My husband recommended me this business since he knew the owners. I brought in my brand new long dress for shortening which I paid $500. I ended up going 4 times for fitting with the alteration lady Silva. Last fitting day was 3 days before my husband's niece's wedding. The front desk girl Alin, who handed me the dress was unpleasantly surprised when I indicated I wanted to try the dress before leaving the store. I was shocked to see my beautiful dress ruined. I was more shocked of their unusually rude reaction. They both acted as if it was my fault for my dress being ruined. They flat out rejected and ignored my dissatisfaction of the poor work. The father who is the owner pretended he is not there but I can see him in the background. He did not even bother to come out to discuss the situation or resolve the issue. I managed to purchase a replacement from Macy's. Price tag was $750. I decided not to write a review out of respect to my husband's relationship with the family. However, after eight months, a mutual friend recently brought up to their attention my bad experience. One of the owners Beti, who was not present during my bad experience, she had the audacity to tell my friend that my story was not true and that the dress was ruined at another establishment after they did the work. That is a big lie. I have all the proofs and notes. I am disappointed the fact that I chose to forget the unpleasant experience I had at this establishment, but they still manage to continue hurting and insulting me instead acknowledging their mistake. read more

I've been coming here for years and the owner is extremely hospitable and polite. I have had clothes with stain where other cleaners could not remove them only to have them removed from this store. Also, several times I had tough to remove stains and they have been able to remove them with a quick turnaround. As a working professional I need to make sure my suits and ties are clean and look good and I have no hesitation bringing my clothes here. Also, I was actually present at the store when the negative reviewer was there and can ensure you it did NOT go down like it was described. My mom & I have been loyal customers for years. When we came to pick up many items, among them a high-quality coat bought from a luxury consignment store, the girl told us that they couldn't clean it because it came damaged at the lapels. This is 100% false: 1) The luxury consignment store has standards for the clothes it receives & does not buy or resell damaged clothing 2) It wasn't damaged when I purchased the item 3) It wasn't damaged when I came home and tried it on for my mom 4) I brought it to this dry cleaner right after purchasing. The girl then explained to me their process: first, the front desk worker inspects the items & takes them in; second, the person in the back takes the item & starts the dry-cleaning process. She told me that they don't clean or accept damaged items. Since that is their policy, I asked why the first person accepted the coat if it had already arrived at their store damaged. She had no answer for me, and that's when the older man began laughing at me. She began to contradict herself when telling me the 2nd person noticed the damage & couldn't clean it. I was still confused about how my coat was dropped off in mint condition & picked up uncleaned AND damaged. I offered her a hypothetical: What if between the first and second employees, the coat was damaged? That could potentially explain why it arrived in perfect condition, but was in poor condition as the cleaning process began. Once I asked that, the man came out from the back & started laughing, pointing in our faces, & yelling. He said I was blaming them for damaging the item & lying about it. He also said that because the item is thrifted, it is poor quality & already damaged. The girl then likened my situation to them "finding the customers' keys in the pockets" (???). I repeated my question again, because my ONLY source of confusion still is: WHY was my coat was dropped off in mint condition, and returned in outright damaged condition? This is when their lack of professionality intensified. 1. The girl blamed us for not picking the items up ASAP on the scheduled date (7/17). As I said, we've been customers for years, & never had an issue with late pick-up. If anything, since they've had the damaged coat in their possession for such a long period of time, they had ample time to contact us re: the item & let us know that they can't clean it. Calling us ASAP when they discovered the issue = clearing themselves of ANY possible blame for the damage. It also would've showed us they're professional and punctual. 2. The older man (which the girl told with us is the owner) was verbally threatening, rather than de-escalating the situation. He yelled throughout our exchange, and b/c I had my service animal with me, I had to ask him multiple times to lower his voice. I asked him why he was laughing & yelling at me, and he gave no answer each time. As an asian woman, and with my mom speaking broken English, we can only presume that his racism prevented him from taking us seriously. 3. The older man became physically threatening when I told him & the girl I wanted to end the argument and pay for the dry-cleaned items & be reimbursed for the damaged coat. While the girl initially agreed, the older man had other ideas. First, he came closer to us from the back of the counter all the way to shove his finger at my face and laugh at me. He crossed over to the other side of the counter and towered over me. He held the dry-cleaned clothes + the damaged coat in his hands, and forced it onto my body. He told me to take all the items and leave w/o paying. We were offended by that because we still want to support small businesses. I told them I did not need their charity; I can pay for the items and leave. He didn't listen, and continued to shove the clothes in my face, preventing me from being able to see anything in front of me. My mom ended up having to take the clothes because my vision was obstructed, and I was handling my service dog. read more

