I can't say enough good things about Life Time in La Jolla! From the moment I joined, the experience has been top tier. Antonio especially stands out. He has the most joyful, sincere personality and it's obvious he truly cares about the members. Every time I see him, his energy instantly makes the day better. It's rare to find that kind of genuine positivity. This location truly feels like a second home. It's ALWAYS incredibly clean, they have every piece of equipment you could possibly need, and there are so many classes to choose from. The smoothies at the café are my favorite. I've said this before, Life Time really feels like more than just a gym to me. I also visit the Life Time Irvine location and love how big it is, the jacuzzi and beach club atmosphere there are amazing. But there's just something special about the La Jolla location. 1) Monthly Rate is just too high for a much smaller gym than any Lifetime in any other state. No Basketball, No Pool, No Tennis, No Pickleball, No RockWall, No Jacuzzi, No Cold Plunge = No thanks. 2) Joined this club as a Founding Member, moved out of state and kept a Lifetime membership the whole time... became a Founding Member at another Lifetime in Arizona...but due to move and changes made to account, my previous monthly rate is no longer applicable. I love Lifetime fitness ! don't get me wrong, BUT don't drink the water!!! It looks like it comes from a filtration system, but it doesn't. Yes I tested it. I have a great filtration system at my house so I know. my tester reads 25 ( very drinkable) and their tester is over 300 ( yuck ) Thats San Diego unfiltered water .. I have spoken to many employees already / it seems like they are unable to help .. For 300+ a month they should be ashamed of themselves. they even have water fountains with a filtration co name on the sink which is misrepresenting like it's filtered . I tested it. It's not !! Its is not filtered in the bathroom. It's not filtered in the main gym ; and it is not filtered in the restaurant. I don't know about you, but I don't want a smoothie made with sink water and I don't want to work up a sweat and drink sink water thats unfiltered I hope they Fix or charge us less each month! Also don't be dishonest and have your water in a place where it looks like it's filtered. I would think you could get in trouble for doing that. At the very lease I hope this review wakes up management and someday soon we can bring our water bottles from home to fill up with filtered water .. read more

I wouldn't normally hire a trainer, as I have a decent understanding of what to do, but Jason's knowledge of your movement patterns, weaknesses and what you need to do to improve them is first class. I've been a member of LifeTime gym in La Jolla for over 5 yrs. It's a solid, clean gym with GREAT staff, especially the front desk! Instructors: A+ Pilates: Great instructors & new reformers. Gym equipment: Varied, but few leg press machines. Spinning Classes: The spinning classes were recently downgraded. We used to have a dedicated room and were able to book a bike by number. I really wanted Lifetime to be my "forever gym" but realistically it can't be. Here is my experience after being a member for 18 months, and why I finally canceled my membership PROS -- Equipment is new, a few racks - that's what really caught my eyes vs regular machine. -- Free parking, we all know it's a pain to find parking in La Jolla so being able to park in the same building for free was clutch for me -- Super clean. I could do anything off the floor, and it was spotless. -- I could add that the Sauna+locker rooms were nice, but it's not really a huge PRO for me, I didn't use them much. CONS -- Price. Boy it's expensive. For my wife and I, we were paying $420 a month. I wanted to work out with my brother that was in town, after the 1 free session, it was $60 for a day pass!! -- Busy (because it's fairly small)! At first they told us they were limiting the amount of memberships they sell, and it was also a reason why they increased the monthly price by 10% since we joined. Though the equipment is great, they only have 1 leg press machine. 1 smith machine, etc. Ultimately, it's 8 times more expensive than any other gym, and it's not 8 times better. Compared to most other Lifetime in the country, there isnt any court, or pool, etc. Just regular gym equipment, regular classes, etc. Unless you value the parking at $300 a month, it's an over priced gym. read more

