We hired this company for our wedding and we were utterly disappointed with the customer service, lack of communication and lies told by Cristine S and John B. Because there was so much dissatisfaction and disappointment there were multiple conversations and phone calls which included the CEO about how to amend the issues. Once there was an agreement from both the company and myself for a partial refund I had NEVER heard from the company again. If there is one thing I regret and wish I could redo for my wedding, I would have NEVER hired EcoCaters. Hands-down the best caterers to work with. Christine is the sweetest and most helpful caterer I could possibly work with. She answered all my questions and was so sweet and kind, giving me suggestions when I asked. Everyone raved about the food which I was happy to hear! The beef option I heard was melt-in-your-mouth perfect, and the coconut fish was so unique and fun, and the veggie pasta was super popular! Their cheese board had all the fixings and the envy of everyone was the nacho bar! I also had my bartenders through EcoCaters and they were great. We had our Wedding just this past weekend and let me start off with how Eco Caters Team went above and beyond. We loved working with Christine who was our Lead coordinator, she went above and beyond. Always replying back quickly and efficiently. I couldn't thank her so much! On the wedding day, my Guests: Family and Friends complimented Eco Cater's Buffet Meal so much. For appetizers we had some mini cheeseburgers with gouda cheese and pork belly. It was so good everyone got as many as they can! Our Entrees came with a Side salad, bread for some snacks in the beginning then, we ordered the Chicken Zucchini Curry with Jasmine Rice, Roasted Beef (So tender and so juicy), mashed potatoes, and last but not least roasted root veggies. When we received our meal, the meal was super hot and delicious! Me and my husband weren't that hungry in that very moment, but once we tasted a bite of the entrees I was so happy it tasted as good as our tasting menu. Each guest had their favorite whether their liked the beef or the curry chicken! Many went to get 2nds and 3rds. We were expecting alot of left overs, but sheesh! our family and friends ate all the food haha. We ended up with a meal for two people with all the food i mentioned without any more beef left haha. We hired Eco Caterers for our wedding and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. There was not enough food, and several of our guests left hungry. When guests asked about additional food, they were told no. This was something we had stressed throughout the process from the beginning and many times we had been assured there would be more than enough food. The staff seemed inexperienced and dismissive, which only added to the frustration. Some guests had asked for salt & pepper, or even dressing for their salad but never received it. Also, the staff would clean full drinks off tables and full pieces of cake that guests were still eating. We had paid for extra appetizers, but many of our guests never received any. What was served came out late and very slowly, so only a handful of people even had the chance to try them. For the amount we paid, we expected professional service and a seamless dining experience for our guests. Sadly, that was not the case. We decided to have tacos for our wedding from Eco Caters and I am so happy with how it turned out. We had the achiote braised chicken, adobo beef, and adobo jackfruit and all 3 were a huge hit! My husband is not typically a big fan of vegan food, but he loved the jackfruit and thought it was the best filling - I personally loved the beef, and the chicken was also delicious. Our guests raved about the food, and we were so happy with the affordability of the catering packages. The staff was also amazing. I had my wedding at the Secret Garden at Rancho Santa Fe and our food was catered by Eco Caters. I was SUPER nervous about finding the right caterer, so I actually looked at several other vendors before I decided to go with them. They have an Asian-fusion/inspired menu that we picked most things from. My family can be really picky about food, so I was concerned about how they would react to it. Turns out, they loved it so much they even ate all of the leftovers that was packed for us. (Which I had personally been looking forward to eating myself.) We had so many compliments from the other guests about the food! They were also able to do special meals for guests with food allergies. I have one friend who told me how much it meant to her that we were able to provide a special meal that took into consideration all her food intolerances. Thus far in our wedding planning, EcoCaters is one of the options provided to us by our venue. When introduced they immediately fired off an e-mail to secure our food for our wedding date and how we can pay them. I find this odd only because we have been talking to a few other vendors who have taken the time to learn a bit more about what we are trying to do. This immediately prompted me to let them know I don't plan on using them quite yet. Following their response saying, 'Take your time,' there was no movement beyond trying to figure out what we want and how to make this happen. Wow, what can I say about Eco Catering... they're amazing! We got married this past weekend and everything went so smoothly. Everyone (and I mean everyone) raved about the appetizers, dinner, and sides. We got the Mexican food package (tacos, rice and beans, empanadas, etc.) and the chef did an awesome job. Guests with all dietary restrictions were accommodated for easily, and even people who are big meat eaters LOVED the jackfruit! Christine was extremely easy to work with. She accommodated our need for a Friday tasting before the event, and before the event was very communicative around when money was due and answered all questions we had. Pre-Wedding Experience with Eco: Emily and I did 2 tastings with Eco to make sure that we chose the correct meals for our guests. We upgraded an appetizer, salad selection, and entrée selection. Eco caterers advised us that the most expensive arrangement - the poppy arrangement- provided the most food and would be more than enough. We chose to go with this arrangement. We are of Ukrainian background and thus we informed Eco that our family will be bringing caviar and pickles for each table. We asked if they had the ability to provide Lithuanian bread and told them that we could provide it if needed. They told us that they could do it and it wasn't a problem. We paid them 170 ($1 per guest) for Lithuanian bread as an extra bread selection. Our final guest count was 170 - overall, it only varied by 8-10 people from our original estimate. Eco was responsive, flexible and easy to deal with. Day of Wedding: We purchased dishes for caviar and pickles (as our contract stated), and my mom even came early and plated all the caviar so it just needed to be put out on the table. We brought crackers- approx. 