Came here with my friend this Friday to catch up. Service from our waitress, Nicola, was outstanding and the food absolutely delicious! They were sold out of pot pie (also spectacular), so I ordered the special: Fish 'n Chips. My fish was piping hot and super crunchy. The house-made tartar sauce adds a nice creamy tang. The fries were hot and crispy as well. $4 draft beers all day were a bonus! We split the crème brûlée cheesecake which was rich and delicious. There was a nice contrast between the creaminess of the cheesecake with the crunchiness of the brittle sugar on top. Their desserts are top notch! This place is such a gem. I love supporting their family business which they obviously work very hard at making successful. This spot has become "our place" when my best friend comes to visit! read more

My daughter and I stopped by for lunch today. It's the first time we've eaten there, and I'm so glad we decided to try it. 1. Food: nice variety of items on the menu, tasty, good portions. We had Bruschetta for an appetizer, which was very good. I had one of their salads with chicken, and my daughter had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp. The food was delicious, and fresh-tasting. 2. Service: Prompt and friendly! Our server was Bella. Delightful!!! Please do not miss out on this gem of a cafe!! Food was sumptuous, served with a sense of urgency and speed but not rushed!! The chicken pot pie was better than Grannies! Pesto chicken sandwich and bruschetta appetiser were flavourful with substantial portions. The Redneck Benny is a slice of home cooking without the work. Service was quick and friendly! I really like this place. I stopped on impulse and enjoyed and meal of grill redfish with assorted yummies over the top with a gravy to make it perfect! Sides of sautéed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes. A piece of apple pie with coffee topped off this lovely meal. I did have half the meal to take home. My server was Alex/ bartender. Just "ok" in terms of only one experience of having breakfast here. The service is incredible, and we would return with intent on trying their cappuccinos, white chocolate raspberry scones, and beignets. However, the savory flavor is lacking with the breakfast basics. I saw this in another review, and my husband and I certainly agree. Even the hash browns are bland. We * respect * people who do their work with EXCELLENCE. Eden Cafe was a fairly random choice for us this evening. We were driving home from our son's wedding when my wife asked to have dinner someplace where we wouldn't usually dine since we were in the area. Of course, the food was outstanding -- everything seemed to be on the menu because there was something special about it. The atmosphere was refreshing -- cozy layout, relaxing music, not too loud -- we could hear one another and enjoy our conversation. Our waitress, Alex, was cheery and attentive. What's more, she was "normal" ~ that's a genuine compliment these days. Not the nose-ringed, purple hair type -- simply a pleasant young lady who seemed to actually enjoy her work and their guests. She must have mentioned to the owner, Ulises, that it was our first visit because he showed up and introduced himself and engaged us in thoughtful conversation. Finally, to my embarrassment, I tipped over my water glass. A watchful lady busing tables was at our feet in a moment fixing the mess I made. Her simple action made an already great experience * unforgettable * ! Yes, the dinner was good, but I'd say there was more. I really enjoy the owner and the staff here. They are always kind. I also enjoy the story behind the restaurant and you can tell that they really care about the place and I hope they do well and can keep growing. I am also Cuban like the owner, so when I saw some Cuban items on the menu, I was very happy. It's not very common to find a Cuban eatery, so I'm always grateful when I can find one. We absolutely love Eden cafe! We love their menu, their specials, wine lists, and servers. While they have a huge menu I always get their chicken salad. Either on bread or I ask for it over a salad. They are always more than willing to make substitutions. Their burgers are great, calamari is excellent, spinach dip is always a crowd favorite, and my husband always orders the Cajun pasta. This is a must try when in the Woodlands, Conroe, Magnolia area. It's even worth the drive from Houston. It's that great. From the service to the food this place is 2nd to none. Today was our first time back since the covid-19 shutdown. It was clean, there was social distancing and the staff wore masks. Today I had the sirloin salad which came with a homemade ranch and pesto sauce. It was easily one of the best salads I have ever had in my life. Did not regret passing on my favorite Cuban sandwich! It's Lunch time !!! My friend gave me great reviews about this place and since my car was stuck over at NTD. We thought we would give it a try and find out for ourselves. Ordered : crab salad. ... I'm sorry I didn't add any pics. And ... chicken fried steak + brown gravy / on the side. Comes w/ two sides - I ordered jalapeño corn and thick potatoes. Ok ... for the review. Crab salad. My wife loved it and would order it again. Plenty of toppings and enough to fill up the average eater. Chicken fried steak. Honestly, I thought it was a bit dry. But with any chicken fried steak the timing in the fryer is everything. But here's the key point here. The waitress , who by the way was excellent, I mentioned to her, after she asked, that I just thought the chicken fried steak was just ok. Well, she told the owner ... who personally came out and apologized. And he offered to take it off the bill. I said no, but he insisted. Seriously, I get it, not all meals are going to be perfect. Here's the key point, He's really trying to make sure everyone leaves happy. And his dedication and attention to his restaurant is impressive. How often do you come across that anymore. That alone requires me to come back and try this place again. And I will. Honorable mention : The fish and chips are hand battered and made with cod. Although I didn't get this, it looked good from afar. Plus, every salad, for you weird grass and leafy eating patrons out there, looked really good. I would put them up against any of the other great salad places in The Woodlands. Not enough to make me switch to being a leaf eating vegetarian. But they sure looked good and colorful. Sorry. That I didn't post any pics. But, my wife and I were having a spirited discussion of the pros and cons of a larger laundry room vs expanding the media room and I just plain forgot. Second visit here. The food is good. The staff is friendly and prompt. The reason for 4 stars instead of five is the decor. The place needs an update. The maroon plastic table cloths do not do the place justice. The table we were sitting at had only half the table covered. The other half of the table had no cover. Just a little attention to the decor would make it a first class place!! read more

