We've shopped at this outlet store on and off over the 13 years we have been in this area. Unfortunately, this first review of the store will also be my last as I learned today that this store along with all Eddie Bauer stores across the country will be closing due to bankruptcy. I hadn't heard and was totally surprised during our random drop-in, but the bankruptcy filing was just announced publicly yesterday apparently. The employees learned last week. This store will stay open until the end of March I was told. Honestly, I'm not surprised and thought bankruptcy would have or could have happened over a decade ago. Their merchandise has always been quite overpriced in my opinion, but their frequent big promotions often brought their goods more in line and that's about the only time we ever bought anything. Their quality has always been top notch though. I remember their big retail store in downtown Naperville downsized in about 2010 and I thought that was the beginning of the end, but the chain obviously hung on for quite a while longer. Anyway, the wife and I each made a final purchase today of winter jackets that were marked down an additional 60%. Good luck to the staffers, who have all been fine to us, and thank you Eddie Bauer for being a quality clothing provider to us over the years. read more

Good selection of clothing , with many mens tall sizes. But, wretched customer service. This is a contractor run outlet. NOT EB. The check out staff need a new "tude". Horrible attitude. I think half of my husband's wardrobe is from here. No, it is not fashionable but it is sensible, practical, and very reasonably priced. More so if you sign up for their rewards card, you are certain to receive a few $10 rewards coupons every year. Clothing is great for working out and outdoor activity; a lot moisture wicking fabrics. Quality is good as many of his shirts and hiking pants have withstood several trips and washes. read more

It is an Eddie Bauer outlet in the neighborhood with a great selection and good service. Lots of times 50% off everything. Not going to get my business suits there, but they sure make me look good at a reasonable price in every day clothes. Glad to have it in the area. read more

When I bought a backpack from Eddie Bauer they offered a Lifetime Warrenty. At the time I thought a Lifetime Warranty sounded pretty good, too good to be true. As I turns out it was too good to be true. The Lifetime Warranty doesn't work very good as they offered me $5 dollars back towards a new backback? Uhhhhh hello is $5 dollar how you honor a lifetime warranty? What a bunch of BS read more

I've never felt more uncomfortable in a suburban retail store. First, the "employees" who are clearly very insecure about their lot in life, were talking smack about a younger and newer male coworker very audibly and in front of customers. Second the general air toward myself and my two friends was entirely lukewarm compared to the attention given to their middle aged clientele who were angling for better discounts. When someone cut in front of me (which was easily worked out), the woman at the desk reprimanded me like I was child for not standing close enough to the counter. I guess they have a very particular way they like people to stand, but no indicators for which way that is. Overall, a dismal experience. To the manager there, and this goes without saying, retrainings are in order for the veteran staff. read more

Almost every day I wear something I got at this EB Outlet store. I have had only great experiences with the store and its employees. I have bought numerous items and never had a problem. EB stands by their merchandise and the outlet carries high quality items at great prices. read more

Not sure what the person did who processed my original purchase, but when I returned with my receipt to get a larger size, something didn't add up. The investigation took 30 minutes and created a long line. I left feeling like the staff (and customers) thought I did something shady. I'm not here to speculate why it didn't add up, but it was not my fault someone checked the purchased out wrong. I didn't get any apology for my wasted time just a very weird vibe. I left with my exchange, but am in no hurry to return after the uncomfortable experience. I often buy stuff at EB for myself and others, so this is a bummer. read more

I'm not much of an outlet shopper, but I have to give this location credit for the two long clearance racks of men's shirts in the back right quadrant of the store. The women's clearance selection outnumbers the men by only about 2:1 rather than the usual 3 or 4. Unfortunately, of the collared shirts, about 80% are aggressive plaids and 18% are less aggressive plaids. And many are tall sizes. And every single one of them has a button-down collar. So for 50% off, it was worth a look but they didn't have anything for me. If I ever decide to relocate to a Maine cabin to write my opus, I will check back in here before I pack. Strangely, on a Saturday afternoon, there were several employees working the floor, but only one harried clerk manning the cash register, where a queue of about six customers was lined up at the time that we came in. read more

I rarely come in here, but decided to on a whim while stopping by Michaels today. I was pretty upset when they told me that I could only try on 5 items total during my time in the store due to covid. At first I thought she meant 5 items at a time, which I would have been cool with, but no she meant only 5 items during my time in the store. I tried on 5 items and bought 3, but I would have liked to have tried on a few more things. This rubbed me the wrong way and made me feel so pissed off that I honestly plan to never come back. I understand they have to "quarantine" the clothes that are tried on and not purchased, but why the heck could I not try on 5 more pieces of clothes out of a huge store??? I can't imagine people come in here and try on hundreds of things at a time. Stupid policy, stupid store, I won't be back. read more

