Wow there are quite a few negative reviews for this little place. Keep Reading. I rec'd some Botox on 2/6/12 for 2 areas for $198 by Amanda. Thank you for doing such a nice job. Yes it's true the parking is hard to find, and there is a fire station smack across the street from their lot, and yes there was like a 30-45minute wait for my appt. But, I had time to wait, Amanda was very nice, professional, and did a great job on my 2 areas. (Hey AMANDA, Can I do the 3rd area for $75 now). The counter girl I'm sure was overwhelmed by the many persons standing in the tiny reception when I entered, so she wasn't as friendly/smiley as she coulda/shoulda been. No complaints about her though. I was billed correctly and in a timely manner. I was here about a year ago for a facial and IPL with Jessica (no longer there) and really liked her. My facial was fine and she was very informative as she went along. (Maybe Clint -the Mgr - will read my review and bring her back - - it's hard to find people who are passionate about their work. Do not waste your time and money!!!! My appointments were canceled twice and one of those times they didn't call me to say so - I wasted my time to drive there! They claim their laser hair removal machines are broken/need service and they blame groupon for it as they have to many people to serve now. Since I purchased the 6 treatments through groupon I menaged to do only one appointment and although groupon said 6 treatments with Cootera coolglide excel laser, I had my treatment done by some other type of laser machine. They were running late, I had to wait close to an hour. If you need any info do not ask the receptionist, she is clueless and misleading and to top it of she is unfriendly. Do not go there. I have been to EC Medical Group 5 times, 4 times for tattoo removal and just yesterday for an EC Signature chemical peel. Everyone there has always been so nice to me but Brittany is my girl! She's been awesome since my very first visit with her. She is very knowledgeable and has a great personality that just sets you at ease before a procedure that is essentially painful. When I had come back to get another tattoo removal session she saw that I had picked at the scab a little bit and she got on me about it! I really needed that so that I could break my bad habit. Thanks Brittany! The environment there is very calming and the prices are the best! There is only one thing...I thought the previous location was more accessible for me but at least there is a lot more room. Overall, it's a great place and I wouldn't go anywhere else! Bought an IPL special on DailySave and think I got what I paid for. (Not much) Staff are ok not really rude but, not really patient/customer oriented. Treatment rooms are FREEZING!! And they don't offer any blanket/towel to keep warm. I owe this to my Botox lovers and to EC Medical! I returned after years of walking away with a bad taste in my mouth, wondering why I would ever consider going back.... Well, fast forward 3 years later, from my last review. Different location, better trained employees, updated appointment options. I made an appointment online, had a response the same day, they honored a coupon that had expired a week or two before, which was included in the email confirmation for my appointment, and they took me in the same week. When I arrived I was greeted by two receptionist and was the only patient there, my wait time was about 3 minutes in their spacious waiting area, offering a good fengshui design.... As I'm taken back to the exam room, they take a before picture of my horrid frown lines, likely to CYA, for those who complain of having no response to treatment. Which I didn't mind. Moving forward, Dawn must have just had a treatment right before she walked in because BOY was she swollen and red (I acted normal). Did that stop me from having her blast me with a little bo? Not at all (that's the environment), I haven't had such a good dose of Botox in years, it took well, no touch up needed, no Spock or eyelid droop as we discussed. And to top it off I went on Wrinkle Wednesday, which offers an additional Botox area at a discounted price. I SCORED! And you should too! I tried...I really tried to give this place a chance...it's five minutes from my house and would've been really convenient. A while back, I purchased an IPL package from Groupon. Went for the first appointment and kind of tripped out 1. How long it took to get that first appointment. 2. How long the wait was at that appointment. 