I visited this Middle Eastern restaurant on a weekday at noon, so it wasn't very busy and just one other customer dining at the time. I was warmly greeted by a lovely lady who seemed to be both the manager and the waitress. The restaurant has a vintage style; it's set in an old building, giving it a vibe, but honestly, it looked a bit worn down and didn't seem that clean especially the restroom, which also didn't appear very sanitary. For food, I tried the sujuk appetizer: a spicy sausage with sautéed veggies. Unfortunately, it wasn't like what I've had before; something about the taste was off, and I didn't enjoy it. I also ordered the mixed grill plate, which came with three portions: chicken, ground beef, and steak. The steak was actually quite good, and I really enjoyed that, but the chicken didn't taste like a young, fresh chicken; it was like one of those big, hormone-fed birds. The rice was not fresh and it was a warm up from the day before. Overall, I didn't really like the food quality and didn't feel like it matched the price at all. On the plus side, the service was really nice; that lady was very kind and genuine. One odd thing was that there was nothing on the table; no salt, pepper, napkins, or sauces. you have to ask for everything. And since the railroad is so close, you occasionally hear a loud train passing by. All in all, despite the warm service, I probably won't be coming back. read more

I really wanted to like Eden Garden Fusion Grill because I came in after seeing some pretty solid reviews, but my experience ended up falling short in a few big ways. I went with a friend about an hour after they opened and parking was actually super easy with a decent lot behind the building, which was a great start. When we walked in, we were greeted by a very sweet woman who seemed to be doing everything at once, taking orders, handling receipts on a laptop, and running the front. She was kind and welcoming, and honestly probably the highlight of the visit. We ordered pretty quickly, including a platter and an appetizer, and the food came out surprisingly fast, which at first felt like a plus but ended up raising a few questions. The food itself just didn't hit. The sausage appetizer was the biggest letdown. You could tell it wasn't fresh, and as someone who genuinely loves sausage, that was disappointing. It tasted like something I could have thrown together at home without much effort, which isn't what you expect when you're dining out. The platter was okay at best. The chicken pieces were unusually large and just felt off in texture, and the beef didn't really stand out either. Even the rice didn't taste fresh, which kind of tied the whole meal together in a not-so-great way. Nothing was terrible to the point of being inedible, but nothing made me want to come back either. It just wasn't giving what it needed to give, especially for a Mediterranean spot that I had higher expectations for. The overall vibe of the place didn't help. The building feels older and a bit worn down, especially the restrooms, which honestly reminded me more of public restrooms than a restaurant. The space itself is very open and echoey, so even with just a few people inside, you can hear everything, which makes it feel a little awkward and not very intimate. On top of that, the train passing by was incredibly loud and literally shook the building, which completely threw off the experience. I had seen mentions of it before but didn't expect it to be that intense. It might not bother everyone, especially if you're used to it, but for me it was a major distraction. Overall, between the food, the atmosphere, and that unexpected interruption, it ended up being more disappointing than enjoyable. I wouldn't come back or recommend it. read more

Plan your next event here! This place is such a gem, family owned and loved. We recently held our son's law school graduation party here and it did not disappoint- the patio is perfect for large gatherings (we had 80), they helped us with getting a belly dancer and dj. The food was AMAZING - my guests raved on and on about it even the next day I received called. The servers are always soo sweet and friendly. It truly feels like a family gathering. After passing right by Eden many times over the last year, I was finally able to stop in for a quick to go order before my work day. Upon walking in I was greeted right away and asked if I have been there before. They provided me a menu which I looked over. I ended up going with the chicken kabob. It was a quick choice for me but I do wish I had more time to have sat down at eat because the menu looked really good, just as good as the smells coming from the kitchen. My order was quickly put together (exactly what you want from a to-go order) and I was on my way. When I opened my box it was exactly as the menu described. It was fresh, it was seasoned well, the chicken was tender, and it was a perfect portion, despite how small it looks in the photo ( it's a pretty large Takeaway box). My husbands friend invited us to this location. At first , based on the yelp photos, i thought this was more of