I used to frequent Famous Sam's locations years ago. I recently moved back to the area after being gone 18+ years. I was a little concerned about the reviews for all the locations. I chose this one on Golf Links to visit. First, I arrived about 1 pm on a Saturday. The place was fairly busy. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. My server, Pat S came over quickly and took my drink order. She returned quickly with my drinks and I gave her my order with specific instructions. Pastrami sandwich, no mustard, provolone instead of Swiss, a side of mayo, fries and a side salad with no onions and Thousand Island dressing. Boom! Salad out first, perfect! SCORE!!! The pastrami sandwich had a decent amount of meat on it (not as much as years ago, but that's the way things are now). Pat checked on me a few times, refilled drinks when needed. I have zero complaints and don't understand the low reviews. Being a sports bar, it wasn't overly noisy. TVs everywhere. Tables and dining area very clean. I haven't been here in many years. We did a girls lunch yesterday. It was busy, like normal with those cowboy fans. The food was very yummy, I got mild wings, cooked well done for that extra crisp. They honestly were as good as (if not better than) another popular wing place in town, for a fraction of the price! There were 5 of us in our group. The quotes looked pretty stressed. She forgot one girls beer... twice. She served a child hot sandwich to another girl. And totally forgot another girl's sandwich. She was nice, but they really need to get more servers in there. Customer service is horrible! No manager on site. Called and asked about specials (over the phone) they told me it was burger day so I order two and when I arrive they say the special price is only for sit down orders. The girl on the phone never mentioned that part and handed me a bill for 30 dollars so I walked out. Service sucks I'm sure there owners and food does as well read more

Coming down to Tucson to visit my relatives, I was invited to eat here. The place is not bad per the layout. The place was not fully packed. So when the waitresses took our order I thought cool let's chill and have great catch up time with the relatives. To make a shirt story shorter, the wait time for our meal was longer than expected. Horrible order and service. I paid for extra celery and carrots, and I only got one order of it. My wings are extremely dry. I am choking on them. There's hardly any sauce on them and I was given the wrong flavor. I asked for Sriracha, honey and mango habanero, the Sriracha honey has no flavor at all and there's only seasoning, that taste plain like no flavor at all. I would think that Sriracha honey would be a liquid flavor not a dry rub. Mango habanero has hardly any sauce on them. I ordered these wings specifically for the flavor so I would expect you to drench them not put less than half. it's very disappointing. I was looking forward to this. I have to give an extra special shout out to a server, Kayla! I witnessed her nearly drop four trays of food. Only one tray spilled on a clean nearby table. Famous Sam's is one of the best places around golf links. There are specials through the week as well as happy hour and reverse happy hour. Nice little local hangout with live bands. I don't have any complaints about the service. The servers and bartenders have always been great. After having burgers which were "ok" by that I mean the hamburger meat has much to be improved upon especially when compared to other restaurants I've been to that charge the same price for the burger. I really only have two complaints: 1. The the beef in the nachos is horrendous in my opinion, I would love turkey meat, chili, canned beef stew, anything other than the beef in he nachos, the rest of the nachos are great, one of the few places that you will run out of nacho chips before running out of toppings and the portion is great for the price. 2. The bathroom for males, guys.. etc. the disturbing factor rivals that of old gas station bathrooms, I thought I needed to go to church afterwards to properly clean my soul after exiting the bathroom. Maybe I had bad timing but it has been the same experience every time I've seen the bathroom. Other than that, it's a great place and they have pool tables and a few other arcade games. read more

Decided to get some food delivered from Sam's while they were shut down for dine-in. Food came packaged very well and with plenty of food. I ordered wings, sliders and fries and they sent enough of everything on top of sauces, napkins etc. The only downside was the sliders were pretty overcooked and the wings (medium) dry. I've dined in several times and know this would've been remedied immediately if I was there. I can appreciate everything else though and would order again. read more

Had famous Sam's over the weekend. We ordered delivery with Grubhub. Excellent experience! My friend has been telling me about their pastrami sandwich for a long time so ordered famous pastrami, club sandwich, and fish&chips. All of the food was well prepared. I liked the pastrami..delicious! My friend remembers it being bigger and meatier but it seemed like a fair size to me. Club sandwich was perfect! Fries arrived crispy not a soggy droopy mess. I had the worst experience while picking up my order today. I usually post positive experiences but today was totally different. I ordered an online order and waited patiently for 10 minutes for any kind of acknowledgment. I know it can be busy on a Friday (4pm) but when staring at my order I decided to try to ask if someone could assist me. An Asian waitress proceeded to raise her voice when I asked if someone assist me. She yelled, " You can't go back there and wait" then she walked away. I told her not to talk to me like that and I was just trying to pick up my order after a long day at work. I was stunned since I've never had anyone at a restaurant yell aggressively at me. A super nice waitress then walked by and apologized for her coworker VERY VERY rude approach and retrieved my order. Not only was that embarrassing, it was belittling. I ordered 2 bacon cheeseburgers at 5:45 tonight. They told me to give them 30-35 minutes because they were busy. I got there at 6:15 and there were only people sitting at the bar. They asked me what they could get for me. I told them I had ordered 2 Bacon Cheeseburgers They brought it right up and I payed. I live 5 minutes from there. When I got home at 6:25 I took my wife's and my burgers and plated them. They weren't even room temperature. Almost cold. I looked in both of them. Neither had Bacon or Cheese. I wish I hadn't tipped them. I don't call and complain. I just never return. So buyer beware if you want a cold burger with nothing that you ordered on it. I'd like to give a 3.5 but I'm gonna round up because the service was solid. If you want a divey/small town bar kind of feel, then this is the place for you. I only came for lunch because I heard they had a great pastrami sandwich. The place seemed to have a good amount of "regulars " hanging out. I was a bit put off at first because it took a long time to get anyone's attention to order. But once we ordered , all was good. I got the pastrami and it was really good. They give you hot mustard on the side and it was the perfect addition to the salty crispy pastrami. The BF had a cheesesteak and he wolfed it so I guess it was good. We went to Famous Sam's to watch football one Sunday in December. It's been years since we have gone there. Still looks the same inside - kinda old and rundown, but we always liked the food. We ordered a couple of beers and split one of their "famous" pastrami sandwiches. It was as good as I remember ! The crispy, crunchy fries were very good also.