3. How tiny and crowded the waiting room was. 4. How uncomfortable I was listening to the receptionist yak to a coworker about patients right in front of all us "patients" waiting in the crowded waiting room. When it was finally my turn after having waited 45 minutes for that appointment I had already had to wait a month for, I was put in a room where a woman obviously in charge of up-selling came in for a "consult." I told her I wasn't interested. I was cheating on my regular provider to try them out and if I wanted other services, I would let them know. She kept going. Another uncomfortable moment. Then, a nurse came in for my treatment, which took all of five minutes. When I left, I was told to call to make the second appointment as the appointment had to be later and they weren't scheduling that far out. Weird. I just thought the girl was too interested in her incessant gossiping. I called to make the second appointment and decided I would give them one more try and take advantage of another email deal for Botox at $99. Well, I couldn't get in for three weeks this time. It was still enough time before my 25th high school reunion. I've had Botox many times and know how long it kicks in. I was within the time frame so I scheduled. At the time of my appointment, I went in and again waited about 45 minutes for my appointment, which I had shown up 10 minutes early for. I should've known better, but always hope that the first bad experience was a fluke. Sigh...the waiting room was again packed and uncomfortable. Again, when I went in to the treatment room, the hard-sell woman came in and again tried to shame me into various treatments. Again uncomfortable and yucky. The nurse did my IPL treatment which again took a whopping five minutes. Then, she did the Botox. She told me to "rub it in and keep rubbing it through the evening." Having had Botox numerous times before, I know this isn't what you should do! I didn't. The next day, I developed crazy bruising. Yuck. 10 days later, the stuff still hadn't kicked in. When I get Botox from my regular provider, it kicks in within three to four days. I went frowning to my high school reunion and called EC Medical who after arguing with me about how long I waited to report the failure, the woman said I could come in for a "retouch." They told me this happens "all the time." Never happened to me before. After much back and forth trying to coordinate the scheduling, we settled on a date. A very frustrating experience as I kept telling the woman my work schedule and kids' school schedules, but she continuously didn't hear me. She kept stating times smack dab in the middle of work or when I have to pick a kid up from school or take them to sports practice. Ugh! So, FINALLY a workable date was settled on 2 weeks in the future, which I felt was a minor miracle. I was nervous about them giving me further crap about having to go that far out. The lady assured me it would be no problem as she had written notes in my file about the timing. A week later, I get an automated call about an appointment the following day. Wha? Wrong date. I call. They woman tells me that is the date I scheduled. No it wasn't because I have to work during that time. I would NEVER schedule during work for Botox. A broken leg...strep throat...a fever of 105, but I would never miss work for Botox! Grudgingly, and giving me passive-aggressive shaming, she scheduled for the date I had on my calendar. I went in for the appointment, again had to wait an inordinate amount of time in the cramped and packed waiting room and AGAIN, the hard-sell woman came in. Really? This time, it was because she obviously thought I was full of crap and that the Botox was working. She asked me if I thought the Botox should fill in the frown lines. The way she asked was like she was talking to a Kindergartener. I told her no, I get filler for that from my other provider. I know what Botox should do and it's not this (I point at the deep frown I produce at that moment). She back peddles because she can see I am pissed off at this point. She relents. A new nurse comes in and gives the shots. She tells me that they prepare the Botox exactly like it specifies in the instructions ("we NEVER water it down"). Well, I thought that was kind of strange as I hadn't asked or accused them of that. Yet. When it's administered, she tells me don't rub or lie down until the evening. I tell her about the last nurse telling me to rub it in and she looks shocked and says that's not correct! Uh...duh. Ladies, please steer clear of this place. It is a mill. read more

OMG! Horrible place, please avoid the temptation of getting a procedure at a cheap price, you get exactly what you pay for.... or even less. The staff has a really bad and nasty attitude, from the time you come in they start bossing you around, making quick, snarky comments, etc. They kept me waiting for about 50 mins in a little room, with NO ONE telling me anything or apologizing for the wait WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF MAKING AN APPOINTMENT IF THEY WON'T RESPECT YOUR TIME?... the place is filthy, and most importantly their equipment is super old, archaic, outdated, just google their laser make and model and you'll see. I wanted to talk to the owner to let him/her know about the way their staff treats its clients but of course they didn't let