This place doesn't look like much on the outside, just another dumpy looking building, but you can see by the traffic in parking lot something was going on in here so I gave it a try. The inside is nothing fancy, but the food was great and very unique. They make some great drinks too, and the service was very good. The only drawback is the bill is NOT going to be cheap. I suggest looking at the YELP photos and you will see what I mean, the drinks and food are far above the norm. It is easy to drop $100 for lunch if you want to go full throttle, but still a good deal. I will be going back! read more

Decided to stop here for a beverage and the vibe. It is my 63rd BD and I wanted a beverage and some food!! This place is a great locals bar. Food is excellent and the vibe is festive. I have memories of coming here with my bestie on many occasions. Like the OG better than the DWTN. Just personal preference, but the OG feels more like a neighborhood vibe. Medium sized bar with a welcoming vibe. Went during happy hour on a Saturday so a mix of families, regulars and the rest. Friendly bar staff with generous pours of alcohol. The micheladas are SICK! People were constantly referring me to the neighborhood for the mechiladas so we went and had some delicious birria tacos and then came back again for them. First time here. I came with my boyfriend to watch the Broncos game. Atmosphere was great and bartenders were nice, but I wish our bartender Lina took down our order instead of memorizing it because it came out wrong. I specifically said no onions or tomatoes on my salad and it came out with both. I would have been okay if she apologized and took accountability that it was her mistake but she didn't say sorry once. I told her, "I said I didn't want onions or tomatoes." And she said "that's right" and took it to the back. When she returned she said, "it shouldn't take that long." Still no apology. My boyfriend already had his tacos at this point, so I had to wait longer to eat with him. When the salad finally did come out, the boneless chicken was hard. I couldn't even eat it. I basically left the whole salad there and Lina didn't ask what was wrong with it or if I wanted a box. She just picked up the salad and started scooping it into the trash. I was fed up at this point. And then she has the audacity to ask if we want shots to wash it down. Umm no. Please learn to apologize when you mess up someone's order. Went here to watch a football game, and have a couple drinks. A little crowded but that's a good thing, right? Food was great, wings were crispy and weren't overly saucy, nachos were tasty but could have used a little more cheese. Service was fantastic. The only reason for not giving five stars is someone in our group got a Bloody Mary and it was so salty that it was undrinkable. I'm in town for a few weeks and I can honestly say that The Neighborhood is definitely my go to spot. They have the three things I look for in order to be a a frequent patron...great food, drinks, and service! I will start of by saying the Happy Hour is definitely one of the bests in the city. $5 Margaritas, Wings (get the Jack Daniels flavor), and Nachos...you cannot go wrong. If you order any tacos and have no fish/shellfish allergy I definitely suggest getting the battered shrimp tacos. The shrimp are huge and they do not just give you a couple, they give you enough to fill your tortilla. It's flavorful and filling. My next favorite are the Jack Daniels wings. The sauce alone makes my mouth water but the chicken is cooked to perfections. I would also recommend the Buffalo Chicken sandwich so you have some really good options. My only complaint is that the music is so loud. You can barely hear the person sitting next to you. I'm from Atlanta so I love hip hop music, reggaeton, and the top 40 hits like the no other but I want to enjoy the people I'm with, as well. I'm not saying turn the music off, I'm just saying turn the music down a little and the rest is gravy! read more

I hate to post any type of negative reviews, but unfortunately, this one is warranted. We went for Sunday brunch to the downtown location. And unfortunately, we were not very happy with the service or the food or drinks. We had seen many of the pictures, online of the delicious drinks, but when we ordered them, they were nothing like the pictures. We ordered the nachos with chicken, since it sounded delicious, and unfortunately, some of the worst nachos that I've had in Tucson. And you know that there is a lot to choose from here. We also got the shrimp tacos as la Parrilla and unfortunately those were horrible. It seem like they were blanched and lack any flavor. The seasoning was completely not there, the tortillas were falling apart, and the sauce and salsa that they gave us was extremely salty . And for the drinks, we ordered a Michelada and that was very subpar also. I've definitely had better Michelada's at dive bars. The only reason that it was upsetting is because the neighborhood tilted south as one of the best in town. We also ordered just a draft beer, and that was at room temperature. After we finished, our first set of drinks, we ordered a piña colada, and that was as if you were just drinking blended ice. Like flavor lacked any type of passion from the bartender. Now to the service, I know it was early in the day around 11:30 in the morning, but the staff seem to be very slow yeah , and not ready to give their best service. read more

