    Angelhair pesto chicken pasta
    Brendan C.

A old beat down shack with frozen reheated entrees. My girlfriend ordered the pappardelle pasta and got angel hair marinara pasta with pesto chicken on top. Eh, looks funky and not what she ordered but we were comped a piece of chocolate mousse cake which we ate with plastic forks that they brought with it. I ordered a stew which tasted very canned and was brought a wet dinner salad with no dressing. After I had a bite I asked our waiter for some dressing. He came back with our entrees 5 minutes later so I abandoned the salad. This is connected to the sunrise lodge and both are lacking any quality. They have a monopoly of being the only hotel and restaurant within 20 minutes (edited for Adam L. thanks for so nicely correcting me!) so they can really so whatever they want. If you want a nice quality vacation spot don't stay or eat here.

PersNIKKIty's Cafe - Mac and cheese was the best we have had off a kids menu

Great hometown diner with the typical foods and drinks. Recommended to us by another (former)…read morelocal, we decided to go for dinner. Lots of seating and a very welcoming environment. We ordered at the counter and food was brought to our table. They brought fries for the kids meal instead of a fruit cup but quickly and graciously brought it out with a sincere apology. It was one of the best burgers I have had and all three types of fries were the perfect crispness and taste. Will definitely be recommending this anytime someone heads up to Show Low!

"Persnikkity's Food Offers a Lot: Hits the Hungry Spot"…read more Walking into Persnikkity in Show Low (which I have done many times from their old location to their new one), you immediately feel like you've stumbled onto something the town's been keeping to itself. The place has that lived-in charm where locals know each other's orders, and the staff treats you like you're part of the club from minute one. I've made the Asian chicken wrap and twisted beef Philly my reliable go-tos--they nail that balance of fresh and hearty that keeps pulling me back. The morning totchos are a brilliant mess of everything breakfast should be, the chicken and waffle hits that sweet-savory note without trying too hard, and even their bagel with salmon comes out like they actually care about it. The vanilla matcha bubble tea deserves its own mention because it tastes like someone put thought into it rather than just dumping powder into a cup. Service here makes the food taste even better--attentive without hovering, friendly without being fake. The vibe is casual enough that you can show up in whatever you're wearing, but the food quality makes it clear they're taking things seriously where it counts. It's the kind of spot where you find yourself coming back not just for one signature dish, but because the whole experience just works.