Under the previous ownership, I spent thousands of dollars here. I was between two homes with an extreme allergy issue in the new home, so EVERYTHING had to be removed from one house and dry cleaned before it could enter the second home. All was well for several years and service was 5-stars under the previous owner. One brand new shirt was returned with burn holes from the press being too hot, but when discovered and brought to their attention, the now new owner refused to acknowledge that such damage could occur. I just had the most HORRIBLE experience with this dry cleaner! I went in two weeks ago to have my wool pea coat cleaned, my favorite $170 fitted J-Lo pea coat. Today was the first day since I got it back that I wore it out. The shoulders were tight and I notice that the arms were short. Looking in a mirror I realized with horror that the hemline was shortened, and that the coat had been SHRUNK! Looking on the inside the lining is blousing out way too far, and putting it on the armpits are squeezing under and around my arm, meaning that the shell of the coat has been shrunk. And even though this is already horrible, it gets worse. I was upset so I called them and spoke to a lady about my coat, she said to bring it in. I am a reasonable person and I did not want to go in upset, so I waited a few hours to go in; looked up ways to un-shrink wool on the internet (there are none), and went and visited friends to get into a better mood about the day. Finally I realized that 1) it was probably an accident and that 2) I've been there twice before and this had never happened. They were probably nice people and even though I could not expect them to buy me a new coat, I could at least expect $20 back for them ruining it. So I called to let them know I was on my way in, and that I would need to speak to a manager. The man on the phone said, yes, I am the manager I will be here. So I park, go in and introduce myself as the person who just called and tell him that my coat has been shrunk from their last dry cleaning. He said, "We don't shrink anything here, get out." Now, I am a reasonable person, and I was quite shocked. So I said, "yes, here I can show you that it is shrunk," as I put on the coat to demonstrate. He gruffly said, "our machines don't shrink anything, get out!" So I am standing there with my mouth open, just shocked that this guy was acting this way, and I said, "I can understand if it was a mistake, I've been here three times before and the two times before this have been fine, but this time my coat is SHRUNK. I would just like my money back because you just ruined a $170 coat!" That's when he said, "We don't shrink anything and you are not getting your money back!" and walked away back into the dry cleaning back area. I am looking around for any sense of the rational world of civilization that had just vanished when I stepped into this store, and I believe I said aloud "f**k." Then he turned and yelled at me, "F*** YOU; WH*RE!" That's when I decided it was time to leave. I HAVE NEVER been treated like this before, and I going to make sure this place is reported to the BBB and any other governing agencies of this shop. I am aghast at the treatment that I received, and the fact that I went in there with the most compliant of perspectives and trying to talk in a very reasonable manner to the manager, whom I think is the actual owner of the business, that this was his response. And the worse thing is my coat is STILL RUINED. Needless to say I would recommend staying away from this place! read more

I used to go here every other week. I recently dropped off a comforter and other dress clothes. When asked about the size of my twin sized comforter, the latest manager/owner stated that it looks like a king sized comforter, and proceeded to charge me the king size price. My strongest suggestion is to make sure they are honest with you!!! For me, they have charged me for alterations that were not done, and put plastic covers on items without being dry cleaned. Rather than tsking me (as other have) for bringing so much, the owner surprisingly said that while he appreciates having a few days for a larger order, he would have it ready /whenever/ I needed it. He joked with me while sorting the clothing and then gave me a 10% discount because I was a new customer. About 36 hours later, I picked up the order. BONUS: he showed me that one of the skirts had not been pressed perfectly, but that he hadn't had time to get them to re-do it...could he please keep it another day to make it right? When looking to give someone business one of the things I look for is someone who is honest. I came across a vintage Dodgers baseball cap and wanted to spice it up by getting it cleaned since it was somewhat dusty. Initially someone at the front desk was helping me but then went and got the owner. The owner told me exactly how to clean it myself and it came out beautifully. But if you want to have your cloths looking good, and that includes having regular laundry done, at Eco-Clean, it's worth every cent. I'm living out of motels currently, and, I'm extremely busy. Took my blazer jacket and gray jeans which had a stain. My blazer needed to be altered and the stains on my pants needed to be removed. The girl at the counter was a very kind and friendly who helped me out. She directed me to the alteration lady to take my size and get me fitted. The experience was great but it doesn't end there. When I returned to pick up my articles of clothing, the same girl was at the counter who gave me my clothes and to my pleasant surprise she only charged me for the alteration and not the stain removal. Until about 15 years ago, I had a cycle of switching dry