Life Time is great! I come here 1-2 times a day and I absolutely love it. I love the pool, the machines, the squash courts, hot tub, treadmills, massage chairs, etc. I'll never go to any other gym. They also offer an array of classes, and up to 150+ a day. They have a spa, PT, a chiropractor, etc. available on site as well. I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Wish I could give this place NEGATIVE stars!!! Had the most HORRENDOUS and TRAUMATIZING experience at the Life Time Spa in La Jolla. I had been a member for over a yr and would consistently come to get my nails done there even tho it's absurdly expensive. I always tip well and never complained even when I got a horrible hair cut and massage there. The last time I went, I booked a mani and pedi for the same time. only the manicure artist was there, Jada, the only person who was nice to me during this situation. I waited for 30min for the pedicure girl to come and when she did and I asked about the appointment time she lied about how long she was behind and refused to do my nails. I wasn't expecting my question to be met with such a harsh attack from the asian nail lady. The gay "manager" then came in and immediately started YELLING at me. I started shaking and crying. He said I was lying about how long I was waiting. Meanwhile, i booked a haircut with him when i first got my membership and because i was 10min late he canceled on me and charged me still. And when i brought up that double standard he yelled more. I then tried to talk to the higher up manager and she LAUGHED at me. i was legitimately TRAMA!ZED. by how horribly I was being treated and GASLIT. the people who work there are BULLIES. also one time l took the free hr with the personal trainer that comes with the membership and he stopped working with me after 20 mins for no reason. the people here are so unprofessional. I've been to other life time gyms and this location is bottom of the barrel! It's small, no pool, you pay extra for classes (Pilates) and it has the highest rate of any other life time gyms. I would compare this gym to a slightly cleaner 24 hour fitness. There's also no discount for military members they just wave the joining fee. I had my "free assessment" by one of the professional trainers employed by the facility. I left feeling with feeling quite confused. This pompous young man informed me that I am obese. For reference, I am 5'3" and weigh 130 lbs and wear a size 6. I continued to listen to his very high pressure sales pitch, he let me know that in order to improve myself I would need his services 3 times per week. This Life Time location is everything you would expect and more for a higher-end gym. A few bonuses include a spa, salon, and cafe that you wouldn't expect for a gym location; an all-in-one. A bonus is you get free parking with your membership ( a huge deal for this cute neighborhood). I would just note this is more of a higher end gym, so the price point will be higher. They think highly of their little tiny gym, our LifeTime in Cary NC has a rock climbing wall, indoor and outdoor pools with water slides, this tiny strip mall gym is so small it pales in comparison. We have been members of LifeTime fitness since 2017 and have never experienced the rude, self righteous attitude that this LifeTime location has. Ended up going to a gym we are not members at and received stellar service and got in for FREE. LifeTime is so different than these jokes of people claiming to be "from corporate" We spend a ton of money with the LifeTime Gym membership, two separate personal training contracts, plus money spent daily on food/protein drinks. I just got off the phone with the actual LT corporate and she (Melissa, corporate concierge) and she confirmed that the email I referenced did indeed exist and I will be getting with the owner, Bahram as she said he loves to hear from members. The workout classes are great with friendly and helpful instructors, everything is CLEAN, and the gym has tons of weights and cardio options. If you want the best gym experience, this is the place to go. The overall feel of this gym is amazing. All the trainers actually train and all of the staff here are super friendly and approachable. The equipment is of course all brand new and very well maintained, you'll never be upset or discouraged to workout here. They offer a variety of classes like barre, Pilates, yoga, and strength and conditioning. I have multiple gym memberships and this is by far my favorite place to be. It never gets too crowded that you will have to wait for equipment to complete your sets. They have a ton of cardio machines all equipped with the latest technology. While the gym itself is great and has good amenities, the staff treats you as a dollar sign not a human or customer. Had a horrible experience here. My wife and I were under the same membership, she recently left the membership as she got a free one through work. Lifetime notified me that my membership would increase from $190/month (what I have been paying for 2 years) to $265/month just because my wife left even though I had planned on staying. Everyone knows a businesses first line of defense is the concierge - The Gate keeper or Receptionist, it is their presence who can either make or break the experience of a potential or current member And I would say Lifetime Fitness has found their 5 Star representative. The club although not as large or as elaborate The Laguna Niguel location - WAS EVEN MORE WELCOMING AND PREFERRED because of the welcoming ambiance and demeanor of Shiannes presence. So I'm from Las Vegas, NV and I'm in San Diego for a little on a vacation. I was so happy to find a lifetime gym because I felt like i was missing part of my day lol. I got there the young lady at the front desk was so friendly and helpful. All lifetime members get three free passes and then you'll have to pay for a day pass which is only 30 dollars. It was clean, well kept and very organized!! Very impressed with the whole experience. The only thing is that this location does close unlike in Las Vegas so keep in eye for hours of operations. The gym is disgusting today. We pay $300 per month, and there are dirty towels throughout the gym on the ground, dirty machines, weights on machines not re-racked, and gym bags on the floor. Bottom Line Up Front: This club is fantastic. Top of the line equipment, best sauna & steam room in San Diego, clean facility, friendly and helpful staff. As long as you show up and take advantage of the amenities and classes, it's worth the cost. Finally, La Jolla is home to a fitness club that has world class amenities, a wide selection of classes under one roof, and plenty of room for equipment. I actually look forward to going to the gym and on occasion, find myself there twice a day. It's shocking it took this long. When you walk into the sprawling and sparkling clean club, you are greeted (by name) by friendly staff. Rows of Technogym machines call your name; and endless pieces of new / interesting / advanced equipment can be found all over (ropes, sled, tire flips, etc.) Apparently the club is smaller than typical LifeTime facilities and is missing some cool amenities (pool, tennis courts, bar, childcare) but by Village standards the space seems huge and the design never lets you feel cramped. The café in front has excellent coffee by Peet's and a surprisingly wide selection of food options, shakes and juices, everything priced reasonably. The locker rooms are luxurious, spacious, and the steam room and sauna is PERFECT. All the extras you would expect are available (shaving, mouthwash, lotion, quality soaps, etc.) Upstairs is home to a spa that I am yet to try, I'll update when I do. They offer haircuts, massages, skincare products, etc. As I mentioned at the top, this place is fantastic, but a few things that I hope improve and some general suggestions: -Wife order an acai bowl that had good flavor but the acai was still frozen; as if it was just dropped in from a frozen packet. Blend these bowls up and they will be so much better! -Any chance we can collab with the La Jolla Tennis Club right around the corner? Maybe membership discounts at least. San Diego is a HUGE tennis town and it's a shame LifeTime can't be a one-stop-shop for all your fitness/lifestyle activities. -Shame there is no pool, jacuzzi, and/or bar. On the roof or elsewhere? Space is limited, so... this one may be tough. -Where are the social events? What this location lacks in pools and courts should be made up in exciting and fun events. -More guided Yoga over flow -TV in the cafe area should be doubled in size and a few more seats dedicated to view sports Stay healthy, stay active, see you at the club! read more

This gym is toxic AF. Too crowded, they have no room for those extreme workout classes so they combine them downstairs where others just want to work out and use the machines. You will feel like youre at the frat party but its at 6am. They yell Alpha! And theres alpha signs throughout the gym. I gave it two stars because sauna is the only thing good about this place.
