This is a cool spot. We visited a few months back. The escape room we tried was very cool. It was a very tricky room but it was fun. The game host wasn't as helpful as I'm used to and didn't communicate some of the game pieces that we missed at the end but he helped us with hints when needed. Had a great family experience completing the Time Machine room. The puzzles were challenging but we did use many hints that helped us. I've only done one other escape room prior to this, and this experience was by far more elaborate and detailed. We definitely used a lot of hints, but it was worth it since we were able to complete the room. The owner Dave clearly loves what he does and was very enthusiastic about the process. This escape room is in the same place at Dungeon of Doom haunted house which is one of the best haunted houses I've been to. The facility was clean and well-kept. Far and away the best escape room I have ever visited. In fact nothing I have done even comes close. This is an escape room that is also a haunted house during Halloween season. In fact it is a nationally awarded haunted house. I have not been there for that but I will try it next year. But what is cool is that the artists, sculptors, and decorators who create the haunted house, also create the escape rooms. There are no flimsy props or wasted spaces. The rooms are laid out like you were actually in the location. The attention to detail is vastly beyond any other room I have visited. Even the lobby is awesome. The puzzles were difficult. Nothing was really obvious and you WILL need a hint (or 10) to get out. But nothing is ridiculous. You don't have to climb over a cabinet or speak a different language to succeed. It is there, you just have to figure it out. We were a group of 4 and we actually got into the second "phase," of the challenge. The owner said we did better than 95% of people but we had to ask for several hints and we would have needed another 10+ minutes to get out. When you are there, ask the owner about the success rate of the room...it is daunting. Speaking of the owners, they could not have been nicer. They spoke with us for quite awhile after we didn't escape. One of the owners even came into the room and showed us how a lot of the sculptures were made. Again, the sculpting and detail is extremely impressive. We are definitely going to visit their other rooms and we are following them on Facebook so we know when they set up new escapes. Before you read my long review, if you're wondering how the games play: They are very linear (i.e., solve step 1 to get to step 2, etc.). The puzzles are also not "puzzles," multiple "clues" were solved by guessing the right sequential order - with no other clues. There is no logic/fun in that. If you prefer escape room experiences that rely on critical thinking, and give you a sense of accomplishment, do not go to this place. And the rest of my review: We had the misfortune of our group being paired with a group that consisted of parents, grandmother, and child, the latter which had done this exact escape room with a group of people earlier in the week. She announced this in front of the games master, who should have either 1) pulled the girl's parents aside and asked them to not let their daughter give away all the clue or 2) given us a refund and had us leave. That did not happen.I know that in previous escape rooms we had done, there were stringent rules about not allowing a person to play the same room twice, so as not to ruin the experience for others; I believe this place should adopt that practice. As soon as we got into the room, she started saying "first we do this and then we do that," as she completed answers to clue that we hadn't even found yet. At that point I turned to one of my group mates, saying that we should just leave now, as this girls family was not holding her back in the slightest. It was reasoned with me by my friend that escape rooms often have multiple things going on at once, so we should be able to find something we can do on our own. However, that was not the case. The game was extremely linear, i.e, solve step 1 to get to step 2 and so forth. In escape rooms I've played before, when comparing to others who have done the same room but separately, we always talk about how differently we came to the end conclusion, based on the order of the clues that were found/solved. So, we had a terrible, expensive experience. The games master apparently realized that we were having a horrible time, and called the owner. The owner called us while driving on our way back home, offering us free play in the future. My group had discussed before he called, and we would prefer our money back, as we do not want to play their linear-style games (and also from the profoundly bad experience). I asked for a refund, and the owner refused. The owner then pointed out twice to me condescendingly on the phone that he was the one being nice and calling me, something he didn't have to do. I asked him to instead email me about the issue, as we were driving home in the dark from an area we are not from. The owner emailed me, saying that he couldn't give me a refund, as we completed the room. Apparently, we should have interrupted and left, or maybe told the parents to reign in their child, both which would be very uncomfortable. Partially why we also refused a re-do was because the room's puzzles were not really puzzles to solve. For example, multiple situations in the room were to "guess the right order." There is no logic in that. You're supposed to get to the answer by figuring out a puzzle. Guessing is certainly appropriate for when you're stuck, but the fact that multiple puzzles were "just keep guessing until you get the order right," was disappointing as well. The owner never sent a response to my email. The games master was enthusiastic, and the room itself looked cool, but if the content is not there, it is not an experience worth paying for. read more

Edge of Escape is the best escape room I have done! The attention to detail in the rooms is reminiscent of a Hollywood movie set, I was blown away. The complexity and thought that went into the story and problems you had to solve was nothing short of incredible. We had a lot of fun and will definitely be back! I've been to a few escape rooms mostly in the Mid west and Canada. This place is beyond amazing and the experience was much more that one can expect. I had the Groupon for 4 and we were all amazed at how well designed the game was. This place is located outside the city but well worth the drive if you want something that stands out. The owner was great and offered us a sneak peak into the haunted house he was working on. This looked amazing as well and I will definitely be visiting. read more

We decided to have my son's ninth birthday party at the The Edge of Escape. The staff was fantastic. They really catered to our group, and they made the birthday party a phenomenal success. We are big fans of the Dungeon of Doom Haunted House, so we knew we were in for a great experience. Both were designed and created by the same staff. Love both places!!! Best Escape Room Ever! We've done 2 others in Florida with groups of 8 and 4 and this one was by more the most detailed and interactive one we've ever done. I don't want to spoil it for you but just know that the Time Travel one is a phenomenally engaging experience. We did a group of 8 with Ages 7,10,13,15,36,37,46,47. All of us had a ton of fun. We can't wait until they open up new escape rooms! This will ruin you for all other escape rooms for other places because it's like your truly transported to another time, feels like Universal Hart Potter Hogwarts expert level of decor and immersion. I've never seen anything like it. Puzzles were challenging but you can ask for hints with no time penalty which I really appreciated, takes the stress away. read more