me... not even the manager (who is as rude if not more than anyone). I wouldn't want to admit to the world that i use botox. However this place needs ti be reviewed. Don't come here ever it's the absolute worst place you could get Botox, facial peels, or anything else they do here!!!! So I came here to get rid of my mad face (Botox) and the they left me bruised up and didn't even do a good job. I've done it enforce so I know what a good job vs. a bad job is. This is worse than bad. I got to my appointment at 2. I wasn't seen until 45 minutes later!!!! Seriously this is too long to wait for anything. I had bought a groupon for this place which was mistake #1 on my part. After making me wait for almost an hour they ushered me into a laser room saying how sorry they were to make me wait, they were waiting for a room for my laser. I said, "I'm not getting a laser!!!" oh so then they put me in another room. When I had my consult the nurse was clueless. I talked to the manager about the wait time and she gave me a discount if I got additional units, so I agreed (mistake #2). I got Botox in my forehead and crows feet. I left thinking well thank god that's over...I'm never coming back to that place! 12 days later I have to come back to this awful place! The Botox gave me severe headaches for 2 days right after( supposedly a side effect) never happened before. What's worse is that I still had the same frown lines! So they don't do refunds and so they said try would retouch. My appointment was at 12:15 I wasn't taken into the rooms until 12:55 (45 min wait again)! They said yea sorry about the wait, I felt the manager was being condescending and fake. So they fixed it, not waiting on the results to review! This place SUCKED!!! Unprofessional and inconsiderate. I got the Groupon for the six laser hair removal treatments. My first visit here, I spent 2 hours in the waiting room. They didn't bother telling me or any of the other clients up front that all but one of their machines had broken down. I spent those 2 hours listening to the employees gossip about each other like a bunch of 12 year-old's at a slumber party. My last visit, I was late because they didn't bother letting me know they had moved locations. (By the way, they are not on Lexington Ave. anymore! So don't go there. :I ) During the treatments, I felt very uncomfortable. One of the girls would pour on the gel without using any sort of towels to protect my clothing. After she was done, she didn't even bother wiping any of it away, she just gave me a small washcloth and left. she used so much gel, I had to rummage through the cabinets to find paper towels so I could finish the job. If you must go here, plan on waiting at least 45 minutes and plan on going home to change clothes before going out anywhere. read more

I bought a daily deal comprised of 2 ipls (photofacials) fo $89. You get what you pay for. My experience, although not bad, was not great. The staff is nice, trying to up sell u on additional procedures, not bad. Nonetheless my Ipl was weak, I definately got what i paid for. I will still go back for my 2nd one because the first one was not terrible, it was just too simple. Yet I would most definately NOT pay full price for one; not there at least. I felt they used a very low grade laser, ( A 2 FOR $89 one) I felt nothing and did not see much diference, unlike other ipls i've received in the past. I hope my 2nd visit proves more satisfying, If so I will make sure to update my rating. For now a 2-3 star seems fair. read more

I purchased a deal on Groupon for Botox. Yep, Botox. I really needed to have my snarly "in between my eyes" muscle just mellow out for a while. They needed to take a chill pill if you know what I mean. After purchasing the Groupon, I then read the reviews on Yelp. Had I done that before I purchased it, I probably wouldn't have. At this point, the only service I can comment on is the Botox, and I give it a 5 STAR!!! The reason for the overall 4 star, is the reception area floor was dirty and the location is a little shady - although right across from the El Cajon Fire Department with all the hotties getting in their little fire trucks when I was leaving...where was I? oh, yeah, the Botox. I was on time for my appointment and was in and out in about 45 min total. Very happy about that because I do not like to wait. From the moment I walked in, everything was fast and thorough. The receptionist was friendly and shortly after handing in my completed paperwork, I was called in by the nurse person. I was taken to a room and Brie, the office manager, came in to talk with me about what I was having done and other services they offered like laser hair removal - which they offer a great deal on. I did opt for 5 more units of Botox just to make sure the little suckers in between my eyes don't come back to life for a while. Plus, it was only $25 or $5 per unit. I have had Botox before but my eye muscles are so crazy strong that the amount was not enough, I actually had an MD at another facility hit my bone with the needle once and also give me a little scar. At EC Medical Group, Amanda (who I requested) administered my happiness in a syringe, and was super thorough at getting ALL the spots that contributed to my angry face when not angry. Amanda was very good with pain too. No ice, which was new to me, but you couldn't even tell I had anything done when I walked out. No swelling or redness. Fast forward, 4 days later - Best Botox I have ever had. Definitely going back for this. I am really really really happy - and look it too! read more

