I chose a pink color and the woman (I believe who may be the owner) noticed that the actual color in the bottle didn't really match the swatch completely and suggested a different shade that was more accurate to what I wanted. The very first word out of the employee's mouth was "No." No greeting, no "hi," no "welcome," not even a polite "sorry, we don't have time." I'm not a gal who "gets my nails done". I'm 36 years old and have only gotten my nails done a handful of times (no pun intended). This is due to the fact that A) I don't know how people are able to spend so much money on nails (I'm poor) and B) my hair and nails grow like weeds. I would never be able to keep up! Luckily, I have great nail beds (I receive compliments from nail techs) and thus some store-bought Sally Hansen gel polish on my natural nails at home works just fine. That being said, I decided "What the hell! Let me treat myself!". Plus, it is helping a small business that recently reopened with the Cali Covid restrictions. I was overwhelmed with nail studio options but decided on The Nail Studio as it is next door to my tanning salon whose owner recommended them and they had great Yelp reviews. I called ahead of time and spoke to the famous Rita (owner/manager, I believe) and booked an appointment for a simple gel manicure and light design (just some hearts on a total of four fingers). Rita said the manicure was $35 plus starting at $5 for the design depending on the complexity. The Nail Studio is located in a plaza at the corner of Moorpark and Fulton home to a 7-Eleven, laundromat, Suntans To Go, optometry office and a kids ballet studio. If you see cop cars then you are in the right place: they LOVE this 7-Eleven for some reason! Parking is easy-peasy with a large, free lot. I walked in to a spacious, rectangular studio that was actually quite Ikea-esque in decoration rather than being cheesy or basic like some other shops. The flooring is nice, the massage chairs are pillowy, a television was in the corner, and everything looked clean and pristine. Rita and another employee were on hand (another pun!) with two older women getting pedis. Basically it was relatively empty and quiet which I liked cause my inexperience with manicures gives me nail salon social anxiety! Rita welcomed me immediately and told me to wash my hands first in the back and then sit at the nail table. She also showed me all the gel color options and let me tell you: there are a LOT! I'm talking endless colors all over the rainbow complete with mattes, glitters, nudes... my mouth was certainly agape. I wanted something Valentine's Day- ish (my appt was Feb 1st) with a deep merlot red wine color and some white hearts on two fingers on each hand. I finally chose a color and Rita began to pamper my nails. Now, as I've made it clear, I am not a nail expert but Rita is exquisite and obviously talented. I didn't think my nails or cuticles were bad to begin with but she cleaned them up so well that I think I may start my career as a hand model! Rita is quick but not careless and her work is top-notch. The application was perfect as were the little hand-design hearts. Her work is SO stupendous that exactly two weeks later; my cuticles still look divine and the gel polish/art has no chips, wear, nothing. Aside from my own nail growth at the base, they still look terrific. So why not 5 stars, you ask? Well, first because I didn't feel as welcome and comfortable in the shop. I felt like Rita would of preferred me to not converse with her. She WASN'T rude. I am NOT saying that. More so that she is a bit awkward? Second, I see in a Yelp review that someone got a gel manicure with Vday hearts and was only charged a total of $36?! I was charged about $10 more that that (not including my tip). Hmmm. That makes me sad. Despite my minor critiques; I WILL be back and plan to make gel manicures at The Nail Salon more of a 'regular' thing when not banking on my store brought Sally Hensen bottles. read more

I found her by accident and I'm glad that was an amazing accident because she's honestly the best . She makes me feel beautiful every time I go to her . This was my second time at EB Nails and they did amazing both times! I just get a gel manicure and pedicure on my real nails but their gel lasts so much longer and cheaper ($90 for gel mani and pedi!!). I went over 3 weeks without chips, and they paint far down into your cuticle so it grows out slower too. I also haven't had bumps or wrinkles in the gel like I've had at other nail salons in the area. Plus, they are so kind and helped me today to find the perfect color I was looking for. Yesterday I put in a request for a pedicure to multiple salons on Yelp and Evelina the owner responded within 20 minutes. She was very pleasant and answered all of my questions. She also without me having to ask (I was just going to walk in) booked me for an appointment which I thought as great made me feel like she valued my business. When I got to the appointment she was very hands on. Her shop is very clean. She is nice and very conversational. She made sure I was well taken care of throughout the appointment. And they do overlay on toes which is most important to me! The lady that did my shaping nailed it no pun intended. Lol. No over filing and drilling neither. Loved the experience will return!! I went to this salon for the first time today. I went in for an almond shaped gel manicure. This was by far the worst manicure I have ever had. I'm pretty sure the owner was who did my manicure. Not only did she cut my finger badly while cutting my cuticles but then messed up the polish on both hands leaving them looking clunky, uneven and lopsided. She tried to fix them but just further hurt my cuticles from filing. I left the salon with nails that looked sloppy with polish around my cuticles and 3 bleeding cuticles. She did discount the service by $10.00 but it should have been free. My nails are a mess and I will need to go somewhere else for a polish change once my cuticles heal. I would stay away from this place.... Do yourself a favor and go to a different salon. read more