a take out food place but it's a hidden little gem off of downtown upland . The menu is extensive and i look forward to going back to try more items. I got the beef Kebob . The filet mignon was one of the best I've ever had . This place was delicious! My only complaint was that my stomach wasn't big enough to eat more. While the interior felt a little confused (American Diner? Our first time coming here. It was completely empty during lunch time on a Friday. The menu does not mention that they put almonds on top of their rice. I'm highly allergic to almonds. All they did was scrape off the rice and put new rice on the same plate. Found almonds under the vegetables on the plate. All the food had the same weird taste to it, possibly old oil. My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Saturday night around 6pm for the first time. You have the option to sit inside or outside; We chose to sit outside. There were 2 large groups of people, which was fine, but can get pretty noisy with the sounds of the fountains/waterfalls. The food: in my opinion, the meats could have been seasoned more. Both the chicken and beef felt like there was something missing and lacking flavor, even though they were cooked well and tender. Another note, I wish they put half the amount of veggies on the plate and gave the option of something else on the side, for example hummus to dip the meat in for more flavor? We did get a separate plate of hummus and pita bread, which also tasted like it was missing something, possibly lemon? I am middle eastern, so I have eaten plenty of Mediterranean food so I may be a harsh critic!! So for 2 waters, the 2 plates, and hummus for the appetizer, We spent about $70 including tip. This is a total hidden gem. The parking situation is a bit confusing. Improved on one side of the restaurant, I only saw a few parking spots. I walked in to an empty restaurant. We dined here several times 4 or 5 years ago and remember it being a great place to have hookah in a quiet patio in an offbeat location in upland. The food was tasty and drinks were well made. The hookah was good. Not the best not the worst. Fast forward to yesterday My wife and I wanted to relive that experience on a Sunday and we were not surprised at the near empty restaurant on a Sunday afternoon as all the previous times we had been here the place was always fairly empty. Service was good not spectacular considering, other than us there was just one other table on the inside. We made the mistake of ordering everything at once including the hookah but stated we wanted our appetizer first. Our drinks took over 10 minutes and my margarita was watered down alcohol with little margarita taste. My wife's drink could have used half of my drinks alcohol content. The drink she loved before now tasted like mango puree with a spicy rim. Bummer. The lunch then came followed shortly by the appetizer! Ugh. Ok at least it's going to taste great! No. Unfortunately the chicken shawarma I loved 4 years ago was tasteless. Well actually I'm being too nice. There was a funk. I asked for the tzatziki sauce and what I got was this white tasteless sauce with chunks of cucumber in it. So now I have funky chicken and tasteless tzatziki sauce. No bueno. My wife ordered the fattoush salad with chicken addedwhich was her favorite thing to get there. Unfortunately she was not impressed with it either. I thought it was ok but again my BAC was rising and she was drinking a mango/tahin slushee. The appetizer was good. Not great. We ordered the mint orange for our hookah on an apple head. The hookah was initially weak with little mint taste. The tuned it up at our request and it wasn't much better. Overall it was a sad day. We paid for an Uber thinking we both would be hammered and satiated. Instead we left with half of us sober as a priest on Sunday and the other drunk as a skunk. We ordered a large dinner salad to share with blue cheese dressing, we had talked about the balsamic glaze on the salmon so much I think the waiter got confused and put the balsamic dressing on our salad, boy that was a mistake I was so happy about! The dressing and the salad were incredible, the salad came piled on a platter, enough for 4 people! I had the Kefta kabob which had a bunch of flavor and so tender. Hubby had the salmon and potatoes and really liked it (sauce on the side). Can I just say their Persian tea was DELICIOUS! I'll go back just for the tea, but the food was great too. Eden Fusion has a nice patio, allowing the pup to join the family meal. . It was decent for a birthday celebration. The evening we went, the heaters were not available and the weather was a bit cold. The food was delicious and plentiful if a bit pricey. Most entrees are well over $20. For the 5 of us, it was about $140 plus tip (3 full meals and a shared appetizer). One of our colleagues had food allergies, and our waiter made sure she would have something delicious to eat. We all ordered different things that drove the point home that this was a fusion restaurant. I had the filet mignon sandwich, which was delicious and was surprisingly for a good price.
