Came for happy hour with the girls and ate great. I ordered the lamb lollipops ($20), and FILET MIGNON POTSTICKERS ($10), the espresso martini and a lemon drop and everything was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was very nice and helped us pick out which drink we wanted to try next and also helped us pick out our appetizers. I also had a chance to try the berry white martini and the TRUFFLE HOUSE FRIES with the dip trio ($10) and the creamy wasabi sauce was definitely the winner of the group.

If you read my reviews, you know that I'm generally extremely positive. So to write a less than average review is a big deal for me. We were so disappointed in our meal here. We came for our sons 16th birthday and the service was lackluster. Food was average. For these prices, I expect the service to be top notch. Service was so slow and the food was barely warm. My medium steak was well done. We were never offered a dessert menu, never asked if we wanted another glass of wine, sides came out well after our steaks, we tried ordering wine and they were out of the 2 we wanted, they were out of Brussels sprouts... I could keep going. Sadly, this is our first and only time to this restaurant.

The food, service , and atmosphere, all lived up to Eddie Merlot standards. I had the filet mignon sliders cooked to my liking with house made chips. Excellent

First off, was a bit apprehensive from the reviews, but ended up pleasantly surprised. While it's no Ruby's, it's pretty decent. Had reservation and was seated promptly. Girls at the front were talking for a bit before acknowledging us. This is the difference in service compared to ya know! Seated with our waitress Jo who was very nice and explained the menu. Food was taken well and came out at appropriate times. Will says some more coordination with everyone to be smoother would be nice but not a huge deal. Bread did take like 30 minutes to come out. So the food. Had Crab cakes to start, tiny bit pretty good. 3.75. Caesar wasn't mine but had a bite, nothing crazy good but not bad. I had French onion and it was Amazing! Had filet and trio of medallions for myself. A tad undercooked IMO but still pretty good. Really, the creamed spinach was my favorite. Crème brûlée was not something I would order again. Now I would probably give this place a bit under 4 but Nonetheless, above average. Still go to Rubys for price point

Cheers to happy hour! Eddie Merlot's seriously has one of the best happy hours in town. My goodness, everything was perfect from the atmosphere, to the service, to the food. I tried the lobster roll, which was one of the best I have had, including those I have tried along the east coast. The roll was buttered to perfection and filled with big chunks of lobster. I appreciate that it was not overwhelmingly dressed in mayo. It was just perfect. I upgraded from the house chips to the truffle fries. Next time I will try the chips. For my cocktail, I ordered a bourbon lemondrop martini, which was perfectly balanced and amazing. Shout out to Teresa and Jess who tend the bar. Their super cool energy brings a fun and more relaxed vibe to the upscale scene. This is my new fav happy hour spot. Cheers!

phenomenal! The steak was cooked perfectly. everything came out exactly as described on the menu. The service was impeccable and the ambience was relaxing and surprisingly quiet for how large the restaurant was.

Great atmosphere! The service was fantastic. Our sever, Michael, was professional and personable. He was knowledgeable about the menu. We got the crab and corn bisque, mojo shrimp and scallops, and New Orleans mixed grill. All were great! Crème Brûlée for dessert was sublime! Great place to celebrate a birthday.

Is it Dressy attire? If so, what does that mean, exactly? Scoured the internet and cannot find an answer. :)

It's just business casual. A nice steakhouse but not a suite/tie formal place.

I came out in December for their Miracle pop-up in 2025…read more As someone who has gone to a ton of holiday cocktail bars and pop-ups over the last 10 years, Overlook Lodge's is probably the best I've ever been to. Be aware it will be FAST. Look at the order ahead of time if you're a picky eater/drinker. They run your appointment like clockwork, and you'll be in-and-out, gulping down cocktails, through the entire experience. Your two drinks are included (this year, anyway), and I'd honestly be surprised if you managed to have time for a third. Time zips by fast. That being said, because they do it this way, you essentially have constant service, there's "events" that happen at the end of your reservation time, (I don't want to spoil it, but cover your drink!), and then they kick you out. Service was friendly, though, and I saw the server make time to take group photos for all of the tables (including ours) with someone at the table's camera. (No bullshit "group photo" upsells here) It's kinda loud, though, and I wouldn't recommend this as a chill meet-up-and-socialize spot. (If you wanna talk, they have an addendum, Christmas-themed laid-back bar next door.) It's more of a "get blasted in the face by Christmas for an hour and then leave" experience. It's pretty loud, and talking can be a bit difficult over the music and constant interruptions (more drinks? Photos? Cute Christmas video montage?) But this works in its favor as it feels the most Christmas, over-the-top, and seasonal out of all the holiday bars I've ever been to. It also keeps it from feeling too crowded as reservations are required, so you for-sure have a seat and you don't have to stand forever in line to wait for drinks. I'd probably guesstimate that bar staff is making all of their seasonal drinks, constantly, and servers just pick one up to deliver. With the capacity in here, it would make sense. No idea what the bar is like the rest of the year; this is just a review for the Miracle pop-up which, again, is probably the best I've been to in the Midwest. Cincinnati, you're spoiled down here. (Sidenote, I was absolutely taken aback by their TV presentation on the wall. It's hard to describe, but it isn't just a projector showing a giant rectangle. It's specifically slotted into the holes in-between holiday decorations. Staff told me that had to hire special technicians to get it to show up that way and that's seriously a level of detail I am so amazed by.)

The soup was tasty, but mostly large cubes of bread with practically no cheese at all. The Croque Madame had no discernible cheese on it at all. The worst part: we each requested a coffee refill (one was never offered), and our server poured half of my friend's topped up coffee directly from her cup into my cup! I was so shocked that I was speechless. To top off this incredible faux pas, she split the check into two without asking, and I was treating my friend. Instead of bringing a new check as I requested, she had me sign her tablet that just showed the total, with no breakout, had me fill in her tip, and then walked away with neither asking me if I wanted a receipt, which of course I did, nor providing me with one. The coffee thing was so gross and unsanitary that I never shall return.

I started with the day's cream of mushroom soup with goat cheese. The soup was excellently crafted, and the mild goat cheese was the right addition. A tangy goat cheese would have clashed with the simplicity of the soup. My friend chose the jambalaya, and was very happy with it. I had pot roast, subbing wonderful roasted garlic potatoes for the mashed (which I highly recommend). The bordelaise sauce that comes on the side allows one to create a beef burguignon-type dish. The beef was cooked expertly, so it could be sliced into tender pieces that hold together. We both enjoyed their signature cornbread, of course. My friend's warm apple pie was amazing. My crème brûlée was the only thing in the entire meal that was less than amazing. The sugary layer on top was exactly as thin as I like it. The custard underneath was not impressively silky in texture. That isn't bad, but it also isn't difficult to achieve. It definitely didn't stop me from thoroughly enjoying every bite, and it's the largest crème brûlée I've ever had. So, I highly recommend Desha's, and definitely won't let years pass before I return. Addition: I should not have posted my review until after I had tried the bread pudding that I got to take home. Connor, who generally doesn't care for bread pudding, recommended it, so I had it today, heated 1 minute, covered, in the microwave. That stuff is wonderful. If you get it to go, do not taste it before you heat it, because it is clearly designed to be eaten warm. It is short on raisins, but that is a matter of taste, so I can overlook it. It isn't as good as the apple pie, but I got a bite of that, too, so I have tried all three of the recipes that interest me most, although I have to try the blackberry cobbler, too.
