I listed the many dietary restrictions we needed to accommodate and they had no problem providing us with tasty options that met the given dietary needs. They had 2.5 hrs to setup prior to cocktail hour and they are one of the nicest and most efficient caterers I've worked with. Not only did they provide delicious food with a customized menu (and they really work with you on anything you want to serve!), but they also helped provide or acquire so many of our rentals for our wedding at wholesale pricing. Fabulous catering!! We hosted a private catering event at my work for Executives from outside the country and some clients and the food was amazing. This place catered a building holiday luncheon. I was not impressed. They served a walnut salad, mashed potatoes, bland Brussels sprouts , butternut squash ravioli, short rib (beef) and chicken. My thoughts: The beef had one dimension of flavor- SALTY, the mashed potatoes tasted like the water they boiled it in, and the chicken was topped with capers and sun dried tomatoes, the chicken was very DRY! The salad was good- greens with walnuts, feta cheese, apples, dried raspberries and a vinaigrette. The ravioli was okay. You get a hint of sweetness from the maple syrup, had good texture (not mushy) , and it was topped with creamy goat cheese and herbs. Overall, I give this meal a 5/10. This company was so incredible. The team was off the charts amazing! From arriving early to being so organized and professional, they truly went above and beyond. The party rental crew was late, so their team stepped in and helped with so many other tasks that weren't part of their job description, e.g. setting the tables (which the party rental company was supposed to do), helping me put brochures by each person's table settings, etc. They might have the most incredible staff anyone could hope for, and I honestly can't say enough good things about them. Feast on This recently catered for my wedding at Balboa Park this past January. I cannot begin to express how fantastic this company is - they are simply incredible. From my first conversation with Melissa, I knew that FOT would be something special. She enthusiastically listened to the story of how my husband and I met, and asked about our favorite foods, and what we love to do. We love fresh, local, and farm-to-table type foods that are colorful and more vegetable-focused. When we arrived for our food tasting - the food was exactly that. Everything was so fresh, delicious and beautiful! Even our garden salad that started our meal was prepared as a bouquet! Our tasting was also so great because we got to meet Melissa and their Chief Culinary Officer, Matthew. They were SO enthusiastic and passionate about food and their company - which is exactly what you want to see in a caterer. On the day of our wedding, FOT was exceptional. Melissa met us at the elevator, and held food specifically for my husband and I during cocktail hour to make sure we ate (she even brought me bread when I was feeling faint). I am so grateful and appreciative to that attention to detail and compassion. After the reception, all of my family and friends could not stop talking about the food. We had a chickpea salad and also a short rib entree on our menu that were both an absolute FAVORITE (If I could eat both those items every day of my life I would). Ordered a Thanksgiving holiday box from Feast On This for my daughter and I to enjoy. They offered a drive up pick up and the box included everything for a complete gourmet dinner and dessert. It was advertised to feed 2-4 people and we found that there were 4 equal portions of each item. The food was fully cooked and each container was labeled with easy oven or stove top heating instructions. Within 25 minutes, we were enjoying our meal and the food was SO fresh and tasty. The turkey was moist and every side item was delicious and well seasoned. The portions were perfect. I am looking forward to ordering again for our Christmas brunch and dinner. I was at an event in Balboa Park last night, and I'm pretty sure this was the company that catered it (their van was in the parking lot). The food was so delicious. I especially loved these chicken sliders that had coleslaw in them, and were on a Hawaiian style bun. The desserts were incredible, too (chocolate cupcakes with coconut/white frosting). Throughout the entire process from preparation to post event, they are always in touch and super accommodating. For instance, when I wanted to switch up some items for my second event but stay within budget, Bianca was happy to create several custom menus for me to choose from. The company uses quality ingredients such as quinoa and steel cut oats for their oatmeal bar and freshly cut pineapple and melon for their beautifully arranged fruit plate. Guests always provide great feedback when it comes to their catering and I'm a big fan of their crispy bacon and coffee as well! :) The staff is highly reliable, provides great customer service and a consistently professional presentation. First off, we were impressed by how well Melissa, Alexis, and her team communicated with us. Melissa would respond to our inquiries immediately and clearly. At one point she had the flu, and she STILL kept us promptly in the loop so we lost no time! Other companies took so long to respond, we were shocked. She worked with us to create a plan for our wedding that was perfectly tailored to our wishes - an intimate ceremony at our home with 60 guests, including children. We suggested a menu and the Chef and Sous Chef Tom whipped it up to perfection - we enjoyed the opportunity to sample everything with Melissa and Alexis during a tasting. They treated us so well at the tasting that it remains a high point in our planning process. Melissa was also willing to work with us on parts where we opted to go for DIY. I'm not much of an event planner. You'd think that the event planning gene would be right next to the hairdressing and interior decorating genes, but it's not. Event planning is a skill left to experts, like Yelp Community Managers, for example. It's not for incompetents like me. That said, I wasn't pleased I was called upon to arrange a department retreat. I suppose it was my natural style and grace (or maybe my gluttony and borderline alcoholism) that inspired my supervisor to have me do this. Priority #1 was to find a good caterer, and a coworker suggested that I give Feast On This a shot. The folks at Feast On This were a pleasure to work with. I called them up a few days before my soiree, and we hammered out the menu and delivery schedule with no fuss. An event to feed 25 people was a piece of cake, they said. They'll cater an event of any size, if you give 'em enough advance notice. Obviously, what matters is the food. Here's the rundown: **BREAKFAST** 1. mixed fruit platter with melon, pineapple, and strawberries 2. mini muffins with jam 3. breakfast burritos with egg and veggies (both +/- bacon, to accommodate the vegetarians) 4. orange juice and coffee (lots of coffee for cranky scientists) **LUNCH** 1. a honkin' bathtub of Caesar salad 2. rolls + butter 3. a make-your-own fajita bar with chicken, rice, refried beans, bell peppers, and (of course) lots of Tabasco sauce 4. lemonade I'd say that the success of any catering job depends less on my opinions and more on the guests'. Personally, I thought that every morsel of food that went into my mouth was the bee's knees (and how could I not, when I bought it on the company's dime?). I heard some complaints that the breakfast burritos were a little too egg-y and overdone. All the other trays got rave reviews.
