Lots of great stuff here. Cocktail, a NY Sour was spot on. Our server was perfect, did everything right. I forgot his name, but he was from Peru. Our steaks were perfectly cooked. Creamed spinach with a bit of salt and pepper was delicious. There are several well priced wines that were perfectly curated for the steaks. The big finish of the affogato was a fantastic finish. Why only three stars? There were two things that really turned off the meal. The plating of the dish with "a glazed carrot" (menu quote) and my fried potatoes. Two small pieces of carrot, not glazed and pretty raw paired with less than half of a potato wasn't great. Made the meal feel cheap in the plating. $29 for the dish was a bit much even for a steakhouse. Two carrots and more than 1 ounce of potato are an inexpensive addition and would have made the plate actually worth the hefty price tag. read more

Delicious food! Pleasant atmosphere! Classy establishment that we enjoy for birthday celebrations. This visit, we were eating early and the staff was a bit bored...they enjoyed conversing a little too loudly! It would have been nice to sit further away from the workers hangout. Luckily, more diners came in and the workers got busy. Next time we will be conscious of the crowd on the dining room and ask to sit further from the door/bar. There will be a next time! Finally tried this place since it changed. The restaurant is nice and cozy. Started with a Ceasar Salad. Very good mixture of dressing and cheese and croutons. They had some bread and butter it was good quality bread and butter The entrees were delicious I had Truffle Fettuccine with chicken wife had Salmon. The serving was plenty I left full. The service was excellent and Manger came by serving times to check on us also. We definitely will be coming back there are several dishes I want to try. We went on a weeknight in the middle of February. It was...pretty good...? Not bad...? I know, not helpful, but we're struggling with why we didn't like it better. The ambiance is okay, better than before but still like a fish out of water, a country vibe pushing for fine dining. My steak was good to very good, as was her pasta - solid if not great ingredients, well prepared, but a little heavy-handed with sauces. My bisque was super heavy cream, so couldn't eat more than half. Service was good, not super professional but timing was good and they were pleasant. Talked to the new owner/manager at the door. He seemed out of place, a little overwhelmed. Good food but not fine dining, and too expensive by 20-30%. For the acid test, we've never once talked about going back. read more

Dulcino's is in the same location where Rex's used to be. My husband and I are here now, they just opened this week. I had a rosemary lemon drop and he had a glass of silver Palm cab. For appetizer we had the Burrata with arugula and prosciutto, for soup we had the Pasta e Fagoli, and for entrees I had the fillet with mashed and he had truffle pasta with grilled chicken. The martini was watered down. The lobster in the lobster pasta was way overcooked, the pasta serving was small, and the dish was under seasoned and lacked flavor. The food was horrific. My wife's order was wrong and blamed on the chef. My meal was burnt and there was little evidence of veal.

We are staying in Conroe for an event and decided to try this place. Guess it's new, only been open for about a month. The service was great, food was overall good! We got the shrimp pasta with a little cream sauce but everything else was not modified. It was great that they accommodated our request for that. This place is GREAT. The ambiance is great for a date night, girls dinner, celebratory events etc. They have a small room with a faux fireplace that has a large top table. The spicy shrimp pasta was the best item on the table. The saltimboca and picatta were just ok. Both had an unexpected cream sauce on them. Pappardelle with sausage was very bland. Wine pours were good but unfortunately the wine was Warm. We had grandmothers tart which was good and similar to a lemon bar. Penne al a Vodka - if you like traditional NY style vodka sauce you will be disappointed but it was good. More of a cream sauce. We had a filet, perfectly cooked with a nice char crust and perfectly seasoned. We also had the shrimp fra diavolo. We had asked for spicy. Flavor was excellent, not very spicy but delicious. Highly recommend this place. Priced higher than most places in the area but worth the trip. Hint - the server we had needed a lot more training. The filet mignon was very good and cooked as requested, however the veal saltimbocca was thicker sliced than expected. Service was very good. We loved this place. The ambience, lighting & music were perfect. The booth we chose was comfy & cosy & our waiter Sedat turned out to be a real treasure. I ordered the Lobster ravioli that came w/ 3 large shrimp, tons of sliced mushrooms & a fabulous cream sauce-so delicious. Hubby chose the four cheese ravioli in a creamy sauce which he loved. But I thought his meal looked very basic, compared to mine, lacking on garnishes such as parsley/sliced mushrooms, chopped toms etc which would have enhanced the look of the dish for sure. Hubby had room for the delicious dulche de leche cheesecake & Sedat wisely brought a 2nd fork so I could help Hubby out!! Sam, the owner, dropped by to introduce himself. We frequented this little restaurant that was taken over by Dulcino's. Disappointed to say the least. Menu is small and limited, food was ok. Lobster Bisque was overly salted and the Fruiti d'mar portion for the price was laughable. There was an ok amount of seafood (shrimp, mussels and clams) but barely any pasta. Honestly if I was lucky maybe 3/4 of a cup cooked pasta and it was $32.00. I did mention it to the waitress all we got was an "oh". No attempt to add more or even ask if I wanted more. No discount or even desert offered although she did bring another bread basket....That will be our last visit there, I walked out after spending $44.00 just for my meal.....still hungry. They had a great appetizer and the beer temp was absolutely perfect. The steaks...meh. One and done.

I will start with the positives. The rack of lamb was amazing and the wine selection was great. At the end of the meal, it was 5 star restaurant prices for 3 star restaurant service. For example, the waiter could not answer the question, "What are the potatoes seasoned with?" My wife and I both were served a glazed carrot. Hers was cooked perfectly and mine was undercooked and crunchy. We were asked "does everything look alright" when we first received our meals, but there seemed to be no genuine concern about whether or not we were enjoying our meal. As far as the ambiance goes, rock and blues was not the right music for the atmosphere, and I got way more rustic Texas vibes than I did Italian. Not bad, but...not quite right either. Anyway it is a new restaurant, and I am sure they will improve, but as of now the overall experience did not live up to the price that they are charging. read more
