I'd say my brisket was on the dryer side however the sauces were great! All the meats were incredible and the cornbread and onion rings were a showstopper for sure. Definitely some of the best I've had around and it is tough to find huge onion rings! Our waitress was fantastic and incredibly patient and kind as we waited on one more of our party. She knew the menu very well and made our experience great. The place itself is nice and very spacious! I also liked they had fires and an outdoor patio to go eat outside. I'll for sure be back when craving some bbq.

Upon arrival, the already small lobby was completely overcrowded, to the point where there was barely room to move. It honestly felt like a fire hazard with people constantly trying to squeeze in and out. The only update we received from the hostess, Victoria, was that they were "backed up," delivered with a noticeably rude and dismissive attitude. There was no organization, no guidance, and no effort to manage the situation or accommodate guests. To make matters worse, there was nowhere to wait except outside. When we asked if we would receive a text when our booth was ready, Victoria responded sarcastically, saying, "You think I can text all these numbers on this list? There's no way to do that." That level of unprofessionalism was completely unacceptable. After waiting 20 minutes past our reservation time with no clear communication or plan, we decided to leave. The lack of organization, poor communication, and rude service made for a very off-putting experience--especially on a holiday. Unfortunately, this experience has made us very hesitant to return.

Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by friendly wait staff and shown to our reserved table. The ambiance is upscale with dim lighting. We were there for a book club luncheon and the restaurant wasn't busy or noisy, which was perfect for us. The menu offered a nice variety of options. While the restaurant is known for barbecue and pizza, most of us ordered sandwiches and salads. Our server seemed to be very new, but was polite and pleasant. She was on top of drink refills, which was good because Coke and Iced Tea were $3.00. Funny thing but someone in our party ordered a gin and tonic and that also was $3.00. Our food orders were slow to come out and our server couldn't keep track of who ordered what, which wasn't a big deal since we were a group of approximately ten. Not all orders came out at once, so some were eating and some were waiting. I ordered a veggie burger with cheese and a side of ranch. When the plate came out, there was no cheese or ranch dressing. Our server took my plate back to the kitchen and I also requested a slice of tomato. I found the veggie burger very bland but edible. The fries were plentiful but I only ate a couple. Nobody raved about the food but I didn't hear any complaints either. A lot of our group took home leftovers. When the checks came, we learned that 22% gratuity had been added to each check because we were a large table. I also learned that the cheese for my veggie burger had an upcharge of .99 for the cheese and.50 for the ranch dressing. We enjoyed our discussion and socializing in a nice ambiance. I was underwhelmed by my meal, so wouldn't run back anytime soon. If I were to dine here again, I'd probably try the pizza. A photo of my veggie burger is posted below.

" more cowbell" But they were out of so much on a Sunday at 6 PM First of all, checked my gift card before I came into the store and had a $25 balance. When I get inside, it is packed, and guy working the register can't seem to get it to work so I just decided to pay. I ordered ribs, they're out! I ordered chicken... Out of that too. I ended up getting a sandwich. I would've never ordered Pryor, but I am glad I did. You can tell they were out of a lot of meats, because the baked beans I got were pretty much a bunch of beans, floating and barbecue sauce and not even very many beans at all The mac & cheese was decent, but nothing to write home about. I had to add a decent amount of salt and pepper. But waiting in line for 20 minutes for quick order food just to find out almost all of it was gone is a bit ridiculous It's pretty unorganized and chaotic The condiment station look like it has been ransacked, so I ended up for going any pickles or onions due to fear of some weird foodborne illness The whole experience is just a bit lacking. I can pay less money and go down the street and be waited on and have a cleaner atmosphere.

There is plenty of seating for small and large groups. There's a place to get your drink and grab some sauce from a variety of options. Our food came out quickly and portions were of good size. The Nashville hot chicken was dusted with some seasoning. It was not hot and quite frankly i couldn't taste the seasoning. The size was good and the chicken tasted good after I added some sauce. The nachos were delicious and full of flavor. The baked beans were solid as was the mac n cheese. And I had to get the hush puppies and they didn't disappoint.

Damn near a hit. if they could just get the kitchen together regarding temperature and consistency. They would be slaying. Let's talk about what is good... The environment. It just feels like a place you want to sit down and eat a rack of ribs. It's clean, modern, and inviting. It is cool to see what they have done with the old black pearl. Our waitress was excellent! She was fast, attentive, and warm. I can't speak enough about the service. From the moment we sat down until the moment we left, we were truly waited on. We had drinks, we had our food extremely fast, and even when there was an issue with our meal, the manager came right over. (I didn't ask, the waitress brought her over when she noticed our untouched ribs and potato) If our food had been as warm as our staff, they would probably be sitting on closer to five stars Let's talk about the gumbo. The flavor was great! However, the rice inside of it was severely undercooked. It was crunchy in places. Some of it was cooked, however, there were multiple clumps of uncooked (I can't even call it undercooked) rice. And it wasn't hot. My husband can eat piping hot food, I am talking about tea right out of the kettle... But I am not so fortunate. I started to blow on the soup and he laughed at me and said it wouldn't be necessary. To be fair, it was his gumbo, but he was right. It wasn't hot. It was barely a notch above warm, which makes me concerned about things like foodborne illness. But because the sausage, the chicken, and the roux were so damn good. I ate around it and decided to risk it. Next out, the ribs and brisket combo and my husband's wings. The wings were great. Zero notes except they flew off the bone into my husband's mouth faster than I could even get to my food. The brisket wasn't hot, but I don't expect it to be after it's rested so I will give that a free pass. My baked potato couldn't melt the butter. I also gave that a free pass since I planned on taking it home. But when I dug into my ribs, they were cold. And I don't mean warm, I mean cold. The surface was warm but by the bone was like they were out of the refrigerator. They had a decent flavor, but when ribs are that cold, they are a bit tough. Our waitress brought out a fresh rack, but by then I had already eaten my way through half of my husband soup, part of his meal, and my brisket so I ate one knuckle and took the rest home. I would come back for the atmosphere, the wait staff, and the flavor... But I hope execution gets cleaned up because I probably wouldn't come back a third time if I had a similar experience. I love eating local, and I hope they have a better run than the black pearl. The portions are generous, the pricing is more than fair. They do a lot of daily and happy hour as well as late night specials. Also, when I go to a barbecue spot, I want a bread option. I know this is me being a spoiled carb princess... But nothing sets me up for a good meal like some cornbread or dinner rolls. Lastly, I hope they end up bottling and selling some of their sauces locally. Their Carolina mustard base barbecue was stellar and the hot barbecue just as good.

We were informed they were out of pizza and filet. A slight bummer as one of the reasons I decided to go was for the pickle bread I saw online. We ordered some cheese logs (we figured they were large gooey cheese sticks given the name "logs" but it was more of a nod to the restaurant name as they were just run of the mill cheese sticks). From there things went mediocre. Service got slower, food coming out got slower, drink refills got slower....there appeared to be some waiter issues (we had time to people watch) but couldn't exactly tell what was going on. Our waitress was extremely busy, but it didn't seem the others were. Food was ok. I had the SOB chicken wrap and my husband had chicken chunks. The wrap was good but I would probably get something different should we find ourselves there again. The chicken chunks looked tiny but my husband said they were good. All in all, would we go again....yes, someday.