We come to this store very often and almost every time there is only one person actually "working". The ones at the registers are usually 4-5 people deep while the "manager" walks around folding shirts. Then there is the issue of their point of sale system constantly being unable to look up customer reward points. Lastly, the style of their womens clothing continues to get weirder and weirder and they've lost the classic look they were known for. What's with the ridiculous patterns? And the fabrics for women are almost see through. Really? I wear these clothes to go hiking not for a fashion show. read more

If you have a tall man in your life (or happen to be a tall man), this place rocks! I just left the store and already feel compelled to share. Clearance is in the back of the store, and this is where the best deals are to be had. Eddie Bauer's aesthetic on the muted, earth tone side regardless of season, so if you're looking for a shirt, always start there- I can't detect a difference. There has always been a large number of tall sizes available, which is unusual and can be hard to find. Sometimes it's 50% off and sometimes 70%, but it's always a good deal. Tonight, the very helpful and friendly check out person hooked me up with a free rewards card and a 15% education discount, bringing the total for the 4 men's sweaters I bought to just over $70. She also mentioned sale items are returnable, in case you misjudge the preference of the tall man you're purchasing the items for. There's a large selection of outdoor clothing, too, so if you're planning a camping or hiking adventure, this would be great place to check for both activewear and small items like lanterns. read more

I LOVE THIS STORE!!! I usually wear XXL or XXXL which is difficult to find at most stores. But I can always depend on Eddie Bauer clothes and the outlet prices are amazing. I love the sales here and there's usually several larger sized items on sale. Also, their XXL is generous and usually fits me. Staff is very helpful and happy to assist when you need help. As far as clothing, it's certainly not going to be your trendy fashion place. However, for quality this is your place. Eddie Bauer stands behind their products. Last July, I purchased a rolling duffel and it ripped this July. (Most likely from using it so much while traveling.) They replaced it, no questions asked. The employees at this location are very friendly, kind and go out of their way to help you. I have never met a sales associate here that was rude or didn't seem to care about the customer. First of all, I learned that the outlet stores do not carry the exact items as the regular stores. You can find similar items that are much less expensive. I was just in yesterday and they have nice men's parkas with the 550 fill for $80 on sale! I bought a super thin 700 fill down 3/4 length for $60- normally these are 150-200 dollars. The staff were extremely helpful. I had mentioned that earlier in the day, I bought a coat from the regular Eddie Bauer store downtown but needed to return it. I was just going to drive back downtown, but the associate asked if I had it with me- it was in the car. He said you can return regular items (including online purchases) to the outlet stores, which I found really surprising. They just mark it down and put it on the floor, so you might find new items form the regular store for much less. I'll be back for sure! read more

I had purchased a coat about a year ago at an outlet store. Whenever I used it, the pocket zipper kept getting jammed until finally the other day, it broke completely. I came in to the store not knowing what to expect. The manager said they didn't have an equivalent coat, and I should try the retail store. I was doubtful, so the manager called the other store for me and was told they did have coats that could replace it, and I should go there. Eddie Bauer stands behind their products regardless of where you buy them. People at both stores could not possibly have been nicer or more helpful. They replaced the coat with the current style of it - no questions, no hassles. Only polite respect and smiles. What a welcome surprise for a shopping experience! read more

This is the outlet store for Eddie Bauer. I usually will pop in here if I'm driving by to see what new things they may have gotten in. Prices are a lot less than the Mag Mile store. They always seem to have a few in-season items that are decent. I've had luck finding decent pants and shirts here. My last visit here I picked up some sharp worsted wool pants for $7.99 marked down from $78.00. Everything is usually in some state of markdown, but when they do have sales on top of that, you can get some good bargains on high quality stuff. read more

I purchased a few items items online and tried to return them in the store. I was very surprised when I presented the clerk the items along with packing slip and she stated she could not accept the returns. Reason being that the items had already been returned. I stated how can they be returned if I'm holding the items. The manager stated there was nothing she can do. She did allow me to use the store phone to call corporate customer service number. After waiting on the phone 20 min the manager returned and stated "if they haven't answered by now they have left for the day". The manager did offer to take my returns at about half price of what I had paid online. No way!! When I returned home from my trek to Eddie Bauer, I checked the website and it stated that customer service line is open till 2 am. I tried the number again and did get someone on the line this time after 30 min. She explained the long wait was due to a big sale. She checked my order number number and didn't find a problem with it. She emailed me a return label and was able to return the items this way. I jumped thru all kinds of hoops without even a I'm sorry. Last purchase they will get from me. read more

The employees at this store will tell you if you ask - that all of the Eddie Bauer stuff they sell is "made for the outlet". And only two small racks of stuff at the very back is "real" EB stuff that was returned from their catalog sales. You can also tell by the labels on the exterior of all the pants and shirts. Real EB stuff has the name on the outside of the cloths item (where you like that or not). The made for outlet stuff does not exterior labels and is a low quality. I did not like shopping at this store. read more
