Very good healthy options and vegan friendly! I had the organic tofu pita with spicy Thai peanut sauce, it was so good and fresh. We also ordered a Thai chicken wrap it was delicious. Quick and good service!

Great smoothies. Employees understand vegan needs and provide a few options. Sandwiches get made very quickly. Would go back to try different smoothie flavors and other vegan options. I got the organic tofu wrap with spicy Thai sauce. The side was a cucumber salad, which the chef made sure was vegan. Sauce was not very spicy but the texture of the tofu was greAt!!

    Special: avocado chicken press

YUMMY!!! The avocado chicken press was stuffed and every single item just complimented each other. All ingredients tasted fresh. The wraps/sandwiches come with a side of pasta salad.. it's good, but I'm not a fan of pasta salad. My boyfriend swears by it, and eats there at least once a week. As good as the avocado chicken press was, I think I'd try everything on the menu until I found something I didn't like (if possible!) Reasonable prices for a filling meal, especially for a restaurant in the keys. Only 1 table with 4 seats, and I believe 1 table outside.

    Great food!

In Key Largo the #vegan choices are minimal but this place offered of few great options. I had a pecan veggie wrap. It's mostly a take out joint; I took my food someplace with a view. The wraps & pitas come with a side of macaroni salad and the lady running the place was astute enough to realize that if I was ordering a vegan sandwich I would want a vegan side dish and she switched it for me and then told me about it after, which was absolutely perfect and I thank her. She was swamped and juggling tasks but the details still mattered. I may be back on my way back north:)

Great fast healthy food. Is take mostly take out, they have some sitting inside & outside but quit small. But the quality makes up for it.

Decent lunch options for vegetarians/vegans. The lentil soup was flavorful. Will be back when visiting the Keys.

They even had non-egg items, always a huge plus for me since I have an egg sensitivity. I ordered the yogurt parfait which included lots of fresh fruit including banana, kiwi, strawberries, mandarin, plus granola, Greek yogurt and honey. We chose to eat at the cafe and food was presented with pretty floral fabric napkins. My husband's food came on a crystal platter - I assume from a thrift store to support their eco friendliness. Loved those special touches. Workers were very friendly too! We were encouraged to walk around the garden center while they prepared our food - and of course we did, it's magical!

You order at the window, and there were baby iguanas wandering around, adding to the charm. I tried the iced ube latte with coconut milk, but I was hoping for a stronger ube flavor. I also ordered the lox toast from the specials menu. It was good and fresh, but it didn't really stand out as something I'd go out of my way to order again. The highlight was definitely the atmosphere. Sitting outside in the sunshine surrounded by lush plants made it feel relaxing and refreshing, even though it's right off the roadside. Overall, a pleasant stop with a great ambiance if you're passing through.

Well here I am, back at Ballyhoos for some awesome food. You know I have been coming to Sal's…read moreBallyhoo's for so many years and finally decided to leave a review because quite honestly, this restaurant is awesome. I think it is one of the best seafood restaurants in Key Largo hands down. Not large but just right and a favorite for locals. I remember when they use to have the all you can eat Stone Crab, King Crab or Snow Crab for $75 per person. Those days are long gone but they are still firing on all cylinders. The menu is not enormous but it doesn't have to be as they stick to what they know best, mostly seafood with some burgers and sandwiches mixed in between. Can't go wrong with anything on their menu and they do have a Southern feel as a number of dishes have a little kick to them but do not fear, you can always ask them to leave the spicy seasoning off and you are good to go. On this occasion, I decided to go with their Black Bean Soup and the Grilled Mahi Mahi with Roasted Mushrooms. Both were awesome as expected and I really enjoyed the black bean soup; also, the mushrooms were amazing. Being Cuban you would think hey black beans are black beans but their recipe is bar none awesome. Service here is awesome and very laid back as we are in the Florida Key's . They really make you feel at home and are extremely courteous. Evenings are pretty busy and pretty packed so you may have to wait a bit to be seated but it is well worth the wait. Atmosphere is welcoming and you can hear the Jimmy Buffet tunes playing in the background to round out the Florida Key's feel. Feel like striking up a conversation well no problem, that is the norm and encouraged. Parking should not be a problem either but it can get a little packed in the evenings and on weekends. Overall it was a great experience but honestly I did not expect anything less. So if you are driving by mile marker 98.2 on the Overseas Highway, and are hungry for some good food, well keep your eyes peeled for the sign as you cannot miss it. Wishing you a great time in the keys. Enjoy and Bon Appétit m'es amis!

Marnie's…read morePinot Grigio was nice, as was my house lager (which ha DDB a bit of a sweet after taste). The tomato soup was great - it had pesto mixed in, making for an unexpected and appealing mix of flavors. The tuna sashimi was fine. The fried whole snapper was superb, and even perfectly plated (it looked like it was swimming on the plate). Marnie loved the sweet potato fries and the homemade ketchup with which they came for dipping. I devoured the sautéed green beans (with bacon salt). She loved the key lime crème brûlée - an unusual twist on a key lime pie, which would certainly work for someone who is gluten-free. And the lemon blueberry pie was sweet and tasty, although a little heavy.
