Even though they are less than a mile from our house and have been in business for over a decade, we just found Studio Cycle Company. We have two 2-year old REI co-op hybrid bikes in desperate need of tuneups. REI told us 10 days and the price per bike was outrageous, (and we're "Members".) We dropped our bikes at Studio City Cycle on Monday and they were ready on Tuesday. The price per bike for a tune-up was less than anyone else we called. Also, a whole lot less than REI! We just rode our freshly tuned bikes and they are not only clean and shiny but well tuned and tight. He even answered my question of why the front brake squeaks and how to fix it. I needed a helmet so I bought one there. My girl friend was looking for an entry level MTB. Every bike shop in town was sold out of bikes. We stopped by studio cycle just on the way home with zero expectations. We were immediately greeted by a man, I forgot his name. Anyways, we started to chop it up on what my girl friend is looking for. He tells us he has the perfect bike. He pulls out a beautiful Marin Bobcat in the perfect size for my girlfriend. He let he test ride the bike, went over basic specs on the bike, etc... we ended up buy the bike and have had a blast taking it to different green and blue trails. Often I've come in and they've stopped what they were doing to make quick adjustments free of charge. More recently, they brought my bike back to LIFE after it started to give me troubles post-century ride.