cleaners every year or two due to dissatisfaction with quality and customer service. I just came to expect that this industry was poor across the board and it would simply be a mater of time before my next dry cleaner ruined a piece of clothing and denied responsibility. Eco Dry Cleaners has been a very notable exception to that rule. Owners Arthur and Mary are as friendly as they are competent. Clothes come back consistently in great shape. I'm very thankful to have found this gem of a business and can't imagine going anywhere else. I'd recently moved to Pasadena and love the area, & as you know, when one moves to a new locale, the worst part is ferreting out essential businesses, a new dry cleaners, nail salon, tailor or seamstress etc. I'd read the positive reviews for Eco-Clean & was really truly excited at the prospect of finally being able to feel Politically Correct when taking my finery in to be dry cleaned. An added bonus was when I'd called to inquire about the dry cleaning charge for a pair of pants, & one leg to be hemmed. I was told the dry cleaning would be $3.50 & the hem $4.00! I was feeling Pretty, Pretty good as I've always been known to love a great deal. I'd arrived at Eco-Clean on a Friday with a friend, who was also searching for a new dry cleaners. The owner was both friendly and accommodating. He let me know that my pants would be ready by Monday at 5:00 p.m. All systems were go! Meanwhile, I kept hearing a voice in my head cheering "Yes We Can!" I've so much wanted to be part of President Obama's vision for a new & improved America, & this was another small, eco friendly, baby step in the right direction. Monday evening I went in to retrieve my favorite black pants. The woman who'd greeted me didn't even ask me for my name or receipt, & then went to fetch my cleaned item. I mentioned to her that it was a rare thing for people to remember one's name so quickly, and let her know I was delighted! She walked back towards me with my pants hanging on a hanger, without the usual plastic over it. Because this was my first time in the establishment, I decided to take the pants off of the hanger & check out the hem. The first thing I noticed was the stitching on the hem. It wasn't even, so very nicely I said to the owner, "Um, the hem doesn't seem to be sewn evenly." He retorted without glancing at the work, "It looks fine." "I'm sorry but please look at this, it isn't sewn straight." He wasn't the least bit apologetic, & with attitude in his voice said "She did her best." I'd also noticed that a section of my pants were Really wet (7" in length/width), so I'd mentioned it to him. He said, "Well, they were just pressed." Period. I took a closer look at them and realized that the pants were pressed unevenly on both legs (REALLY unevenly), and not only that, but I could see that there were two distinct lines where they'd tried to press them two different times (on both legs). I said "Excuse me, but my pants were pressed unevenly. Would you please fix them for me?" He said angrily, "You are too finicky" (or something like it). I said "I don't think that what I'm asking you to do is out of the question." He then loudly retorted something like "Okay Lady, I'll press them for you!" A minute later he gives me my pants, and I look down and see that there is still a bit of food on them! They didn't look as though they'd been cleaned at all. I took my fingernail and scraped off the food, to see if it would come off, and it did so easily. "I really don't understand why there's still food on them?" He said "You are a crazy lady who makes problems, you should go to a psychiatrist." I said, "Excuse me but you're yelling at me. I come to retrieve my pants & I find that the hem isn't sewn straight, it's pressed incorrectly, my pants have a large wet spot & they're still dirty." His Answer? "What do you expect for $3.50?" Excuse Me? The really scary thing is that while I was at the counter, a young woman came in with her wedding dress to be altered. It appeared from the conversation, as she was being fitted, that this was her first time having anything altered at Eco. Who in their right mind would take their wedding gown to a dry cleaners to be altered? She'd heard the conversation I'd had with the owner, but it hadn't seemed to faze her. What could she have been thinking? Perhaps, she was in a euphoric, wedding induced, blissed out state. All I could think of while walking out of the store was, if Eco-Clean couldn't even sew an even hem on my pants, what would they do to her formal gown? That poor girl, what was to become of her? I have come here repeatedly over the years, but no more. Why? True the clothes generally have been decently cleaned. But I am getting tired of the unfriendliness of the owner. Especially if you ask to use the coupon that appears on their website. First he claimed that it was "expired". When I said that it had no expiration date, he then said it should have been removed. When I protested further, he said that if he allowed me to use the coupon, he would have to raise the price that he was charging me (which he said was a "discount") so I would end up paying more. Yet when I asked to see his price list, he said that he didn't have one to show. Sheesh. Not only that, but it took him 7 days to have the clothes ready. Ugh. Suggest you go elsewhere. read more

I had my hat for clean . It was beautiful quality material hat. When I i picked up the hat was basically torn apart on top, damaged so badly. I showed the owner about this ,which he knew. He loudly said that it happened. How it works. It happened while cleaning. Not apologizing, not paying for the dAmage, instead he said it was hat fault, not their fault. Mothetfacker. This short midfle middle eastern guy was no way should not be in biz. I was to get back to work so I didn't want yo call police and paid the motherfscker .walked out. Now the hat is no use anymore.