I was introduced to this little space by my mother who had been here once before. I had the Cuban sandwich and it was extremely good, the steak fries which were battered were extremely crispy and that makes me smile. They make their own ranch which is a requirement for five stars from me and I can say that I will be back. read more

Fantastic all the way around. The cafe is well decorated, classy, clean, and welcoming. Alex was our server and he was wonderful, personable and attentive. Our drinks were always full and he knew when to check on us and when to let us be. Food was delicious! We let the wait know that this was our first visit and how happy we were with the restaurant. The owner later came out with the check thanking us personally. We will absolutely be coming back and can't wait to try more food (and the new full service bar). They were also very careful to abide by any COVID guidelines and we felt safe and confident eating there. read more

There is definitely a cult following here! And that's a good thing because your taste is your taste. However, I like food that is prepared from scratch and so far everything here I've had seems to be like something I could get out of the freezer section at HEB. I've had shrimp and chicken here that is definitely from the freezer. Not my cup of tea for dinner and lunch. Breakfast on the other hand is very good! Hands Down, One of the Best establishments in the area! Tonight, I'm having the Cajun Pasta. When I'm thinking spicy & hearty, at Eden, this is it for me. I like to add crushed red pepper for that extra kick. My meal arrived promptly and was delicious all the way to the last bite. I ate it all. Sorry, I forgot to take the picture before. Service, was excellent as always. Tonight however, I had the distinct pleasure of service by Alma. A charming lady who's bubbly personality made my visit all the more special. I have a lot of check ins here. I've had this same meal many times. Tonight it was the best I've had. It just hit the spot; if you know what I mean. Could be that I really stumped my toe with the crushed red pepper. For me, turns out, it only made the meal that more amazing. I dined alone tonight, an hour before they closed. First timer...Walked in this morning and asked the hostess if they served lunch all day and she said YES! Ok, so we sit down, wait for the waitress, it was a Saturday morning, so they were kinda busy and I expected a wait. She takes our drink orders after about 10 minutes waiting. We scanned our phones on the barcode that's on the table to check out the menu. No menus because of COVID. Husband decided on the Country Fried Chicken and I'm watching my figure, so I wanted the Grilled Catfish. The waitress tells us they don't start serving lunch until 11. Ok, so at first we decided we'd just pay for our mimosas and leave. But the husband and I got into deep convos and time passed us by and the waitress reminded us that they'd start serving lunch in a few minutes. So, we decided to go ahead and order lunch since we were still sitting there. We ordered what we initially wanted. I can't stand BLAND food. Salt and pepper isn't seasoning to me. This reminds me of a Luby's Cafeteria with their bland food. My husband ordered the Garlic Mashed Potatoes, I didn't taste Garlic anywhere near those potatoes! And Garlic is a strong herb! My Plantains were good. Spinach was undercooked! Now, let me get to the good part about my fish. Wait until I post this pic!!! Now remember I said I wanted Grilled Catfish. I've never seen white grilled catfish in my life!!! I'm 40 years old and I've spent my entire adult life eating out and this was a FIRST for me. I think this was SWAI fish. Even then, they should've let me know they were subbing a different fish. It didn't have the texture of catfish. I didn't get it blackened because sometimes restaurants tend to overcook fish when it's blackened. Just check this picture out of "Grilled" Catfish with Plantains and Spinach. Visited with my daughter today @ 1pm for a quick breakfast/lunch - we like to try local, non chain places. It was moderately busy, which is always nice to see. Started with a cuban coffee. It was barely luke warm and I was surprised to see it already had a ton of sugar in it- dont recall ever having sugar in it on my many experiences w/ cuban coffee in FL/IL. Omelette was ok. BLT had cheese an onions? Unfortunately my take is any place that goes from beignets, to pasta, to migas, to pancakes, cannot possibly do it all Top Notch. Besides the food we didn't expect for 2 people it was going to take us over an hour and for me to run out of water and had nothing to drink with no waitress around for 10+ minutes. read more
