We actually go to get massages pretty often and unfortunately this was by far the worst we have ever gotten. It just was not good, it felt like my kid was playing around on my back ‍ the space was cold, and unwelcoming. Then at the end we were literally pressured to tip. I have never seen anything like it. Soon as we got to the front they had the receipt there waiting with a pen, (we already paid and signed so clearly it was bc they wanted us to write on a top... literally three people were waiting looking at us. It was weird. So bc we were unsatisfied we decided to tip 10%, in which the man proceeded the yell "EXCUSE ME" we were so taken aback ... I decided to go to my cash app to see what was in it... it was a bit more "petty cash" so I used my cash app to give a forced additional tip (something they didn't tell us about it the beginning after saying our only option of paying was cash or card and we were charged $5 to use our card). I booked the visit a couple of weeks in advance, completed all required forms, and provided my insurance information. They also required full payment upfront, explaining it would be adjusted later to account for any copays or insurance coverage. When I arrived for the appointment, the receptionist immediately informed me that Eastern Roots was not in-network with United Healthcare and that I could instead submit an out-of-network claim. That was not an acceptable option, as out-of-network costs are significantly higher. It was clear the practice knew this in advance but failed to notify me until after I had driven over an hour to get there. When I requested a refund--since I was unwilling to proceed with a provider that misrepresented their insurance status--they refused, citing their 24-hour cancellation policy. However, I hadn't canceled the appointment; I arrived in good faith, expecting coverage. Only once I learned the true facts, which the clinic already knew, did I decline to continue. To make matters worse, the owner, Sarah Alemi, did not speak with me directly and instead sent an email referencing the cancellation policy. At this point, I have disputed the charge with my credit card company. I would strongly caution others to verify network participation and transparency before booking with this practice

Specifically, Frank has played a key role in my healing process for my shoulder and back injuries and numbness in my arms. We focus a good deal on dry needling on my neck, shoulder, and back. I came in to treat stress, along with back/neck problems. She was patient and took the time to listen to my needs and concerns and knew exactly how she could help. The acupuncture itself was painless! It was my first time receiving this treatment and Khanita was helpful in explaining the entire process (it made me feel super intrigued! She has diagrams on the wall, which showed me a lot about her knowledge in acupuncture). Cupping was uncomfortable at first, but Khanita made adjustments to ensure I was comfortable. I called again and the woman seems to understand only if you're coming in and how long your planning to stay. The woman clearly pretends to know very little English, but I feel this is untrue. I asked about health insurance and she did not answer my question. The fake laugh to deflect the question didn't help matters either.