20 boxes, to be put on the table. Cocktail hour: The cheese table during cocktail hour was obliterated - many of my guests went there only to see it was empty. Dinner: On the table was not 'assorted breads', like Eco's contract stated. There was one type of bread, that accompanied the Lithuanian bread I paid for, Italian white bread. Eco ran out of all bread within an hour of dinner. Eco ran out of all butter within an hour of dinner. When I came into the kitchen to see how this could be (because I couldn't believe it) I was told the following statements (with my responses below): 'We ordered enough bread and butter' Obviously, not. I had guests asking for bread and butter throughout the night to eat the thousands of dollars' worth of caviar that we flew from New York. I don't know how that statement can even be made when it's obvious there was not enough. Caviar was in my contract. Eco was aware that we would be bringing caviar and knew that bread and butter was needed for it. 'We filled up each basket twice' Good for you. 'You got a great deal from us on the Lithuanian bread, do you know how hard it was to find?!' Are you f***g kidding me? Apologies for my language, but there isn't a word more appropriate. Before the wedding I told Eco I could bring the Lithuanian bread. Their experience in acquiring the bread is irrelevant. 'The bread is complimentary; you didn't even pay for it' Really?! You are telling me that there is not enough because it is complimentary. I was fuming after the last 2 comments. At this point I asked Eco if someone would rectify this situation by going to a grocery store to buy bread and butter. The manager refused. I told them I would go to the store myself during my wedding. They could not care less. There was ZERO attempt to solve the problem, but every excuse. I paid $1.00 per person for Lithuanian bread. Don't you think this is enough to ensure that everyone had bread? Luckily, our wedding coordinator saved the day and went and got bread and butter for my guests. Upon arriving with bread we learned that Eco had not even put out all the crackers that we bought. Can you believe this? My head was spinning, and I was livid. Bread and butter (and the caviar and pickles I brought) is part of my culture. I made this really clear in both our tastings - Eco knew about it. Someone dropped the ball and did not read what was clearly stated in our agreement. Food Quality: This was the best part about working with Eco, the food was tasty and well prepared. I appreciate that. Guests reported that some salads had little to no goat cheese as well as peaches. My own salad had one crumble. I will be glad to provide a picture. Overall the presentation of the food was unimpressive and inconsistent. Staff: The wait staff, bussers, bartenders etc were incredible. I thanked each of them continuously through the night. The manager was unprofessional and angered me beyond belief on the most special day of my life. She did not try to solve the problem in any way. Food Quantity: My guests left hungry. There was nowhere close to enough food on the table. The worst part is I continued to hear this from guests for a week following my wedding. Some went and ate fast food on the way home. My sister-in-law, father, and best friend did not eat an entrée because they wanted to leave enough food on the table for other guests. Family and close friends echoed "I was afraid to eat the food on the table because I knew their would not be enough for others". The list is endless, but you get the gist. Food is so incredibly important to Emily and I - this was a complete embarrassment. I would NEVER go with this company again. My goal: I don't want anyone to ever have to go through what Emily and I did. The catering was beyond mismanaged, and most importantly, the manager did nothing to try and find a solution. The plannings with Christine and the tastings were enjoyable experiences that felt me feeling confident for the wedding however there were several negatives on the day of. 1. Our chicken dish was extremely dry it tasted completely different than at the tasting. (Our fish dish was still good though) 2. The wait time between the salad course and the main course was very long that our guests went to the desert table and filled up on donuts. 3. The most important! The bartenders assigned to us were terrible. They were rude to our guests. They clearly had not even read the bar menu sign that had been created and even though the mixes had been premade for them did not know how to make the basic drinks. The staff is SO rude! All I heard during my sister's wedding was the cook cursing in the back. Every time he came out of the kitchen he looked extremely angry. We used eco caters as part of our wedding package with epic events co and they did not disappoint. Everyone raves about the appetizers and the food all night. The staff paid attention to detail and were friendly all night. They let us swap out a stationary app for an additional tray passed app, we chose empenadas, chickens and waffles and truffle grilled cheese. For dinner my husband was stuck on food stations... not a buffet but three separate types of food at three different stations. We sampled many caterers but were immediately impressed by the quality of the food at EcoCaters. We sat down at our tasting and found Emily to be delightful, down to earth and helpful. She had many great ideas to help us save on the overall cost of the event and offered ideas about how to best accommodate our request to serve food family style. At our walk through, Emily offered a number of great ideas and options for the layout. Our friend volunteered to be our wedding planner and she's mentioned several times how much she appreciated working with Emily on the day-of details. Our friend/wedding planner said that during the ceremony the table containing our cocktail appetizers fell because the ground had been wet and sunk under the weight of the table, causing the dishes and the food to come crashing down. Somehow they managed the whole situation without us knowing and our guests still had wonderful appetizers to enjoy. Emily was graceful and professional when there was a minor snafu with vendor meals (bartender brought several more staff than he said he would). They also handled a delicate situation with one of our guests who needed special arrangements. The food was delicious, and unique! We added colorful fruit and herb infused water dispensers, which were set up as guests arrived and were then transitioned to the cocktail hour and the reception. The appetizer display was beautifully presented at our rustic outdoor wedding. We absolutely loved the blueberry chipotle chicken and the stuffed peppers for dinner. We had sides of roasted potatoes and vegetables which tasted fresh and flavorful (not rubbery like other caterers we tried). Many of our guests commented about how much they enjoyed the food. Simply Lunch has been the best thing that has happened to our office!
