Ebenezer is the man. I spent $1400 on a new ebike but it gave me too many problems. flat tires, brakes going bad, and I was always having flats every day. I was biking and saw a sign on a bike lane that had his shop's advertisement and I went there hoping for the best. I walked in and found out the way this man works. I was broke, and only had less than the required amount to fix my tires and my brakes, Ebenezer worked with me and gave me amazing deals that other bike shops wouldn't have. I shopped around and found that fixing one flat tire was going to be $60. and that was just for the inner tube inside the tire not including the actual outer tire. So I called Ebenezer and asked him if he had a used tire he can give me for cheap, he said Yes I do! Other shops do not have a used tire I can buy, they only sell brand new, which would cost me more dollars that I do not have. But Ebenezer has used tires he was willing to let go for $20. So he told me that he was going to take care of me. and I went to the shop, ended up getting BOTH of my tires replaced, and my rear tube replaced. that's THREE services he gave me. And that's Ebenezer working his magic. He knows the condition, finds the best remedy, all while keeping the cost super low. Ebenezer kept my ebike in a good condition these past few months. Realistiscally, an ebike is a vehicle, despite it being on the bottom of a totem pole. You know that feeling when your car stops working but you need to go to work. But you have barely any cash to fix it. Ebenezer is the type of "mechanic" that will fix your "car", charge you for what you got, instead of what it should be, and doing it in a super quick time that will get you in and out in an hour or less. My ebike works beautifully now, and I just generally love all types of machinery, and Ebenezer, I have the feeling, is the same type of guy that loves what he does while being a great human being all at the same time. This is an overdue review. I purchased a second hand bike from here at a great price. I get compliments everytime I go riding with it, funny enough (apparently it's the biker's bike). I thought the bike had issues and took it to the bike store. The owner was quite busy, BUT he thoroughly took time and reviwed everything to make sure the bike works properly. He then asked me to ride the bike in front of him. It turned out that I was not changing the gears properly and he showed me how to change the gears correctly. Since the visit everythign works. He's a great expert at what he does and we appreciated his services. Will go here anytime. read more

My flat tire after my visit to Ebenezer Bike Shop... I came in to get a quick pump before my bike ride around Balboa. We brought our bikes in on Wednesday morning 4/30. My tire was not flat when I came in...and the same hour after them it was flat....we didn't end up riding either because it started drizzling so it was to no fault of my own. Come to checking they didn't screw the wnd of my air valve. And a week later with my own pump at home I can't get it to inflate. We've checked the tube and found out they punctured it.... Now, I can't say whether that was an accident or purposeful but either way it was a shoddy job. I'm slightly furious. We tipped just to come out even worse needing more work. I won't be able to ride for a little while because I honestly really can't afford a new tube right now. read more

I had 2 bikes that my kids destroyed over last summer, tires were flat, seats were ripped, absolutely destroyed gears and so on. I checked for shops near me and decided to try Ebenezer. I brought both bikes on a Saturday morning and Romero checked them out right away. He gave a recommendation of what they were worth and if they were worth the repair. He gave very fair pricing for both and quick tunaround time. I was going to give 4 stars, but he did a great job i would keep 5. They one minus is the money. He quoted me 75 for first bike and 45 for the 2nd, I gave him 150 and he gave me change of 20. should have been 30. Not a big deal for me, i would have given it to him as a tip anyways. read more

Beware of this bicycle shop the owner is not honest. I took wheels for my son, carbon fiber, specialize hybrid bike for him to true balance. After a few hours I went back and picked it up and paid him $40 when I went back and install it on the Bike it did not sit and start rubbing the frame from one side. I took the rear wheel back to him to adjust the balancing he told me my wheel is bended, and I need to change the tire or shim the shaft for the hub. I figured at that time this person does not want to take care of his Customer And he's just giving me the runaround so sure enough I went back locally where I live in Santa Clarita and the bike shop he fixed the wheel in 10 minutes when I called the owner so I can get my money back. He told me I will not give you your money. This is my opinion so be aware and take your bike to somebody else. read more

I had just left Costco (with a brand-new battery in tow) when I caught a flat on my bike--because of course I did. Lugging that heavy battery and feeling totally defeated, I stumbled into this bike shop. They absolutely restored my faith in humanity. Not only did they swap out my busted tube for a more durable, higher-quality one in what felt like record time, and reasonable price but they did it with Christian music playing gently in the background--which, honestly, added a weirdly peaceful vibe to the whole situation. But here's the kicker: they secured my car battery to my bike with a bungee cord so I could get home safely and efficiently. Like... who does that?! Above and beyond doesn't even cover it. Took our rusted, delapidated Trek and Giant bikes in for refurbishment on a Monday. We were told they'd be ready Friday. They were ready Wednesday. They were also in better shape than we when we had bought them from the showroom floor. Astonishing quality of service, astonishing speed. Not cheap, but they were in such bad shape they'd have been considered for scrap if they'd been cheaper bikes. We got more than we paid for, and faster than we expected. read more

