I had eaten here probably over ten years ago and it was not good. My husband and I always joke that they probably stay in business purely on Schmuckers overflow. Which coincidentally is exactly how we ended up there today. My husband and I both ordered sandwich platers which came with two sides. I had a grilled chicken sandwich with a Ceasar salad. The sandwich was quite large and pretty tasty! Both platters were about $17 each. Vast improvement from our 1st visit. The waitress was friendly and seemed to know a lot of the customers which is always a good sign. The interior of the restaurant is a little grim. Bad florescent lighting and blank walls that could use some work. It did look clean and thats whats important. We will probably come back and give it another try. read more

Walked in and sat down, waitresses took our order within 5 minutes. The waitresses were very friendly and were accommodating with adjustments to the order. The Texan burger was delicious. It came with onion rings and barbecue sauce on top, alongside all of the usual vegetables. Curly fries and Caesar salad was good. I did like that they had multiple TVs playing. Only downside to this was that I ordered Greek fries and received curly fries. Nevertheless, the food was delicious, and I will definitely be returning in the future. read more

An unsung little place on Reynolds road just next to Schmucker's--but with liquor. Decor, inside and out, is nothing special, in fact it's kind of plain--but in a pleasant way. But the food is good, real good. We haven't worked our way through the menu; in fact we usually stick with the humus, chicken and vegetables plate--healthy and delicious if you don't eat too many of the pita chips. The humus is as good as any place in Toledo--and there are a LOT of places in Toledo with good humus. The chicken is fresh cooked to order and appropriately spiced. The beer's cold and there's a full bar. They're also open for breakfast, but I've never been there that early and haven't been there late either. The crowd could be a lot more "neighborhood bar-like" at night, but I don't know first hand. The owner is usually there; he's super friendly, genuinely nice guy and willing to please. And he's apologetic if he doesn't have what you want, from a specific dish to a particular beer. The people he hires are friendly and efficient too. Oh, they had a great, absolutely great, Jigg's dinner on St. Pat's day! I'm a fan. It's one of our go to places for a healthy (or not-so-healthy when we're in the mood) place for a weeknight, on-the-way-home-from-work dinner. read more

We found this place yesterday. The waitress, I feel bad for not knowing her name, was so friendly and the food was great. The atmosphere is on the dive side but without being too run down. It's a special place though because the staff makes it homey. Even with a bar there, it felt like a family place. I had a gyro. The meat was so tender and not overcooked. My son had the Irish burger and loved it. My husband had a fluffy omelette. It's a huge menu but they handle it well. Later, my husband ordered pumpkin pie for dessert and although they were out of whipped cream the pie came out with a pile of whipped cream on it. It was so fast but apparently the owner ran to the store next door and got some. They really made us feel welcome and the prices were very reasonable. 3 people with drinks and one dessert (huge and fresh pumpkin pie slice) came to just under 28 bucks. We'll be back. read more

Not sure where the photos are from but NOT actual food from here. Food used to be good but the last 6 months or so the quality has really gone down. Noticed a lot of times driving by that there are no cars there. I must not be the only one thinking there needs to be a new cook or the current cook needs to give a shit again. Less time at 4 seasons and more at rocket by the owner might help too read more

i usually come here for brunch. The portions are more than fair with the pricing, and the food itself is average-to-good depending on what you get. I usually get the biscuits and gravy. While it's nothing special, it fills me up and it's not expensive. The staff is nice, but sometimes they are aloof. I've seen multiple times where either I've needed something, or someone else, and they've been standing around not really doing anything, purposefully looking busy. I typically don't mind because I bring a book everywhere I go, so I just flip it open, but it can be rather annoying if you have a deadline or meeting to attend to. read more

A few things come to mind when talking about Toledo diners: 1) Something with gyro meat must grace the menu 2) Portions are probably going to be at least football-sized The Rocket Cafe easily takes care of both of these staples. I imagine that being situated next door to Schmucker's is a pretty daunting task. I mean, it has been a Toledo institution for many years; however Rockets Cafe seems to hold its own. The waitstaff was friendly, albeit a bit slow at times, but the food is what I expect from a diner. Large portions of greasy potatoes sitting next to an omelet that is made with so many eggs, a full cardiac workup should come complimentary. The food itself was standard fare, nothing amazing and nothing wrong with it. The peculiar thing is the fact that there is a pretty substantial fully-stocked bar that takes up a good 1/3rd of the restaurant. I haven't seen anyone sit at it and I can't really imagine that the tables get pushed to the side at night, a thumping sound system appears, and drinks start flowing...it does not appear to be that kind of place. I guess if you do want that double shot of Jack with your pancakes, you have found your breakfast/brunch hub. read more

Eat here quite often. I like their chicken kabob and grape leave platter. Prices are reasonable. It's a nice convenient neighborhood dinner. Today we had breakfast. Their hamburgers could be better though. They have karaoke on Friday nights. read more

I just checked with Rockets cafe and they are doing delivery OR pickup, so i ordered a Jiggs dinner and just picked it up. It was truly incredible, a really nice serving size of main entree and each of three vegetables. I wish it was St Patty's day more often, i would go there again for this in a heartbeat !! I went here out of sentimental reasons. My dad was always a big fan of this place. It has been three years since his death and I had not been there since. Thought I would give it another try and I am glad I did. The food was better than I remembered. I had a burger and fries. The burger was good and the fries were fresh cut. This was a Tuesday night at 6:30 and the place was dead. not sure why more people don't choose this place. I will be back. read more

I really like this place. The food is nothing spectacular but pretty good especially with the broad variety available. They have a bar that seems out of place, but comes in handy on Friday nights (during which time the casual diner turns into a Karaoke bar). I keep going back to this place again and again. We stopped in for lunch on Labor Day. Nice place.Great salads. Our daughter forgot to order her chili mac without onions. She picked them out and ate anyway. When the owner heard about this he felt terrible and brought out some delicious chocolate cake to get rid of the onion taste. The bathrooms could use a little updating. read more
