I love this workout studio! Great instructors, lots of themed classes which I really enjoy. I took a class with the instructor Maya M and she was absolutely fantastic! Wonderful energy in the room, very supportive environment. The room is dark with neon lights sometimes going off and the music is loud, feels like a nightclub meets a workout class and it makes time go by super quickly. The women at the front desk are also so helpful and getting you set up for class if you have any questions/need help adjusting the bikes. Shoe rentals are 4 dollars but you're also more than welcome to bring your own, and they have a nice water station. Locker area is a bit small but people move pretty quickly

Personalized welcome sign on my locker. Each rider gets one!

I can finally say I tried SoulCycle and loved it. Your first ride is $20. I recommend downloading the SoulCycle app to your phone before trying it out. On the app, you will find a schedule and be able to choose a class. I was lucky enough to do a birthday ride with Hannah. This class featured music by Odesza, Fred again and skrillex. Phones aren't allowed inside during the class. I love this because you can solely focus on working out and the energy around you. The music was bumpin. The crowd had great energy and so did our instructor. I recommend trying it out if you're thinking about it! Pros: super fun, high intensity workout, great/friendly community. Cons: expensive, this specific location can be hard to find, give yourself plenty of time before class to find your way and prepare, no metrics (personally, I like to see how much resistance is added on and removed) - SoulCycle doesn't have any metrics to follow - they do it by feeling. I am a peloton girly, but would still love to do another SoulCycle ride or two in the future. They offer a variety of classes and instructors to choose from :)

I've been wanting to try out a SoulCycle class ever since I saw that 2018 movie "I Feel Pretty" with Amy Schumer haha. I've heard a lot about SoulCycle from my friends and everyone who has gone has told me positive things about it. I finally had the chance to join one of their classes. Each class is $28 which is pretty pricey. My gym membership is $19.99 for an entire month in comparison lol. SoulCycle requires you to wear cycling shoes, they have some available for rent for $3, your first time is free! Lockers are included with the class fee. I did the Hip Hop Monday class with Janelle. I was really nervous my first time since I didn't know what to expect. The staff was really nice and helped me adjust my bike before class. The room is dark and super loud. The front row had students who were more experienced. I'd suggest reserving a bike in the back if you're new. Janelle was super awesome! She had such great energy and a positive attitude! I need to be around more people like her! In addition to great music, the instructor also gives out encouraging words haha. The class was definitely challenging! I definitely do not sweat much when I exercise haha but let me tell you, I was sweating like crazy within the first 10 min of the class! I did not expect that haha. Overall, I had a great experience at SoulCycle! I probably won't be going regularly but it's definitely something I would go to with a friend on occasion.

The best first time experience ever !!

My daughter begged me to take her here for months before I finally agreed . It was hard for me to agree to a 45 minute class that cost over $30 per class . I can honestly say I'm happy we came here . It's a great bonding experience for my 14 year old daughter and I . We love the classes . The facility is gorgeous, very clean and the staff go above and beyond to make your experience great . I am very impressed with how sweet everyone here is . They would get a 5 star if the price wasn't so high . It's just unrealistic to repeatedly come here for so much money per class . Especially when I'm paying for 2 .

Ask the Community - SoulCycle La Jolla

Does this location have showers and if so how many?

Are you open? I'm seeing recent reviews but it seems like I can't schedule anything online

They are not currently open, they should be reopening sometime this summer.

Are there showers?

Yes! They have showers with shampoo, shower gel, body wash, face wash, deodorant, razors, and body lotions. They also have fresh towels and all 4 showers are single occupancy for privacy.

The check-in process was super easy and the people that worked there made sure to get my mother and I accommodated on our bikes. Even though this wasn't my first time cycling, they still helped me out. What I really love about this place is that the instructor came to us before the class started to get to know our names and who we were. And while the class was going on, she would yell out words of encouragement directed to each individual. This really made the experience more personalized since instead of telling "come on everyone you can do this", it was "come on Sarah, you got this, keep pushing". This really motivated me more to push myself during the class. Additionally, I like how its first come first serve in terms of picking your bike here. No need to worry about reserving a specific bike when you can pick whatever bike that you want. I also like how this is in the beginning of PB so you don't have to drive all the way down Garnet just to get to the class, it's pretty much right off the 5. They also have their own parking lot which means no struggling for parking, yay!

The atmosphere is motivating, and I can see why people enjoy taking classes here. That said, I did want to share one part of my experience that put a damper on the class for me. I briefly checked my phone to send something quick to my sister (which, in hindsight, I probably should have stepped out to do), but I genuinely didn't think it would be an issue since I've never seen a posted rule or signage stating that the studio is phone-free. I was caught off guard when I was called out by name during class in a way that felt more aggressive than necessary. If phone use is discouraged, I completely respect that -- but I think it would be more helpful to clearly communicate expectations beforehand or have signage posted. Especially if this has been an ongoing concern in classes, clarity would help avoid uncomfortable situations for everyone. I've also noticed comments from others in the studio about phone use before, which makes me think this may be a recurring issue from other riders as well. I just wish the approach had been kinder or more private, as being publicly called out took me out of the moment. While I may try a different instructor in the future, I still enjoyed the workout itself, loved the music, and appreciate the overall studio experience.

The instructors bring so much energy, the playlists are always on point, and the vibe makes you forget you're even sweating. Every class leaves me feeling energized, accomplished, and genuinely happy--not drained. Whether you're new to cycling or a regular rider, the atmosphere is welcoming and motivating, and you can truly ride at your own pace while still feeling part of the room. If you want a workout that's effective, uplifting, and actually something you look forward to, SPARKCYCLE is it. Can't recommend it enough ‍
