A salesman from EcoShield came to my door claiming that someone in the neighborhood had hired EcoShield, but had cancelled. EcoShield wanted to locate anyone else in the area who would be willing to buy their service for a discount -- half price because workers and the product were already nearby. I had already purchased several natural solutions to spray around my house, mostly for mosquitos, mites, ants, and no-see-ums. The price charged was higher and she also learned he was having her sign a long term contract!!! Then they continue to give me a sales pitch. Also - back in the Fall when the box elder beetles were bad(the reason I actually signed up for the service)they came and sprayed and it didn't help at all. If I could have 0 stars I would. First, I have never had so many bugs. This summer red plant mites took over my perennials; when I called to report it, they said they "probably disturbed a nest". stink bugs, japanese beetles, silverfish... I again have never had these with other services! they returned to retreat once, but when I called in October, they did not have appointments until November- they didn't show up then either. Today once again they showed up unannounced & walked around with a long pole & brush "to treat spiders, remove cobwebs" really - it is below freezing, all gutters filled with ice & it took the technician less than 10 minutes. I was told I would get a rate of $500 for the year. It is a scam. they are billing me 165.00 per treatment & if I cancel an additional charge of $250 will occur. i have now paid $660 for 4 treatments after being told I would only pay $500, Horrible company, horrible customer service & the worst / the treatment doesn't work! Others have stated the same information, but we can also share that we have had a poor experience with EcoShield. They present themselves as a local company / franchise who is there to help you. In reality, they are a large corporation dedicated solely to taking as much of your money as they can while doing the least work possible. Customer service is seemingly not based in the US which leads to additional communication challenges. rarely do I post a negative review. Ecoshield is deserving of many negative reviews. Door to door sales ( this was my mistake to answer the door). I had some questions about a powdery dust in my front windows indoors. sales person said I have ants chewing on the wood. New home so I signed up. After three treatments powerful dust still there. I had an inspection done by another company - guess what no ant problem. I then asked for a rep from eco shield to do an assessment. He listened with his stethoscope and did various other checks. No ants. it is simply a function of being a new home. Dishonesty at its worst. canceling has been a challenge. The local office does not answer rather a call center outside of the US. Eco Shield has been charging me $199 per quarter for two years. Moving forward, I saw no reason to continue the service at this high price, so I called to cancel our account. I was told that I am contractually bound for 9 service treatments and had no choice other than to pay for a final service in February. Only after the service has been completed can I then call them to cancel. Huh? Further, the customer rep suggested Eco Shield could lower my price to $149 per quarter -- for the exact same level of service. When I said no, the customer rep asked if I'd consider $119. Young man came to my door very enthusiastic very polite. He offered service through Ecoshield he explained that I would get a full sprain around my house in certain areas inside andaround my garage. They also said they would remove spiderwebs from the property. The young man told me he was the owner of the company and the guys were very slow and needed work. So I went ahead and decided to go with for a first spray. My first spray went pretty good. The gentleman was thorough. My second visit the tech was in and out in about five minutes. This was all recorded via camera. He sprayed a portion of my property. He went nowhere near the garage, where most of the spider activity is the focal point of my spray nor did he attempt to remove any webs or any of the previous duties, the salesman gentleman told me they provide since my second visit was unsatisfactory. I then took photos to prove my point and sent them over via email. Communication has stopped on there and sense in regards to my dissatisfaction with the second visit. But however, I am constantly getting emails asking for payment for a service that was not truly completed at my home that I have video evidence of and have sent photos to the company to back up my claim read more

Their representative quoted me $165 for three visits to get rid of my wasps. Period. On the second visit, I was charged another $165. I signed the tablet, that's on me. I believed what he was telling me and did not read all the fine print. Apparently I am signed up for an entire year at $165 each visit. Just a warning not to believe their friendly, helpful representative. He lied right to my face and had me sign up for something totally different. Lesson learned. I have been using them for a little over a year and I don't understand the bad reviews. My bugs are minimal and they are super responsive. They did a whole home inspection and did find some issues that could have been worse if I hadn't taken action. (Bat droppings in attic). The salesperson who came out said their product would kill and deter earwigs. The earwigs did not die, and they did not leave the house area. The salesperson said their product was bee friendly, and I have not seen a bee on my pollinating flowers. I have also not had my hummingbirds come to the feeder that is up against the house. We were supposed to have a killing agent sprinkled along the edge of the house for the first two visits. The first visit was great. The second visit, they did not sprinkle the killing agent, when asked, he said he did not need to do that. He later wrote on the form that he completed that task. If I could give them zero stars, I would. No one ever showed up when they were supposed to, I was charged twice for a service I didn't receive. They (allegedly) sprayed chemicals twice within a week after they told me they legally could not do so and had cancelled the second appointment. Even then the techs missed two wasps nests that my kids found the following day. I have never had ants in my house, and all of the sudden they are streaming in. I had to spend multiple calls over several days to cancel, and even though they had not once done what they said they were going to do, they refused to waive the cancellation fee and did not refund the second charge for services.