One year ago I made the awful decision to have laser hair removal done here. You can read my previous reviews for the details. I went to my dermatologist a few months ago and spoke to him about the scars on my chin. He said with scarring "time is your friend" and to give it a year to continue healing before I tried cosmetic procedures to try to minimize them. The year has passed and the scars are still obvious. With all the money they're making by overbooking you think they'd invest in some comfortable chairs. It's downright rude how long they make you wait. My husband has been going to EC Medical Group for about a year now for tattoo removal and laser hair removal on his face. Although the tattoo is still not completely gone after a dozen or so treatments he is still satisfied with how much lighter it now looks and it is now light enough that he can get another tattoo over it that he actually likes. His first initial laser hair removal treatments were actually very good with little to no hair growth and absolutely no ingrown hairs along his neck. However, the past 4 treatments have been done by various new faces who lacked good bedside manner and whose treatments left patches of hair all over his face. He went back yesterday and had his treatment done by Patty who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and took her time in the laser hair removal. He will definitely continue to come back if the rest of the staff were a little more like Patty, THANK YOU! read more

DO NOT GO HERE !!! Everything is old outdated I was a customer for a while thinking I was getting my money's worth cuz it was so cheap! But exactly you get what you pay for. I got laser ipl and started getting REALLY dark spots that were never there when I asked they about it they said I needed to buy more treatments really so after they treated me they just magically appeared whatever! Then the Botox it's nothing absoutly nothing you might as well just wash your face with water cuz it will look the same when I waited there 10 days to come back they said they would redo it all for free and they didn't no what happend. I want to start off by saying that the nurses are very nice and make you feel comfortable during your treatments. That is the only positive. This place is horrid. I went in for my fifth round of laser hair removal today and was repulsed by the condition of the facility. It seems that this place is getting worse every time I go in. The reception area was filthy. The front door had greasy hand smears all over the glass and the fountain had brown gunk floating in it. In the treatment room I noticed that the floor was filthy and there were ants crawling all over the windowsill. BEWARE of the robes they offer you to wear during your treatment! There was gel all over the inside of the robe from the last patient. The gel is used to lubricate your skin and the laser gun; you can only imagine what areas they had the hair lasered from. The bottle of gel that they use on your skin does not have a disposable lid on it and the nurse put the applicator directly on my skin! YUCK. I feel like there are many health code violations in this place. In addition to the unclean office, I had an appointment at 5 and when I arrived the place was packed. They have a tiny reception area and people were everywhere; the seats were filled, people were standing against the wall, in front of the door, and leaning against the reception counter. Several people showed up after me and I ended up being the last person left after 45 minutes of waiting. I sat there for another 10 minutes before they took me back. By the time I was finished it was 6:10! This made me especially angry because my last two appointments they called me and asked if they could move it out two weeks because there machines broke and they were overbooked. Overall, I would not recommend this place at all! I feel sorry for the nurses that work there because I feel like they could find a much better facility to work at. read more

