Don't go here. I got a gift mani/pedi living social coupon and it took 2 months to get an appointment. Finally arrived to find a very very uncomfortable massage chair (I have a bruise on my back from the kneaders 4 days later), and the job she did on my nails was lacking. I could have done this myself. It's very unprofessional to require texting to make appointments, so I walked in to make mine. She seemed miffed that I didn't want to text a business. Even then, my appointment was set for 7pm, and she called me at 6:45 wanting to know why I missed my 6:00 pm appointment. Uh, duh? While I was in there on my rescheduled appt., she yelled at some other customers who were waiting and a mother stepped outside for a sec and left her 12 yr old child in the waiting area. Apparently she doesn't think 12yr olds are old enough to sit by themselves without damaging property. Do t waste your time here. Purchased a Groupon for a mani-pedi. On the certificate it suggested (3) ways to contact them - email, phone or text. I tried email, no response for two days. I tried calling but each time a recorder picked up. Finally got an answer via text and the person would not pick up the phone to call me and book appointment, only text me back and forth. Plus the appointments are booked out 6 weeks. I contacted Groupon and was issued a refund. read more

Purchased a living social coupon which I am currently in the process of requesting a refund for. Tried to set up an appointment before I went out of town in March (before coupon expired) and when I finally got a hold of someone this woman was booked until June. Go to verify an appointment time and she tells me my coupon was only good for $20 towards service ... So what, you overbooked yourself so I am being punished? Don't waste your time. This lady is crazy. I bought a living social for a mani/pedi. I call to make an appointment on Feb. 18 and no one answers. I receive a response to my voicemail via text message (strange) asking what I needed done. Did you not listen to my voicemail? I guess not. And her text made absolutely no sense, I quote "hi this is Cheryl how many how to you" ... um what? I respond, "Hi, it would just be me and I need a mani/pedi appointment" her response, "what did you need your appointment for"... WOW! really?! "... a mani/pedi" I am then told that due to the volume of customers due to the living social deal that I can't get in until May 25. Again... really? this is February 18. After much confusing banter through back and forth text messages including her trying to schedule me all the way into June with this text message, "how about June eighth10" uhh what was that?, I get an apointment for April 15 at 6:30pm. April 15th rolls around and my appointment time is written out in plain text message from her for 6:30 dating back to February 18th, although when she texts me to confirm on the day of, its now at 7. "I have it written down for 6:30pm. Did it change?" She said she's always had it written down for 7pm. This woman is nuts. I have no idea what kind of work she does, it could be great and worth the hassle of going through this scheduling nightmare but if you sign up to do a living social, you better be ready for the increase in customers and not overwhelm yourself. I expected a little delay but over 3 months out? And then to have my appointment time change when she is the one who told me 6:30? It was all too much for me so I contacted living social and am getting my money back. Her business skills are extremely lacking. Im sure much of this mis-communication and ridiculous text messages to communicate with potential customers would have been resolved if she could just answer the phone. Very unprofessional, I'm surprised they are in business. ***Note*** I could never actually redeem my medi-pedi because she wouldn't respond to my texts or voicemail. I sent her an email that told her I was available after 3 pm twice and got two dates from her, one for 8 am and the other at 9 am. She also asked me for my Groupon number so she could redeem it before we even set the appointment, which isn't normal for Groupon vouchers, I've been using them for 3 years and never had someone else ask for it. Horrible experience. Will never return. First it took almost three months to get an appt. after many text messages back and forth an appt. was scheduled. She said she was too busy to take phone calls and texting is what she prefers. Never heard this of a business before. During my wait I called to see if I could get in earlier. She said if she had an earlier appt she would have given it to me. How rude is that. I arrived at 6:40 p.m. for my 7:00 p.m. appt. for a mai/pedi with a Deal Chicken coupon. I arrived early because I left early due to not being sure of location. When I arrived Sheryl asked me to leave and come back at 7 because she had to go to the bank. She said "since I was early." I don't know if the place had a back door, but she never came out the front to "go to the bank". I waited in my car. If she never left, why couldn't I have waited in her waiting room? Mani was horrible. I had polish on skin around each nail. When I asked her to get it off she said she tried and couldn't. I asked her to try again. She removed some but not all and ended up saying that was the best she could do and that the polish I chose was hard to work with. Then remove it from your choices and don't work with it. The polish was very thick that she used. There was uneven color on my nails due to some areas being painted thicker than others. Horrible. During pedi after she had applied polish she stepped on my foot and messed up the polish on three toes. She then said I had my foot in the wrong place. I had my foot where she told me to put it beside the foot soak pan. She proceeded to fix this by adding more of the thick polish. I asked her to do these over. She only did the big toe over and while she was doing this she splashed nail polish remover on my toes. She never bothered to do the other toes over. Unfortunately, by this time I was so upset I didn't say anything to her. She was very critical. She asked me many, many time to relax. Her tone was never relaxing. She then said for someone retired I was pretty tight. She then started in on my hair. Said my grey would make me look 10 years older. Excuse me. I wasn't there to get her personal opinion of my hair. After reading these reviews, I can see there is a problem with this owner and her people skills. I will never go here again. And why did she need my address and phone number written on the deal chicken voucher? I will be contacting Deal Chicken regarding her lack of services and professionalism. read more

