The owner came to our house dissapeared for close to 45 min downstairs with another guy, and as all our secuirty shows no one went to check outside the unit.. He said when they were done,the outcome said id need a new compressor, which was around 2 thousand , i said no thank you,, and he said ok it will just be the 95 for the visit i said im not paying a thing, your staff told me it was no obligation, so im not paying i showed him the door. well it comes to find out i called another placed and the total to fix the issue was 180.00 running now like a champ.. unfortunately the issues dont end there. i was so taken back for the bait and switch i called them and said take my name off the lists. I now have called 3 times and still i continue to get marketing material, and i literally told the lady if i continued to get their material i would write a review ,, and so i am, i also said i will contact the attorney general, you cannot harass a customer if they do not want services and demand to be taken off the list you MUST comply. this is a horrible company, im glad i have others moving in with us that are Hvac handy, all these people in the service field are shady

We originally had issues with our HVAC (AC) not cooling properly for the first and second levels of…read moreour home. In the past we had another HVAC service firm whom we parted ways with due to unsound business practices (they suggested replacement of $5,000 AC units even though they only had a small leak. The other firm also replaced parts that could have been fixed and there was a pattern of constant upsell and overcharging (we verified this with independent professionals). This led us to Cork's here in Huntley, and it was a great decision. Cork's sent someone very quickly, even though there were many other customers with similar issues this time of year. Gil did the original inspection and then Frank (owner) came a day later as we had to wait for the coils to defrost completely, which made sense. Both were very knowledgeable and trustworthy. They did not give me a bunch of BS about replacing the entire unit, but rather refilled the Puron and injected a dye/sealant. We will monitor it over the next year and call them if we notice issues. They suggested that these 2008 units should have a decent lifespan (possibly up to 20 years if built well) and that most repairs can be done part-wise as things are properly diagnosed over time and replaced. This built a lot of trust with me out of the gate. All of Frank's employees work directly for him, not on commissions, and you don't get the sense there's a constant 'upsell' or 'vague rationale' for larger more costly replacements. The other very great experience was this. We had two toilets that for over year now have been refilling their water tanks on their own constantly (and increasing water $). I replaced the intakes and flappers myself twice to no avail. Frank took the time to fix both toilets in a matter of minutes and knew exactly what the problem was, right during the service for the HVAC. It was nice of him to make the time as I know he was already in hurry to his next appointment but wanted to make sure I was a satisfied customer. We appreciate Cork's business ethics, professionalism and willingness to go above and beyond for customers. Thank you from Nick and Kimberly.

In the past I was fortunate to have a neighbor for minor plumbing work. Last week our washer died…read more A new one arrived but they couldn't install it because the connector hose was corroded and they weren't able to remove it safely and didn't want the responsibility if something broke. We have a big family so that caused a lot of stress. These folks were nearby and had 4.8 stars here so I called them. They couldn't have been nicer. I was put on hold for a few minutes as they tried to find someone to come, and they said it would be as long as three hours, which was still great. They were here within 45 minutes. Their technician was polite and talked us through what was going on. He had it fixed within 30 minutes and even did some minor additional maintenance to make sure things worked better for us. He aslo suggested we buy an extension hose, which we did. Considering we had never used them before, they treated us like a long-standing customer. They will be our go-to going forward! Highly recommended!

He's not…read morethe most outgoing guy on the phone - he's rather abrupt - but I certainly wasn't calling to chat and better still, he was here in less than a half hour. A couple things - he knows our house and, after coming to the front door, he said he'd go in/out through the garage to keep from tracking in. He quickly figured out the issue and gave us the option of having the part today (which would cost more) or tomorrow (through his regular wholesaler). I liked the fact that he gave us the option to save money if we wanted. Very honest, exceptionally knowledgeable and speedy service.