I bought a deal on groupon for ipl treatments which were a good deal but honestly if I'd know how the place is before buying I would of never bought the deal. Every time I went was just random and kind of crazy in the lobby, they almost always are running late and the lobby is small and not very comfortable. One young receptionist is very awkward and a bit rude at times (I don't recall her name). Every time I went in I got a different person doing the treatment which was described differently by each girl. I was told that an ipl was not recommended for rosacea and that I would get a rejuv instead. Although I did see some improvements it was definitely not even close as to results I have had going somewhere else with an Ipl, on top of that they can't do the nose! hello! that's where I need most work. My last appointment was totally screwed up, I got a reminder call a week early for the end of my series at 5:45, when I called back and said my appt was not till next week the receptionist just asked if I had proof that my appt was a week ahead. I assured her I couldn't of had a face treatment just 3 weeks apart, then she said something like "well we have been having problems with people's appointments but can you make it?" ughhh, I just wanted to get it over with and never go back. Bottom line, the place is dirty and unorganized and I really don't think their laser machines are state of the art. This place is not a calm, relaxing spa, so if you go, expect it to be hectic. I was extremely disappointed with the BOTOX. It didn't take. I went back for a touch-up, That didn't take either. When I complained, inquiring if the BOTOX gets watered down too much, I was told that the problem was my "thick muscle". I have been getting BOTOX for 10 years and never had that happen any place else. It has always worked. So I asked for my money back, but was told no because they had to pay for the Botox and it wouldn't be fair. What isn't fair is charging me for something they didn't deliver, making an excuse about it, and expecting me to be OK with that. I went in for an appointment yesterday because of my hot flashes and menopause symptoms. The staff was very friendly I was taken back to an office and Dawn drew my blood to check my hormone levels. After my blood work comes back she is going to customize my hormone with natural Bioidentical hormones. I was given a brochure with lots of information on hormone and the effect they have on my body. Went into EC Medical group after talking with Clint about hormone therapy. I had Dawn run my blood labs to find out I was low on testosterone. She then explained to me how getting my hormone levels in check will positively effect my health and lead to a longer life. I've been on hormone therapy for two months now and would recommend it to everyone! I have more energy, feel better, and can see obvious changes in my physique. Hi, the Botox results I receive in this location are about 50 percent less than going to other Botox injection services. Although staff is courteous, results is what brings back customers. I actually gave this location three opportunities to get it right. Well the results were disappointing with Botox at least. In order to do touch ups the charge you an additional 50 dollars per area. read more

I also bought the groupon for laser treatments and I used 5 of the 6 appointments. I have done laser before so it was suppose to be a touch up and after 5 appointments there was no change. I tried taking with them but nothing changed. They go too fast before the area is warmed up so the laser does not have time to work. I started going somewhere else and a previous employee said they do it on purpose so you'll buy more sessions! I've been concidering taking legal action. I've never done that before but what they are doing to people is unethical. I had to wait a few times and there were members of the staff that were not always nice (although there were some that were very nice.) But that's not why I rated low. Awful place. I bought the Botox groupon deal. They cancelled two appts on me in a row. Then the third time I'm in a waiting room with 15 or more people for over an hour. Finally I get in a room (a dirty, cold room). I buy an additional area for $99.00 . 8 days later I have absolutely no results. Not on my forehead not near my eyes! I call to ask for a refund because this place scares me and I think they used water instead of Botox. They talk me into another full treatment both areas no charge. 8 days later my forehead looks good but again no results for my eyes! Waist of time and money. Bad customer service including long waits with no acknowledgment one time I was told they would like to re-schedule my appointment after waiting 30 minutes due to being busy. Another great experience yesterday! I've been coming here since they were on Lexington and have never been disappointed. Ashley at the front desk was very accommodating when I got stuck at an earlier doctor appointment that I thought would make me late. Ended up being a little early! Dawn and Nelly took great care of me. Got an EC peel, Titan and tattoo removal on a couple of HUGE brown spots. Finished with 3 areas of botox. I walked out so happy that I forgot to leave a tip!
