Could this be the All-American diner... It very well could be, Freedom Square is only opened for breakfast and lunch but they make the most from both menus. I have equally enjoyed breakfast and lunch here and I find it hard to pick a winner, they are both very good. Breakfast will find you all the classic diner classics you would expect. For the lunch menu I love the hot meatloaf sandwich as well as their huge fish sandwich. Overall the food is fresh and hot, service is very good and the prices are very fair for what you get. We are regulars at Freedom Diner. The food is usually very good. Went in on a Sunday, tried to put our name on the list but the hostess, who walked up to us, turned away to wipe tables up. The hostess didn't return. A waitress stopped and placed our name on the list. Finally the hostess walks back, looked at the list, and proceeded to seat 2 people who just walked in. I went up to the podium. The hostess then continued to clean off tables. Another waitress came to ask what I needed. She then argued with me saying that the others were all ahead of me. She showed me the waiting list and said see...the 2 parties on waiting list were a party of 5 and party of 2 which was Me and my husband. We were the only ones waiting. I insisted the party of 2 were the ones seated. I said that was ME! She said that was the people being seated were under my name. Instead of saying Im sorry, let me seat you at one of the many empty tables, she continued to tell me I was mixed up. I said, I don't want to eat here any longer. She said OK, and we left and ate a less expensive meal at Eat N Park. Probably won't return due to their staff. read more

I have not been to Freedom Square Diner in years but wanted to try it out again around noon on Saturday. We did have to wait about 10 minutes but everyone was nice and friendly in the waiting area. We ended up getting a table by the kitchen...always a fun place to be to see the inner workings. I was a little disappointed that my favorite breakfast and lunch were no longer on the menu! My husband and I each picked a breakfast sandwich. I picked a bagel, egg and Turkey sausage with cottage fries. My husband decided on an English muffin with egg, cheese, and a huge amount of ham. It's a perfect diner almost is camouflaged but it's not, if that makes sense?? The hostess is the usually the first/last to see. They're great to get you seated right away. The waitress we had, from start to finish she was PERFECT. She had a personality that was almost like my own. If she or any of her co- workers see this. Ask her about (Thelma, not her name) it will help her remember me. I was in on Saturday 11/20/21. She has a southern accent and in that moment I knew I had a good waitress. The salad included onion, feta cheese, bacon, dried cranberries and pecans with a side of raspberry vinaigrette. The sandwich had a hint of bbq sauce and swiss on it. So moist and just delish!!! It was just "ok" food. The pancakes were not fluffy. The egg Benedict had little flavor. I don't think it's worth returning again. When we went to check out at the front there was a line of people needed to do the same, and a line to be seated and none of the servers would even look at us. Freedom Square Diner has great pancakes. We went yesterday with the pancakes on our minds. My husband ordered 3, I ordered one. The waitress asked if he was sure about his order? The pancakes are very big she said. He was sure. Anyway, when she brought our order she and the other waitress were laughing. The pancakes were less than half the size, thin and very unattractive! I was to out done. The service was already very poor and for them to make fun of our meals? I will never go back! By the way, we were the only African American customers In the diner. A pretty good menu of breakfast pancake and omelet dishes, and a lunch menu of sandwiches, burgers and salads. I have been there twice and both experiences were good. My latest trip I ordered a Turkey Rachel and side salad. My wife got the Walnut pancakes. My daughter also had a pancake which seemed to be undercooked as it crumbled apart extremely easily, but that didn't stop her from eating it. When this place first opened it wasn't bad. Has gone downhill consistently for the past few years. Went here today with my wife and 3 young boys, it was 1:45pm 3 tables seated (2) with food and drinks. It took 10 minutes to seat us with no body waiting in front of us. After being seated with 3 young boys keep in mind we sat for another roughly 8-10 minutes without a single person saying a word to us. (5) waitresses not one came over. (3) stood their talking and looking right at us. It's just a shame, lots of people in the food industry are struggling right now and go out of their ways to give you great service and then you go into this place and basically get ignored. The original location in Cranberry on Freedom rd is worth visiting if you're in the area. Steer clear of the Monaca location. read more