I think it is highly unprofessional that you "text" the person that runs the shop. I had bought the Groupon for the mani/pedi for $20. It was the worst job I had ever seen. I totally agree with the above review. I had to make my Pedicure appt 2 months in advanced. Then she called and changed the date several times. She even called and texted me on one of the old dates to ask if I was lost or why was I running late. When the day did come for my appt she called that morning to change it from 1:00 to 1:15. Then I get there and have to wait an extra 30 minutes. She could not get my old polish off so I said just paint over it. There was no water tub just a plug in thing that she filled up at the sink. She asked me several questions twice (where do you work ? Do you have any kids?). Then she acted like I had been there before. Like she knew me. I would not recommend. She can call me all she wants. I bought a mani/pedi deal from this salon from Living Social. The first time I tried to redeem, no one answered the phone. Now they have a message that they are only booking appointments via email or text message. The message says they are getting too many calls to answer. I can't really give this experience more than one star. If you are not prepared to respond to new customers, then please do not do these Living Social or Groupon type deals. I understand that when you buy these you may have to wait to get in, but I'm already dissatisfied. If I don't hear back soon, I will be requesting a refund from Living Social and take my money elsewhere even for full price. read more

I totally agree with LC M.'s review on 4/19/2013. The absolute same thing happened to me. At least this place is consistent which is the best thing I can say about them. This is the most unprofessional place I have ever been to. I will NEVER go back. You have to text to get an appointment. And then it will be wrong and you won't find out until you get there. You will then be told it's your fault and she cannot accommodate you. You must reschedule and come back. When I returned for my rescheduled appointment, it took her 65 minutes to get to me. Sure, right, no problem, I have all day to wait around for you while you only have one customer in the entire salon. I also got to sit in the most uncomfortable massage chair I have ever been in. Actually it wasn't even a message chair, just rigged up to look like one. I had to take Aleve afterwards to help with the back pain. I should have just walked out right then and there. She allows too many to be purchased, so the 1st appointment I could get was 3 months after I bought the gift card. She only texts which makes the process that much more difficult. Do not use this salon. They are unable to make and keep appointments, have had to reschedule over and over and then when she confirms my appointment it's the wrong time. Sheryl is so personable and easy to laugh with - she has a great sense of humor. I have been very pleased with my mani/pedi. I opted to upgrade to shellac nails instead of the mani. She does a lovely job and they last so much longer than I have experienced before. Nearly 3 and a half weeks! I can't wait to try some of her other services like massage and facials. I had such a pleasant experience at Persona! The salon is stylishly and uniquely decorated in an old Hollywood fashion, and Sheryl is absolutely delightful. I purchased the Living Social mani/pedi deal, and it was WELL worth the wait. Not only does she have the latest colors in nail polish, but I found the application excellent. Coming from an extremely clumsy person, I typically can expect to have nail polish on my fingers for about 30 mins after leaving a salon (I can't sit still and always ding them) but this lasted without a single chip running errands on Friday, then through a weekend at the lake, AND then a Monday night concert. I was surprised to read some negative reviews about the wait. Given that she's sold 800+ AND it's such a good deal, I found the wait to be reasonable, and expected. would definitely recommend Sheryl and Persona to anyone who enjoys a good pampering! read more

