Decided to visit Eddie burger while I was in town I'm Banff for a vacation. I heard on more than one occasion this place is great! Even the bartender had said there are super duper long wait times in the summer. Limited seating. But good for parties size 2-4 people. $$- about 18-30. $5-8 drinks. Food!! Tried the elk burger and the bison burger. The sides we got truffle fries, and sweet potato fries with Cajun mayo! Would definitely recommend what we ordered! Even though I got here right between lunch and dinner, the place was still pretty busy. I took that as a good sign. Since I was by myself, I was seated at the bar. After looking over the menu, I ordered the Eddie Classic and upgraded the fries to poutine for $3 extra. The burger was pretty average. Not bad. Arriving late at night after hours of driving, all I was craving was a burger. And Eddie Burger hit the spot! Even though we went at 10pm, we still had to wait roughly 30 minutes to be seated. Not only is it a popular place, the interior is on the smaller scale and even smaller due to limited seating (approx. 10). However they were super organized and efficient. Our food came out relatively quick, hot and tasted delicious! Fried chicken burgers are my personal favourite but the beef burger was way better. What really stole the show were the upgraded sides! All burgers come with regular fries and you can upgrade for sweet potato fries, Caesar salad, poutine or deep fried pickles. I highly recommend getting the sweet potato fries and poutine! Great service and good food. Our group got the recommendation from some fellow Yelpers at an event in town who said they drive up from Calgary twice a year just to come to Eddie Burger + Bar. With that kind of a nod we had to check it out. I was the first to arrive around 7pm on a Saturday evening. The place was completely packed without a seat in sight. The nice guy at the front took my name and number and said they'd text in about 15-20 minutes when the table for 6 of us would be ready. This was great because we were able to browse the shops around the corner to get Xmas gifts for family members while we waited. As promised, we received a text 15 minutes later letting us know to return shortly and reply to let them know if we were coming back or if they should not hold the table for us - this was such an efficient process!! I texted them back and we made our way over. They have space for a couple larger groups in the back, which you can't see from the entrance, and which are also blocked from the cold of the front door opening every time people came and went. They have a cool cutout table area for groups larger than 8, and then our table comfortably sat the 6 of us. I ordered the veggie burger in a lettuce wrap - it was on par with my favorite veggie burger served at Great State Burger in Seattle. The lettuce wrapping was a little less sturdy than what they use at GSB, but it was good all the same. Others in the group ordered the original, the buffalo, the elk, poutine, salad, and wings. Eddie Burger + bar is a loud but small restaurant. Their tables inside are a little too tall to sit comfortably but it is not too bad. I would have liked to sit outside but there were no tables available. They DO NOT do take out in case you happen to come at a very busy time. The restrooms are disgusting as I had just come up from Moraine Lake and their environmentally friendly out houses were cleaner than the ones here. The service is quite good as they have many servers who are friendly and are ready to serve you. The hostess is very friendly! Their build your own burger menu is a little messy in my opinion as it is a reusable menu with a white board marker. It is kind of dirty as there are marks of residue all over the menu. I personally don't want to get my hands dirty before eating. I understand that it is environmentally friendly but it just didn't work for me. You can choose from a variety of meats or no meat such as elk, bison, AAA beef etc. Cheese of course is extra! There are also set burgers that come with sides on their other menu that you can choose from that will be a better deal but I decided to build my own! Sides are not included for the build your own menu. You should expect the wait time for your order to be longer as this restaurant does serve a variety of meats and each is cooked differently; took about 30mins to get our burgers. The burger itself is amazing. I ordered a bison burger with sesame seed bun, goat cheese, sauteed mushrooms, raw onions, romaine lettuce and chipotle mayo sauce. I would give the burger a 5 out of 5 stars as it was delicious and catered just to my liking as I was able to build it. I had no sides as I felt that the burger was filling enough for me! One of my friends ordered fries and the other ordered Cesar salad. Both said that it was too much for them! Stopped by for a late night bite and had our baby with us (travel has done wonders for his sleep schedule). There was a sign that said no minors after 10pm, and so we asked if we could do takeaway. It's a typical little bar type place. Cozy and casual for a drink with friends. Clean and decently spaced. Food: The menu consisted of burgers, wings, poutine bar, and other usual bar style side options (fries, deep fried pickles, onion rings). We tried the Eddie Mac Burger, a side poutine - added montreal smoked meat on top, Apple Butter BBQ wings and onion rings. The food was fresh, nicely plated and very tasty. The burger was cooked to the perfect medium well and the toppings weren't overly done. The poutine was delicious and adding the montreal smoked meat on top made it tastier. I only wished that the pieces of meat were bigger or more was added. The wings were perfectly fried and covered in just enough sauce. They were generous with the amount as we counted at least 10 big wings (ordered 1lb). It also came with a side of creamy dill dipping sauce which we loved so much, we were using it to dip our onion rings in. The onion rings were large with thick slices of onion and the perfect amount of batter. Nothing was overly oily either. Service: Excellent! The waitresses were kind, quick to seat us and take our order. The food also came out quite quickly. My favourite part of the service was the attentiveness and speed of the waitresses refilling my drink. Before I even noticed I was on the last sip of my coke, the waitress would come over and ask if I wanted a top off. They consistently did this the entire stay and I was never without a drink - I drank more coke than any one person should drink in one sitting... That's what I call great service!