I'm from New Jersey, home of 24 hour diners and I can honestly say there's never a bad time for pancakes and boy these are some of the best diner pancakes I've ever had. Grabbed breakfast here on a national holiday, which seemed kind of appropriate. Classic rock and oldies blared on the diner's radio, and the place was absolutely packed. Things began going downhill quickly. Our party all ordered different things. I tried eggs with sausage gravy (a dish I rarely eat, though I wanted to give it a whirl here). As we ordered, the place cleared out a little. But still, it took almost 40 minutes for our food to show up. I had a good view to the kitchen and it looked like pure chaos in there. When the food finally came, some things we ordered were wrong. A friend ordered her eggs fried, but she got them over easy. My spouse ordered waffles with berries and whipped cream, but only got the former (because the server made assumptions). Once we dug in, all all made some groans. The food was generally mediocre. Our eggs were fine (mistakes aside), but almost everything else tasted like it was out of a can or box. The French toast seemed to have no egg or butter involved. The sausage gravy tasted like flour, period. As we slowly finished our plates (or, in most cases, not finish), we were discussing some other places in the area that serve breakfast, which prompted the server to make some passive aggressive comments about us being "food critics" as she passed the table. What a good place to grab a bite for breakfast or a feast for lunch! I dropped in with all intentions of scooping up a delicious omelette, but when I saw a jalapeno burger on the menu, I could not say no. The joint was busy, but the service was fast and friendly. The facility was clean and well decorated, and I often found myself singing along with the upbeat music adding to the fun/friendly ambiance. The price was right, the parking was good and the location was easy to get to. My first time here while staying in the area. Though I didn't snap a pic, I had the eggs Benedict. The Hollandaise sauce was light and tasty. The ham was legit - a good flavor and healthy slice. The best I've ever had on a Benedict, my go-to breakfast. I had the home fries which were crispy good, but a little dry. Went there this past Saturday because I loved there biscuits and gravy breakfast so a few of us went to eat at 2 in the afternoon . Had an hour before they closed. Well the server asked how many and did the old turn around and look up at the clock. Wasn't to thrilled about that. I served for years so I do know what I'm talking about. With an annoyed attitude she asked what we wanted to drink and got them took our order. I asked for scrambled eggs with sautéed onions and American cheese, bacon bis & gravy and hf's. Well the onions were on my hf's not the eggs like I had asked and she seen me moving them To my eggs and said would you like me to have a cook make you new ones? I said sure that would be nice. Well when she brought them back they were exactly the same with the onions on top of the eggs which was what I was starting to do in the first place. My daughter and her boyfriend said their food was ice cold so the server took the food back to the cook and had asked them to heat it up and as she took the food back because were sitting right there so we can hear him ( the cook) had the audacity and the ignorance to say aw. I mean how ignorant is that. You go somewhere and you want hot food not cold hot and you want your food the way you ask for it. Isn't that what you're paying for?So now I will never return I will go to New Sheffield Cafe for breakfast from now on because they have a fantastic breakfast. A bad experience there this morning has changed my review of this place. A group of 4 of us went for breakfast and a hair was found in my girlfriends food. We mentioned it to the waitress who apologized and took the food away. The female owner came to our table and spoke with us and was very pleasant. I thought that she would take one of the breakfast charges off of the bill but we were surprised to find the charge still on the receipt! What in the world? I try to support local "mom and pop" places like these over the traditional chain places but they have lost my future business. read more

The location in Monaca just opened its doors not too long ago and this place has become a hot spot for breakfast and lunch. It was a very busy Sunday morning when we ventured into this place and surprisingly enough, we were to get seated and waited on very quickly. Our server was very nice and kept my coffee cup filled. I love that. :-) The menu features a wide variety of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners. You can order breakfast at any point during the day. They offer the option to build your own breakfast burrito, skillet, or sandwich. I ordered a breakfast burrito with eggs, sausage, bacon, onions, peppers, and cheddar cheese. This place USED to be good. It has gone down hill recently. I ordered the corned beef hash plate with biscuit and home fires, and scrambled egg. The hash was ice cold, and sitting in some sort of watery liquid on the plate. The home fries had no seasoning other than parsley and had a rotten vinegar taste. And the biscuit, while definitely homemade, was microwaved to warm it up, which resulted in it being hard as a rock around the edges. The waitress left something to be desired, she asked ME what came with my order, I had to ask for napkins, then while removing our plates from the table she smacked my son in the arm with the plates. Lastly, while the restaurant was barely half full, she essentially told us to "leave" by telling us to take our check up front.... We lingered about 10 minutes after getting our check so my son could finish his tea. It was my sons birthday so I didn't want to upset him by complaining to management. Management is horrible. The way they treat their worker ladies is borderline sexual harassment. On multiple different occasions the managers have been way too personal and touchy. I've heard them say quite vulgar and inappropriate things to their hostess'. read more

Great find not too far from our new home town with nice diner food. Our server Nicki (I hope that's right) was very good and super sweet. Everyone was very pleasant. My buffalo chicken salad was HUGE and delicious. The kids loved their chicken tenders and corn dog lunches served in a cute car shaped box. Perfect after a morning of running errands and something to keep us going for the rest of them. We came to freedom Square diner because we had these little secret envelopes they gave us before Christmas when we ate here designed to draw us back. We were to not open them and they would open it upon on our return visit. We ended up getting one $5 gift certificate and one BOGO entree, which was cool. Since everything here is overpriced for a "diner", ($9 omelettes, $12 salads, $10 burgers,) I got a salad, Romano crusted chicken salad with peppercorn Parmesan dressing. My boo got a buff chick sandwhich. I wish I would've taken a photo of the salad- I was astonished they even had the nerve to bring it to my table. A piece of chicken on top of flat sad mixed greens with a hard boiled egg in the corner- and they gave me the wrong dressing. My boos sandwhich looked good at first glance, but the bun was literally drenched in hot sauce. The guy is 300 lbs and even he refused to eat it. He was dripping sweat and waited about 15 mins for a drink refill (we were seated almost IN the kitchen also). Bad service (it was busy but cmon) mediocre overpriced food. We didn't complain but I thought I'd write his review to make me feel better. Still have that $5 gift certificate if anyone wants it because we will certainly not be back! My husband and I visited Freedom Square Saturday Feb.18 I wasn't going to review because I don't like to give negative reviews. However, Our visit was mediocre at best. The food so so, I got the biscuits and gravy. Boxed biscuits that were hard on the bottom, I'm going to guess from over heating in the microwave. No good restaurant should operate microwaves, and this is a good example why. My husband got the hot turkey sandwich. Fries were limpy, the corn was dumped straight from a can and tossed in that microwave again I'm guessing. He didn't eat it. The turkey, just slabs of deli turkey cut thick. Not good at all. There was a lady manager/owner there She seemed snippy and stuck up. My server seemed more interested in talking than waiting on her customers. We won't be back. My boyfriend and I stopped for a quick lunch. The kitchen got our order wrong. Instead of the waitress offering to remake the sandwich she said maybe you can scrape the cheese off or dip it in ranch. She brought us the kitchen check to prove it wasnt her mistake. I asked for lettuce and tomato on the side and extra napkins. The waitress never brought them.
