We stumbled in this place during a visit to Greer. Because of the recent fire there were very few people in the area. We were not sure what to expect. We were greeted by a big smile of the Hungarian waitress/ hostess and felt like royalty from the moment we stepped in. The food and drinks were on point and the views were amazing. I highly recommend for a great homemade feeling dish and great service. Sadly I saw some of the bad reviews which surprised me. I imagine it has something to do with people that have no clue that fresh dishes take longer to make than fast food items. I would say even during a busy day this place is well worth the wait. Kudos to the family run businesses

We had a great time here. We rented one of the cabins as we had our 2 dogs with us. Really pretty location. The owners and staff are so nice and friendly. The restaurant was awesome with great authentic German food and beer. Sitting out on the restaurant patio for dinner in June was really nice. Decent continental breakfast. Can't wait to come back. Highly recommend.

We really enjoy Edelweiss. They have a great selection of German beers, and a nice wine selection. Deanna and the staff are great. The view is amazing, and the food we have had is always delicious. Had the original Bratwurst on this trip and they were excellent. Highly recommend.

Sehr gut, sehr gut, sehr gut!!!! I walked up the road from the cabin I'm staying in to grab dinner at this quant restaurant. I opted for out on the patio since I had my dog with me. They are very dog friendly and very friendly folks in general. The nice lady that helped me said they smoke the Eisbien for 8/9 hours until it's falling off the bone. I ended up ordering it to go since it was windy, and they were closing within the hour and I didn't want to be that person. Let me tell you! I'm Swiss German. And I haven't had a meal this authentic since I was at my uncle Rene's restaurant in British Columbia or back in my mom's home country Switzerland visiting family. The Rotkohl and German fried potatoes took me back to family dinners. The food was fresh, and very wonderfully traditional. The sauerkraut was Bavarian which is my favorite. I gobbled it down with lots of moans of mmm and wow, and omg mmmmm mmmm mmkmmm. Guess where Im having my birthday dinner? Guess! Lol Such a lovely spot to relax amongst the beauty of the trees. The patio is wonderful. The views alone and the tranquility there make for a special spot. The food sends it into phenomenal!

Hubs & I drove up to Greer for a nice meal here at Edelweiss. It's not the first time we've been here & thoroughly enjoy the food. We shared the Beer Hots - which was a generous portion for the two of us. The second best thing about Edelweiss is the fact they serve Coke products. (lol - hard to find in the White Mountains). The server was attentive, though there was only one other table of 6 people enjoying their food too. We were they for a late lunch/early dinner and it was a Sunday. The restaurant itself is nice and airy, with great views. Not sure how to get to the outdoor seating. This is a nice option if you're looking for something other than steak & potatoes.

This place is a hidden gem! We have been coming up to Greer for years and never had the pleasure of eating here. There was one other family there when we arrived during lunch. We were greeted, handed menus and sat wherever we liked. The views there are beautiful. The food was outstanding, particularly the Hungarian Stew (pork). It tasted like it had been cooked just for me. The flavor was unbelievable. The only improvement they could possibly make would be to serve it over spatzel. Both schnitzels were delicious as were the brats. Portions were generous. I cannot wait to come back here again next year!

This was our first time at Greer and the appeal of the German food and beer at Edelweiss Resort and Restaurant is why we chose to stay here. No regrets!! It was beautiful, the food delicious and their beer and cider selections were great! The wonderful lady that checked us in also served dinner and shared with us the ingredients and how they make many items from scratch daily. We met Rodney at the lodge, he runs the rental gear and is a fantastic guy!! Super friendly customer service, tons of knowledge about the area and where to fish and we will definitely return here for our escape from the Phx heat. They rent recreational vehicles too!! Canoes, kayaks, SxS, E-bikes, Trikes, Can-Ams!!

Okay, we decided to try Edelweiss. What a great view from their patio. Sitting outside o their multi-tier patio has a great view of the valley. The inside is good, but sitting outside is a must. They have a very good amount of choices on the menu and if you are looking for that German food fix, you will be able to find it here. The quantity of the food and quality was very good. My wife was able to find a gluten free option on the menu as well as a gluten free beer. Fantastic! I am very careful about discussing service. As someone who struggles with service staff hiring here in the White Mountains, I understand the challenge all restaurants face. Our server was very new and she was working by herself. She was in a little over her head and really could have used help. She was trying and I give her credit for that, but something I just can't go with out pointing out....... Unless I am at some food shack on the beach in Hawaii, I am never going to be okay with a server wearing flip-flops! If you are looking for something different when you are in Greer, Az., go ahead and give it a chance.

The lovely view from the outside tables.

Horrible. Dried out attempts at German food. Sauces deplorable. Ambiance embarrassing. Service lazy. Amazed that they are still in business

Prost, Cheers, Salut! Whatever form that you celebrate too a…read moreliquor store is near. What time it? It's time for cheers and beers right! Claiming Vegas as my backyard, for a minute the moments that I needed an extra boost, I found here. Happy can be found in whatever feeds your needs at the moment. My moments as I do work in this small little town will be remembered when I reach for the potion that kept me warm and secure. I breezed in as fast as I breezed out. Snooze that alarm clock goes off and I wake up. The snooze is a must because the sun is not even up yet. Maybe snooze one more time. As I remember to stand, I make it to the drink; I'm trying to recall the memories that might have been, the moments that I'm living now. It's another day, let's visit this little store to seek what makes my moments more bearable. Back in town again, the local hotel it's walking throws to this store. The clerk does not know my name. He smiles and probably wonders why he's here. The small brown bag are just the joys of my life as of now. These are my todays, these are the past moments that were my days. These days are now a little brighter and less broken. We all must go through moments of transition as pen this and recall the past, this is where these times stay. Now into the future, yes the future brings joy too! Who would of thought? Times do change, again recalls of the past make todays even better! It reminds me of some words that "you" shared with me. Then, the days these moments when I breezed into town held these moments and memories are never gonna happen to be the same. The days always seemed to move together and in a mesh of fixed blurs. No smiles grazed my face, the memories before your name took these moments and made them reflections in the fast. The moments I lived, my old days fade away when your name pops in my brain. Let that play again, "the moments I lived, my old days fade, when your name pops in my brain." An ordinary life and moments reflect in the mirror are the past: replaced with in between hope and ultimate joy. Some habits must be buried and bring better days! As it seems now, my days and thoughts of needing a bottle or two or three to soothe me are over; this store was the foundation of my visits when I came to town to work. Sure it's an ordinary liquor store in the middle of a no where town in any given city; but the kindness of the clerk made me happy. A smile and conscious genuine joy of other human beings was all the standards that one needs especially when we feel so low and alone. If you ever roll through here stop in for that "drink of choice," as needed. But the liquor store stocks hard to find sodas that you may of only had as a kid. Take a stroll down memory lane, or just wander in so the store clerk can smile at someone and be reminded of humanism too. Smile and pass along joy in the wink of the moment you meet another's glance. Remember we are all in this together, it's always better to be nice for it makes life much easier and happier!

It reminded us both of our sake sipping days at the now closed Santa Monica Airport's restaurant, Typhoon **. Christmas gift exchange. I gave my friend sourdough starter. Hey, it was the tail end of the pandemic. My treat was a chilled bottle of Atsuo Sakurai's raw unprocessed, premium Junmai Ginjo sake. We shared, sipped, savored soul soothing elixir at my dining room table. I never did find out how that fine bottle made it there though. Photographed the bottle but self-editing me deleted it, didn't review Arizona Sake either concerned Yelp would 86 both because I didn't visit AZ. May still remove. Read it while it's here...