I was vibing to the Latin/hip hop club mix music and the bar manager (not sure if this was really his role) had jokes!! My server was also the bartender so she was busy, but friendly. Okay, let me tell you about the food. The drinks looked pretty and they were good!! I'm definitely coming back for happy hour! The tacos were a great value and they let me order two queso birrias and try one jaas with my order. I really loved the jaas taco, the sopa for the quesa birria could've used some depth. I freakin' love this place! We had no idea what to expect and picked the spot randomly to have a little birthday celebration and watch game 5 of the NLCS last night. GO DODGERS! Ample parking in the back, a very nice bouncer/greeter right outside the door and clean & inviting interior. Among the four of us we had: calamari appetizer, a basic burger & fries for the kid, La Sonorense burger, Drizzled Carne Asada Burrito and 2 quesabirria tacos and 1 Jaas taco. The kid liked her burger but only ate half and none of her fries due to the fact she loaded up on Mexican Coca-Cola. LOL My son was digging on his Sonorense burger, the hubs ate ALL of his Drizzled burrito and I absolutely loved my tacos. Both were absolutely delicious. Oh - and that calamari? Perfect - very tender and fried just enough. Served with tartar sauce, a light cocktail sauce and a grilled lemon (nice touch on the lemon!). Drinks consisted of a small pitcher of Bud Light, a couple of Mangoyadas (soooo good!), a Michelada (excellent) and a bourbon with a coke back. Our server, Nayda (sp?) couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. I asked her on the sly if they do anything for birthdays since we were there celebrating my son's birthday and she said they really didn't. However she could give him a blow job.....SHOT. LOL She was so nice and made a big deal of presenting it to him and wishing him a happy birthday. Plenty of TVs inside and on the patio (love the patio) so we were able to watch the game. Only thing is, they only turn the sound on for sports when it's a fight being aired. No problem, we could still see the game and listen to a great mix of music being played to music videos on some of the TVs. Good food but beware as it is EXTREMELY loud inside. Luckily, they have outdoor seating so we quickly asked to move outside and were pleasantly surprised to find that we had the whole space to ourselves. That said, we seemed to have been forgotten and I had to go back inside to ask someone behind the bar to please send a server out to take our order. From that point on, it was a good experience and we enjoyed conversing with our server, Michelle, who was fun. We learned they have late night karaoke on their patio (around 9 pm) and that the outside area gets busy and loud. The tacos were yummy and the margarita flight was tasty -- and at $9.99 a good bargain; however, my husband said he couldn't taste the tequila. I'm a light weight and usually can feel the alcohol after just a few sips, but not in this case, so I'd have to agree with him. I had been waiting to try this place for a while after seeing many of their items on Instagram, and was not disappointed.. by my entree at least. The inside was really nice as well and the bathrooms were nice and clean ! Service however was lacking as it took fooooorever to get some tortilla soup, a couple tacos, and our garlic fries appetizer. When I finally asked the server about our food, it was all mysteriously ready the moment she went and checked... I understand that food can take a while at times but it was not very busy and the fact that the server didn't come by to address the wait time rubbed me the wrong way. The soup my friend ordered was cold.. however I enjoyed my tacos. I was disappointed in the garlic fries but can't explain why.. I was just expecting a little more umph that wasn't there ! What a find, went in to watch the game...sadly game was not available. But we stayed for the food which was amazing. Had the freshest calamari for a truly landlocked city, was so good. He had the chicken wings with sauce on the side and I had the jalapeno burger. Would recommend both items. Service was fast and drinks never emptied. Don't let its exterior catch you off guard! While the parking lot and exterior of this local establishment looks sketchy AF, the fine gentlemen if this joint will stand outside to make sure the patrons arrive and depart safe and sound. Inside is a neat place with cool lighting, great servers, delicious food, and lots of cocktails! I came here with a friend tried the burger with barbecue sauce. I believe it was called Jack Danny or something mentioning barbecue. The burger was cooked perfectly and served with crispy fries. Definitely will come back!