I highly DO NOT recommended this salon!!! Purchased a certificate through living social website for mani/pedi and was never able to get an appointment during the voucher promo time. Salon can not handle the number of appointments that it receives through these social websites as there is only one station in the salon for mani/pedi. Appointments can only be made via text message. Text message nor phone call were returned. Eventually got an appointment was finally made and the owner did not show up for my appointment...had to take son to work and I was not notified of the conflict. This place is HORRIBLE. I didn't mind using text to make my appointments per owners request because it's more convenient for me anyway. BUT I did mind having to wait two months to get in for my appointment because she kept on changing up the dates and rescheduling and cancelling (baby died of SIDS...not sure then she had another excuse about how she was in school, etc). And the text messages is great evidence when I do call BBB. Before the FINAL time she scheduled my appt, I texted her today before my appointment and she tried to tell me a different time and then when I arrived, she was arguing with someone in her lobby and was just rude. I was thisclose to walking out. She had a color chart with the nail colors instead of the actual nail polish itself. I didn't like that at all. Then she sassed with me because I put my foot on her glass table when I was pulling my legs up. It's a business, not your house...come on. Then she proceeds to bring me back to a uncomfortable and old chair that doesn't even massage and she handed me a bean neck pillow to support my head. 3 hours later, I'm experiencing back and neck problems. She had a plug in massaging water tub and she didn't even polish my toes right. AND she used a metal rope to separate my toes; that didn't feel soothing or good. She was really rough and she got polish all over my skin and in between my toes. I didn't care, I just wanted to get out of there even though I had an amazon local deal for mani/pedi. I just wanted to see it with my own eyes so I can report more to the BBB and the KY cosmetology assoc. I was told (don't bother them on the phone, they only text and then only ultimatums, not options) there were no appointments available on any Friday, any Saturday or any day after 5PM. Doesn't that seem curious? Especially when they list all those possibilities in their business info. I got my money (in the form of a credit) back from Living Social. I can't help but wonder if the owner intends to get the groupon/living social bucks and never have to serve a single person who bought the coupon. Like many, I purchased the living social Mani/pedi deal for myself & coworker that was leaving. I purchased & tried to schedule in late Jan, late Feb was the earliest I could get in- no big deal. I've purchased living social & groupons before & have always used my smartphone to redeem so I didn't Think this would be any different. I arrive at her beautifully decorated salon. Its such a cool space!! I show her my voucher & Cheryl tells me that I need to print it off at the fed ex down the street, pay & bring the voucher back for a refund or pay for this visit & use the voucher later. Figuring I'd need a pedi when spring hits I agreed to pay & schedule another appointment. This was the worse Mani pedi that I've ever gotten! It looked like my 9yr old got ahold of my nail Polish & decided to paint my nails. The Polish didn't even last a week. She didnt even use a base or top coat. At least my daughter knows to do that!!Needless to say, I took my voucher back to be redeemed & cancelled my future appointment. I feel bad about sharing this experience because Cheryl was REALLY cool, very sweet & interesting to talk to (which is why i gave the salon an extra star). Her salon is decorated with really cute & sassy old Hollywood decore. Maybe she should be an interior decorator! I'm embrassed for my coworkers experience if she hasn't gone there yet. Was given a livingsocial gift certificate for a mani/pedi took months to get an appointment. Scheduled appointment months in advance and the doors were looked, lights were off, and no one was there. I text the owner like it said on gift certificate to find out if anyone could still assist me after waiting over an hour after my appointment, and I never received a text or call. This business is very unprofessional and if they continue to treat their customers this way they will not be in business much longer!!!!! I only give this place 1 star because its the lowest possible score you can give. VERY VERY VERY unprofessional. The best and quickest way to reach the owner is via text, which is a hassle on its own, much less the attitude you receive in response to your questions. You can't even request an appt or ask if a day is open to make an appt without surrendering your first born child! I am in a wedding Sept 27th and asked if I could get an appt for the 25th for a mani/pedi. I was told I have to give her my full name, phone number, voucher number and expiration date just to see if the day was available to redeem my mani/pedi living social voucher. I asked how much extra on top of the voucher would acrylics be on the manicure and I was told $40! that is on top of the $20 already spent on the voucher. Keep in mind the voucher is for a $40 service, so if you wanted a mani/pedi with acrylic nails instead of just polish, that would be a grand total of $80 for a mani/pedi, can we say RIDICULOUS!! It was going to be an extra $20 on top of the voucher for shellac nails, so a $60 mani/pedi if you wanted shellac. I asked how much services were minus the living social voucher because some of the other wedding party was interested in getting a mani/pedi, and I was then told by Sheryl Nalley that she could no longer converse with me until she had my full name, phone number, voucher number and expiration date. I gave her all the information she requested minus the voucher number because I still wasn't told if I could come in the 25th, and after reading other reviews I wasn't going to offer up the voucher number and it be marked as used when in fact it had not been used. She then proceeded to tell me that her and I were not compatible and for me to just give the voucher to someone else and let them use it?!? I don't know about anyone else, but I know I can go other places and pay half the price of what Sheryl Nalley charges and the services received would be just as good or better as what I could have received at her salon. Not to mention treated with professionalism and respect! I would not recommend this place to anyone, not even my worst enemy, frankly I don't see how she is still in business. read more

