The young lady with green hair (I don't remember her name) didn't have any clue what she was doing. I went in for an asymmetrical pixie cut. She looked at the picture and proceeded to butcher my hair, I had to go get it fixed. She then attempted to wax my eyebrows which she admitted she was not able to do well. She was however friendly and talked a lot (thats why I gave 3 stars instead of 1). That was the best part of the whole experience. Its to expensive for a low quality haircut

I appreciated that she walked me through each step of the haircut, and she taught me how to style my hair as well. I was immediately welcomed by Stephanie, and I was offered a beverage (water, coke, Diet Coke, tea, or coffee). The waiting chairs were comfortable, and I enjoyed the vibe from all the staff. You can tell they enjoy each other's company, and this made for an overall pleasant environment. I cannot recommend The Refinery Hair Lounge enough. I will be back!

This was incredibly smooth and simple to do online and I really appreciated that they were cool with texting. The space is vibrant, the music was on-point (Trevor Lamont mixes on the speaker - hell yeah), and the cut was exactly what I was looking for. I don't cut my hair often and just keep it long and layered, so the stylist taught me how to do basic styling that fit my personal routines. I received a confirmation email for my appointment but no further communication. When I arrived, there was no receptionist to check me in. Multiple stylists saw me standing at the front desk yet no one made any effort to acknowledge me, inquire about my appointment, or offer assistance. I called the salon one day, and they were able to schedule me for the following day. They put me down with Ryan, and I'm so glad they did! Ryan took time to talk me through my desired style and how it would work best with my particular hair texture. He was very nice to talk to, and the finished product was exactly what I wanted! These spots were fun, but I never felt comfortable going there and always felt out of place. Enter Scissorhands. This locally owned and operated salon is run by the very lovely Mona who has been in the hair business for years. Mona is so knowledgeable and wise when it comes to taking care of your hair and does a beautiful cut. She was the first hair stylist that taught me more about the best way to style my hair and shampoo my hair. I am now able to better take care of my hair and I'm not intimidated by it. Well I dyed my hair at home because the regrowth was horrible, and she refused to take me back as a client. I even was willing to wait until November. New salon will take me, and do my highlights. Worse salon I've ever been to by far. And she didn't even know how to do eyebrows. I had to pluck after she was done.
