Oh goodness.....where to start...... I like to start on a good note so let's start with the pros. Let me state that we stopped in to eat on Saturday night around 5:30 pm. It was not very busy. Pros: Nice presentation on the food and it tasted good. We ordered the Dirty Dozen (chicken wings) and Crab Cakes for appetizers. Our entrees consisted of hamburgers and fries for everyone on our party. Cons: I'm not even sure where to start. We chose to sit outside in the patio area as it was "choose your own seat". The outside seating area was not very well taken care of - tables not wiped off, chairs dirty/covered excessively in dust. We had a party of 3, waitress only provided 2 menus and then needed 1 back while we ordered because she was not familiar with food items. Menu was multiple pages and just loose instead of in folder and considering prices found this tacky. Waitress also immediately upon seating us let us know that she had just started and was just "thrown" in to job with little training and then provided us with a list of food items not available - there were several. Waitress also stated more than once that cook was upset and yelling at her because she kept asking for clarification of items not available. Upon receiving our entrees, we were "asked" to share our ketchup because they didn't have enough containers to serve all of us. I also ordered a mixed drink when we first arrived and was told they were out of some portion of the drink and I'm fairly sure it was the alcohol. The drink was supposed to be a salivated vodka mixed with lemonade and the drink tasted and looked purely like lemonade. I did ask and did not receive a clear answer but was charged for an alcoholic beverage. In addition, they are still using glasses from the previous business. Overall: Considering the price point I was not at all impressed. This location has the potential to be an amazing restaurant. It was a Friday evening 7:45pm stopped in for a drink and maybe a bite . There was 4 cars out front. They have 2 SMALL open signs, very DARK as you enter glad we have hardly any rattlers up here Went in 3 people at the bar and another party at a table. Bartender nice man informed us kitchen was closed . Ok so we'll have a drink. Week drink plenty of 7up. Beer Was cold and good. Hrs of operation suck and the days of operation. Maybe if you were open and lit up you might have more customers. This use to be a great location with the patio open , a band and more people than you can imagine. The shrimp cocktail was delicious! The sauce was not the original cocktail sauce, and so yummy. Vegetables tempura was crispy and perfect! The only thing missing was a secret sauce. The flavor was great and the veggies cooked just right! We shared a Brisket plate. The meat fell apart on the fork and melted in my mouth. The sauce was just right, Not to sweet. The garlic mashed potatoes blew my mind! SO a melty and fresh. We also tried the baked potatoe... the cowboy beans were sweet abs spice and paired perfect with the baked potato. Having dined at Bertie's 2 The Stockyard several times, we have had pleasant experiences. Food was delicious and the service (although short staffed due to low turn out) was pleasant and attentive. Only draw back was the lack of desert. read more

Berties 2 The Stockyard was absolutely amazing. I have been there twice in the last month and it was nothing short of phenomenal! The food was great, the service was great, everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time. I wish I would have gotten a picture of the Rodeo Burger the first time I went, but since I didn't, it was one of the best Rodeo Burgers I have ever had. The 2nd time I went I had the chicken Alfredo (pictured) and the chicken was seasoned amazingly and the Alfredo sauce was delicious. My friend had the other plate and he devoured it. I have nothing but awesome things to say about this place. The owners also came out to check to see how we were enjoying our food both times and were extremely friendly/treated us like a family. I give a lot of leeway to restaurants on the mountain. This was probably the worst that I have had in the area. The steak was tough. The cuts of meat were poor. They were almost out of everything. The presentation was poor. Imagine an ice cream scoop of mashed potatoes on your plate Next to a steak that was cold or overcooked or undercooked. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant and the service was very, very slow. Even the baked cauliflower appetizer was undercooked. The baked potatoes were undercooked. We didn't get part of our food. They were probably out of four steaks, possibly five they ran out of vegetables. The only thing that I can say is that the staff was very friendly. Most of the staff were hanging out with friends or family. I would not recommend this and I will not be back. There were just too many things wrong. read more

Worst restaurant experience we (4 persons) ever. Waitress was so friendly she sat at the table to take the order. The family from the next table stopped by to tell us their experience and let us know they would never be back. The table on the other side of ours finally told them that if their food wasn't out in two minutes, they were leaving. Anpther older couple were getting ready to leave without eating. I wanted to like the Stockyard because I do like Bertie's Cafe. But we went today (Sunday) and you could only get the buffet. We were told it had brisket, prime rib and shrimp along with breakfast. So we thought we'd give it a try. We won't be back. The prime rib was close to medium (I like rare) and it was about 1/8 of an inch thick. I've never seen prime rib so thin. It was overly salty, as were my husband's ribs. No brisket to be seen. There was overly cooked, dried out salmon also. For $28 each, we should have stayed home. Definitely nowhere near fine dining! The breakfast items were also unappealing. The biscuits looked stale and cold, like bricks. Eggs, pancakes, all cold. The staff was friendly. I feel sorry for them having to tell everyone how much people love this buffet. Yeah, like I said, won't be back. read more

Service seemed a bit slow even though there was not many people in the restaurant. It took almost 20 minutes just for the server to bring us the bread, which was underwhelming at best. The food came in about 35 minutes after placing the order. All in all, the food was just okay, nothing special. Steaks were undercooked, Chicken was just chicken and the Pork was also just okay. They are going to have to step up their game if they want to keep the place packed. We would go back, but it certainly would not be our 1st, 2nd, or 3rd choice for a restaurant. read more

The salad bar was surrounded by flies, the Prime Rib was not good at all. Husband ordered 16 Oz and I ordered the 10 Oz, both where the same size, but his was $15 more. Only 4 tables including ours. Everyone left within 30 minutes. So we were only customers. My sister and I went there Sunday around 5:30. She ordered ribeye steak and I ordered the prime rib. When we got our meals, neither looked like what we had ordered. The steak looked like it had been butchered apart then seared. It was tough and tasteless.. The prime rib was very solid, tough and tasteless. Prime rib should ooze flavor and melt in your mouth. We don't go out to eat very often thought we would try Birdies since Hungary Buffalo closed. We were seated promptly and got our drinks. Waiter took our order about 10 min later.
