligatory strawberries. Eat 'N Park has a serious fetish for said fruit lately and it has culminated in a breakthrough of a pie: The Strawberry Creme Pie which merges custard and whipped cream for the purpose of celebrating fragaria ananassa, one of its gloriously plump receptacles put atop each slice. Strawberries are tricky. They have to be juuussst right; not underripe, not overripe, and with strawberries, that can easily happen. This particular strawberry was so dead-perfect, wet, achenes shining, a goblet of them and nothing more would have sufficed. Kay ordered the pie that held them. I got one taste. This place can't even get a simple online order correct. It's absolutely silly. If you order late night around 11pm, it seems like the workers are clueless and jerking around, they don't even know where your order is and better yet they'll charge you for someone else order because their so confused. If your looking for old food even if you pick it up right on time through the app, you'll wait another 5-10 mins while they let it sit there in the back, the cheese sticks I could have broken a window with. There is nothing to get excited about at this restaurant. I was there for breakfast this morning December 6, 2017 at 7 AM and was not greeted in fact we did not even know if they were open for business because there was no one around after sitting at the bar for about five minutes. My buddy said he heard some talking around the corner and was going to grab someone so that we could order before we had to go to work. Once we made contact with the server who was sitting at a back table with the hostess. The server then came over and gave us our menus and coffee which was pretty fast. We were not sure after we ordered Pancakes an French toast if we were going to get our food in time to be at work by 8AM. It took a long time not sure if the grills where on or if they where chopping down the grains and milling them to make our breakfast. Once the food came out everything else was good but I will not be going back to this restaurant next time I am in town for business. Sat at the bar hoping for a quick breakfast, however I got the opposite. I watched three employees standing next to me at the register along with the manager. They saw me, yet none of them did anything to relative getting a menu, something to drink or even find a server. I waited 10 minutes before anyone approached me. Eat'n Park is one of the few restaurants that has things my super picky daughter will eat in their salad bar. So we frequent them. This one has not disappointed. Although the macaroni salad in the salad bar tasted like macaroni in ranch, and upon asking the waitress, she confirmed with the kitchen that that was exactly what it was. Er. Ew. Always a favorite of mine, my family's, and many friends'. There's plenty of local H.S. memorabilia on the walls and in the dining room, and the music is at a comfortable roar. Eat N Park is known for great breakfast, and I'm never disappointed when I do opt for some pancakes or french toast. The grilled stickies a la mode are a masterpiece, I highly recommend them. They're not even $3, and when you bring in a ticket stub from the Cinemark just up the road, you get $2 off your check. SWEET. The wait staff is friendly enough, especially the one waitress who calls everyone "friend" and is constantly singing along to whatever is playing at the time, even while taking orders. It's more fun and lighthearted than disrespectful, I assure you. I've had bad experiences as well, don't get me wrong. Waiting for food, refills, the check, even when every other table around you is getting excellent service, it happens. We must have smelled like a superburger - gut wrenching. Anyway, they have good pies for sale and the smiley cookies are classic., the price is right and the staff is friendly. Tried this place twice in a week. Neither time was the establishment busy, both times the seating times were adequate. The first time, about a 10 minute wait before someone finally came to the table to take a drink order. Following that, the service was fine. We just finished eating here today. The salad plates were dirty. They were coated in what looked like ranch dressing. We had 2 flies landing in our good. Since this is January, there should be no flies. I would guess they are breading in the restaurant. We told our waitress and she apologized. She was pleasant. When we walked up to pay a server with name tag Roxann was loudly complaining behind the check out register to someone in the bakery window and the hostess that they weren't seating anyone in her area and she only had 3-4 tables in the last two and a half hours. The salad dressing was wrong, there was chicken on the salad when we asked for no chicken, we asked for garlic toast and received rolls, we received a baked potato which was rotten inside. My husband and I often eat at this restaurant on Sunday mornings and other times during the month. Last Sunday Sept.4th we got the buffett and it was excellent. This Sunday Sept 11 we were very disappointed. We arrived around 8 a.m. We sat right across from the buffett so we noticed there was no bacon. We both opted for the buffett anyway thinking it would be filled right away. About 35 minutes went by still no bacon. The biscuits were hard. Other items were not filled. We ask and the server said things would be filled. Others also ask and got the same answer. Not worth the money we spent today. Coffee is usually bitter. We have had bad service and meals in the past but decided to try the one in Monaca as it has been almost 2 years since multiple horrible experiences at the Moon Township location. It was announced at the Steelers Ravens game that Eat N Park would give free Super Burgers the next day if you showed your ticket. The burgers were tiny and burnt with little bits of lettuce and pickles. Water , a cup of soup and burgers took an hour to get in a semi empty dining room. And to get the free burgers, you had to surrender the actual tickets. Sorry Eat N Barf, we have not changed our minds about eating at any location in the future.