DO NOT LET THIS WOMAN TOUCH YOUR HAIR!!!! I have never had someone screw my hair up this bad in 20 years. I came in with a picture and also my highlighted hair and explained what I wanted. She proceeded to foil my hair. When done she said oh that was just the low lights, I sat there, she then washed and dried my hair and THEN proceeded to re-foil my hair with blonde---but only two inches of the roots. After the second washing and drying she cut my angled Bob into an unwanted rounded Bob and way too short and my hair was BROWN!! Except for the two inch roots she put blonde on. She insisted it would lighten, yeah right. So I had to go back for her to "fix it". Now she put chunks of blonde about 1/4 to 1/2 inch from my scalp leaving the other 2 inch blonde pieces. Needless to say my hair looks like crap and I will never ever let her touch my hair again. I also have a Groupon for a mani/pedi, she is booking for late June which is great since it expires in May Very poor business practice, it also took several days for a return text/call, then she had the wrong time which she had given me. read more

Although it did take a while to get an appointment, anyone who consistently purchases Living Social or Groupon deals should be prepared for that. When businesses have a large number of deals purchased, that is simply a given - they can only do so much. I purchased two deals and took a friend along with me. The three of us were the only ones in the salon, and we had a great time. Sheryl is quite entertaining and went out of her way to pamper us. Both my friend and I had a very relaxing and enjoyable mani-pedi. The salon is quite unique and eclectic - just a really cool atmosphere. I would definitely go back. read more

I am so glad to see that people are taking the time to review this place. I am still trying to get a refund. I was told by the owner, after calling, texting, emailing, "she didn't want my business, and that I was a negative person" and to contact Groupon . My voucher was purchased through Amazon Local, and she told me to contact "GROUPON", they in turn was extremely helpful and told me that I needed to contact Amazon Local, one of their competitors. I only see terrible reviews for this Persona Salon. I usually check this out, but it was just a mani/pedi..... I must say I was pleased to know that it was not me, but the company!
