I had called these guys and talked to the girl about my unit, said no worries set a time to have my unit looked at, she said no charge to look and then would tell me what was wrong and if i wanted to have him fix it , he could do it then. The owner came to our house dissapeared for close to 45 min downstairs with another guy, and as all our secuirty shows no one went to check outside the unit.. He said when they were done,the outcome said id need a new compressor, which was around 2 thousand , i said no thank you,, and he said ok it will just be the 95 for the visit i said im not paying a thing, your staff told me it was no obligation, so im not paying i showed him the door. well it comes to find out i called another placed and the total to fix the issue was 180.00 running now like a champ.. unfortunately the issues dont end there. i was so taken back for the bait and switch i called them and said take my name off the lists. I now have called 3 times and still i continue to get marketing material, and i literally told the lady if i continued to get their material i would write a review ,, and so i am, i also said i will contact the attorney general, you cannot harass a customer if they do not want services and demand to be taken off the list you MUST comply. this is a horrible company, im glad i have others moving in with us that are Hvac handy, all these people in the service field are shady read more

He once diagnosed an issue with our HVAC over the phone and told me how to fix it at no charge. Called back for our annual check-in this fall and everything had changed. Prices had increased people were different. Technician came out and was trying to up sell us on all of these ridiculous services. :(.... trust has instantly evaporated. On to someone new. SCAM ALERT The previous owner retired and moved out of state. This year, we called the same place again for our cooling to get recharged. The new owners had taken over.They quoted a price of $298. After filling the freon, guy asked for $398. My husband said no, it was $298.The guy said yes, and its plus $100 fee service to evaluate the unit. We never asked for the unit to be evaluated -just filled. The guy said they always evaluate the units. So why did you quote $298 then? We paid the $298 and will never use them again. Updated 8/27/17: Gregory saw the review and immediately responded a day later by calling on 8/21/17 and asking what he could do. We asked him to just issue a refund because my husband and I both thought the same thing without having to discuss it. It already costed $85 for a few things prior to this so we were unsure how much the final cost would be to troubleshoot and actually fix the air conditioner. I have changed the star rating to three stars because at this point, we both feel neutral and feel Greg and his company are fair. We called ALL-Star heating due to an inoperable furnace. The fee was high ($149) for the service call but it was the weekend so we didn't think much of it. The technician then proceeded to diagnose the problem, and told us it would be $363 to replace a pressure switch (probably about $50), and then tried to sell us a maintenance plan that would reduce part install to around $225.00, but we would have to pay $20 per month for the next year for the plan. The furnace was working so we opted to pay for the service call and wait to see what would happen. The furnace failed again so we called a different company to come out, and told them what All-Star told us. Within a few minutes they diagnosed the problem as a plugged drain pipe, cleaned it, and everything was fine. Stay far away from this company. read more

The owner shows up at my door at 7 am to reschedule our appointment for an earlier time that day. Seven. A. M. No phone call. Banging on my front door like someone's trying to murder him. I'm not exaggerating. THEN we make a follow-up appointment for 5 pm last Wednesday and he doesn't show up. No phone call, no nothing. Just doesn't show up. Today is Sunday. He's here right now at 4 pm doing the work without even calling us to see if we're home or if it's OK to come. This is absolutely unacceptable for any human being, let alone a business owner. I'm gobsmacked by the whole situation. The work, however was excellent. If you can get past the this stuff, they do good work. read more

Guys who came out nice, so we gave them second chance when we needed furnace service. Had appointment, AGAIN did not show up and NEVER called. We called office. On New Year's Day we couldn't get our pilot light restarted, so I called All-Star. They were able to send someone out that day, and had the issue fixed very quickly. The serviceman was very professional. Unfortunately, they did not disclose their special "holiday pricing" on the call, and we were given an invoice of $175 for this 15 minute visit. Apparently their rates double on the holidays. After calling to ask about this, since I wasn't home at the time that the bill was given, the owner was unapologetic and said that it was simply an oversight. How convenient, since I would have bought a $10 space heater and waited a day if I had known the call would be nearly $200. Make sure to at least get a quote over the phone if you're going to deal with these folks. read more

My furnace (both heating and A/C) stopped working after a small internal fire. Not only did they come right out and repair the problem, but the bill was far less than I expected (only charged me 80 bucks labor for two visits and repair). On top of that they explained exactly what the problem was, cleaned out my furnace for no charge, and suggested what I might need in the future with zero pressure to buy.
