Really, I thought immediately the place was out of my price range, but a friendly stranger told me I should go look inside, offering that you could do cute date nights and make your own scents here, but then she assured me the place was black owned, and I HAD to at least see what gems were hiding inside. And there were so many! Bath salts you could mix to bring home, an oil scent lab, and all sorts of adorable accessories that caught my eye: lacy socks, perfect for Docs; some earrings at a great price point; and some sunglasses that no one else will be wearing ANYWHERE, for a mere $20! The woman working the store was just so friendly, and told us to cash is Queen in here store, if you know what I mean? But, I've found my favorite place to invest my modest disposable income at when I'm in Alameda. I'll be back to crate an oil scent roller...for $15! That's absurd. And it was sweet the store has my father's name: To Herb With Love. My mom must've been sending me angel messages.

The store is spacious and clean. Parking is a pain as it is located downtown. I love the shirt display as soon as you enter. In the back they have a dressing room for your convenience and also gear from other local artists. The young man who helped us provided great service and was knowledgeable about the product. The telephone booth is super cute to take photos. The prices are a little steep, but you really can't find a shop like this that has the bay gear and quality. I can't wait to wear my sweatshirt!

We initially didn't know there was free parking in a nearby parking structure until our friends told us, but luckily we found free street parking around the area for two hours. First impression walking in was how clean the whole place felt. I also liked that there were so many different vendors and cuisines for us all to choose from. Whether you're craving Korean Food, Japanese Food, Peruvian Food, American BBQ, Burgers, or pretty much anything else, you'll probably find something here. Honestly, a lot of the vendors caught my attention because what they offered looked really good. We also spotted a cashew based ice cream shop, which was perfect for dessert after our meal. I also liked how everything was indoors too, especially since it keeps people sheltered from the weather on hot days. Another thing I appreciated was the amount of tables and seating made available. It didn't feel stressful trying to find a place to sit, and we were here on a Sunday. As we walked through the market, I thought the layout was designed really well. The way everything was set up made the place feel a lot bigger and more spacious than it actually was. I thought that was pretty smart. I'd definitely come back to this public market again next time I'm in the area.

He also had a somewhat curt, unfriendly demeanor. Brainstormer was probably the best a decade ago, but something seems to have gone wrong with them along the way. Whoever's in charge of events should consider switching to Head Games, Geeks Who Drink, Live Event, or Pub Trivia Nerds.

It ranges from $27-$30 and that's already with a 60% mark up factored in. The lady was trying to rip me off when she saw I was willing to buy. She was brought out 4 shirts and stated she had more colors in the back. I inquired about the price because the dress shirts had no price sticker/tag on them. She stated $50. I showed her the price from 3 competitors and Amazon and said I was willing to pay $40 ( Tax included ) since i was already there and she said no. I know it's a mom n pop shop and they are trying to make a profit and I support independently owned/ small businesses. I understand maybe a $5-$7 mark up but $20? That's insane. Your making people not want to shop at stores like yours and you wonder why you don't have business. So before you buy at this store check the prices online. I hate to say it.

They have a great selection of unique/cute/pretty items (art, jewelry, clothes, decor, greeting cards, etc.) that I could easily spend over an hour poring through, even though the physical shop is small. I love that all their items are fair trade or made in the USA, all ethically made! Every purchase supports a good cause. The owner is friendly too; he'd always make a point to say hello with a warm smile. He also tolerated the many times I spent forever browsing through the shop while on a grad-student budget (that is to say: waiting for special occasions to make my purchases). I never felt rushed--just welcomed.