It's a small shop but he sure had a good amount of inventory in that small space. I was asking about fixie bicycles and he was sold out then asked about an aluminum women's step through bicycle. The women's bikes on the floor were more of a beach cruiser style and not something my wife needed for her riding style. One customer who came in to pick up a repaired child's bike was told by the employee that it's not a good quality bike, I'm glad he's honest and doesn't play the used car salesman games. read more

Hobby cyclist and athletes please read! Came in Thursday Feb 22 2024, I bought in a used mountain bike that needed the breaks adjusted and a road bike in for a tune up. The repairman in front was rude and dishonest. I went to another shop I left a 5 star review of. FULL DISCLOSURE: I bought a used bike off a roommate who let the bike sit in the rain for weeks. I had just replaced the inner tubes and saw the breaks needed a lot of adjusting. I usually do my own fixing but thought a pro could give the bike the full tune up it really needs. I also bought an old Schwinn tempo I love and use for triathlons cause the idea of having a pro tune it up was exciting. I'm no pro but I'm capable of doing simple repairs and I have for years. Guy in the front takes a quick glance at the mountain bike and tells me my breaks are broken, that I need new break lines, and an alignment. ($70) I was open to the idea of replacing parts but when I asked him questions about prices he said I should " check this shop on Ventura but when you see the prices you'll come right back". He tries to show me the break arm springs won't spring back. I asked him for a screw driver, adjusted the set screw and viola, they spring back. He says "oh yeah you got it maybe you don't need them. How are your break pads those look old." He then grabs a tool from the back while explaining how an alignment works and tells me "yeah it seems like you don't know what you're doing but I can sell you parts and tools to do it yourself." Comes back to my bike with the tool is telling me what more is wrong with my bike and SNIPS the front break cable. "Yeah we gotta replace that one." I finally told him about my schwinn tempo I have in the back of my suv, and his eyes glew up at the prospect of another sale. I told him "I was glad he didn't touch my race bike because he would have ruined it. I didn't like that he said I didn't know what I was doing, plus he ruined my mountain bike." I went to another local shop where they told me customers have came from Ebenezer with complaints before. First time buyers and new bicyclist beware! Hobby bicyclist should check out other local shops where they take you serious and won't take advantage of you. read more

After reading the reviews for this shop, I decided to give it a try since I don't know too much about bikes and I'm hoping for some honest service. Romero gave us just that. He's a fast talker, like literally he speaks very quickly, but he doesn't make you feel pressured. When my friend and I were on the fence about a few things he suggested that were a little more than we anticipated spending, he threw something in for free to help us out. He also cleaned and lubed the bike for free, which was really nice. I saw some used bikes hanging around for sale that looked to be decently priced as well, so I'll keep that in mind for the future. Update to my review: I don't know what it is with this business but the guy who runs it honestly is very unprofessional. The last two times I've tried to do business with this guy he either failed to follow up and lost my business, or he couldn't keep his commitment which also resulted in him losing my business. Honestly I get this is a minority owned local business and I should be more supportive, but I've tried and you can't use that as an excuse for being unprofessional and wasting people's time. Whatever you do, DO NOT BRING YOUR BIKE TO THIS SHOP for service. I brought my tubless 29'r wheel to have him inflate the tire (I could not get it to seat). It took him a week, and then he charged a whopping $58, which I felt was a rip off, but I paid him anyhow. But, it did not take long until the tire began to deflate from the new stem he installed. Clearly, the work was defective. I took it in to him to have him fix it. Immediately, he started to give me the run around, claiming he did not know what happened to it. I told him it was leaking from the new stem. He then admitted he was not an expert, but still tried to blame me. When I told him I thought he should honor his expensive work, he got irate, insulting, and even got belligerent telling me that he was going to "f&*^" me up". This guy is a total fraud. He does not have a clue how to work on a high end bike. Spare yourself, and avoid this shop like the plague. Stick with a real bike mechanic. read more

This guy sold me a bike that I didn't ask for and once I discovered that the bike was not the correct bike, I told him and he said he would fix the problems. But he never did fix the problems, he just kept putting it off. So I ask for my money back and he wouldn't refund me and started arguing with me.
