Started off as a good experience, then the wheels fell off. After my exam, Edgewater gave me a list of procedures I needed and corresponding charges. I later compared this to my Cigna Dental HMO Charge Schedule and found that Edgewater's charges for many of the procedures that were more than double the charges listed in the Charge Schedule. The difference added up to thousands of dollars. I questioned them and was told that their charges were for upgraded materials and onsite crown production, which has a 5 year warranty. When pressed, they said that they would do the work at the rates listed in the Cigna Patient Change Schedule, but that it NOT would have any warranty whatsoever. At no point did anyone let me know that there were different options (and different price points) for each procedure. At best, this was a serious mistake on their part. At worst, they are intentionally and systematically over-charging their patients. Either way, I'm now looking for a new dentist. read more

This group is extremely friendly and professional but not so gentle and perhaps not as attentive to detail. They recently put a crown on for me and did a tremendous job at that but I got home and once the numbness wore off, I realized I had a long gash along my tongue. I'm pretty sure that wasn't part of the procedure and tells me they aren't especially careful. My kids have gone here as well but all have expressed that there wasn't much care in cleaning. This place should be in a sting operation for scamming you into paying more! I went there with a loose filling and a lot of pain and after over 2.5 hrs of x ray photos and gouging under my gums they told me I needed a root canal. This is clearly false as now months later after this experience my tooth is fine just removed the filling and fixed! Quoted me an enormous quote thousands of dollars and told me they couldn't do the job for 13 days until they had their root canal person available. Fantastic dentist office! They are always incredibly friendly and accommodating, the office is very nice and they seem to have all the new and up-to-date equipment. Unfortunately I was up-sold to a procedure I probably didn't need. Cost me a fortune, plus now, they couldn't get my jaw aligned right. It's been over 6 months and I now suffer from TMJ (which didn't exist before the cap was put on). Even though office I'd nice and they got all the high tech equipment, I regret ever stepping foot in that office and so does my clicking jaw. I guess that's how they afford all the cool stuff by scamming me (and they billed my insurance company for things they didn't do) when I called them on paying procedures not performed they said "oh, that's not a bill it just shows what we bill insurance, but you won't have to pay for those extra claims?!?! Dania Turcios DDS is super caring, and makes you feel at ease. I am not a fan of going to the dentist, and I had waited long enough to get my crown done, but I'm glad I chose to come here. They made the process as comfortable as is possible. They also have a great payment program which saves you money and allows you to pay for expensive procedures over the course of a year (aka: a no interest credit card). I chose that option and it allowed me to afford to have my crown done and not break the bank. I have also only been in Denver for a short amount of time and not long after my arrival I started experiencing a major toothache. I came here for the first time on Halloween because I had some major gum pain. Every person there was friendly and extremely knowledgable. I feel like I had a lesson in dental hygiene, which was nice because in the past, other dentists have not spent much time educating me. I am fairly new to the Denver area and was in need of a dentist. I scheduled an appointment here and was very disappointed. I have always had good dental hygiene, kept up with my biannual cleanings, and have never had a cavity. The dentist here told me that I had 7 cavities and would need extensive periodontal work as well. The staff also refused to clean my teeth until I had completed their recommended treatments. I scheduled an appointment with my old dentist (out of state, I was going home for a visit) for a second opinion. It turns out my teeth and gums are perfectly healthy and I do not need any of the work Edgewater Modern Dentistry recommended. I would strongly advise against this office; it seems that the dentist either does not know what to look for or is trying to sell people services that they don't need. read more

I went in last month for a cleaning/check-up appointment and was told I needed a root canal. The dentist also informed me I had several smaller cavities which didn't really need to be tended to immediately. I wanted to get a second opinion for a procedure as expensive as a root canal. I made an appointment with another dentist who said I absolutely did not need a root canal, and said that he had several patients who had started at Edgewater Dentistry who were told to "hold off" on smaller cavities. While they claim to be saving you money, it seems they're actually attempting to make a bit more cash off of you in the long run by ignoring smaller problems that will grow more serious with time. More importantly, I DID NOT NEED A ROOT CANAL. If you choose to go to this dentist, don't get romanced by their cheaper rates. Get a second opinion! read more

Everyone was friendly and professional, including my dentist who was very personable and professional and did the majority of the work herself. Came in for a cleaning and ended up having a cavity in a place that I got a filling for. Everybody was very professional and helpful, and they have all updated technology for their equipment and imaging compared to when I saw dentists several years ago. The dentist did a great job and even did the cleaning himself, which is rare nowadays. I left, and later went back in because I thought my filling felt weird and they saw me right away to take a look. There weren't any issues with the filling at all, and he polished it off a little more. In the end, I was impressed with the service and would recommend this dentist to anyone! read more

I started coming here just about a year ago for routine care. I had neglected my teeth for quite some time and figured I would need something done. I went this office because they accepted my insurance plan and because I had some friends who were really happy with the work they have had. By the time I left my first visit I was confident I made the right decision. I spent time talking with my dentist (Dr. Jozsa) and I had a treatment plan ready to go for me, she told me what my options were and I was confident that no matter the solutions I went with they were going to help me get my mouth right again. So, I was pleased with the service that I got from them, however, I put the balance on a smile generation 18 month (or so they said) no interest card. What they failed to tell me was that they split it up into 2 charges, one being 12 months and the other 18 months. So for the last handful of months I've been getting dinged with finance charges, and since smile generation does not have monthly auto pay and I travel heavily for work, I ended up with a total of almost $600 worth of late fees and finance charges. When I called Smile Generation, they told me I should have read my contract better... I don't know about you, but I don't bring a lawyer with me to the dentist office to review my paperwork. So, The dentist here are nice, the finance department seems to be in cahoots with smile generation, and if you look up reviews on smile generation, you will see what I should have before agreeing to finance through them, they are the payday loans of the dentist world, and Edgewater modern dentistry proudly runs gleamingly positive ads for them while you are on hold, and while you are sitting in the chair trying to figure out how you are going to pay for thousands of dollars worth of dental work. So, be cautious, read everything twice, or even better, go somewhere else that cares more about their relationship with their clients than their relationship with the finance company. read more

I typically don't enjoy going to the dentist, shocker I know. I've only had 2 cavities in my life but generally dislike the dentist. However, my experience with Edgewater was completely different. From the time I entered I was taken care of very professionally. From the technician who cleaned my teeth to the actually dentist, I was very pleased. The technician explained to me why he was doing everything he was doing and gave tips for me to make my next dental experience easier. They were very kind and gentle throughout the entire process, even though I don't always take the best care of my teeth aside from brushing. I can't say enough on the attention to detail and care I received at this dentist. They worked with me and explained what I would be responsible for financially and what insurance would cover to ensure I wasn't getting work done that I would be responsible for and possibly wouldn't be able to afford. The icing on the cake is that the dentist (Dr. Jozsa, heard me discussing how I was getting married the following month. They offered a free teeth whitening for me before my wedding. I thought this was extremely kind and completely unnecessary for them to offer an hour long process for free. Ultimately, I will be attending this office with my family as long as we live in Denver. If there were minus stars to give that's what I would give Edgewater Modern Dentisry. From my very first appointment I experienced aggressive financial manipulation on the part of the office manager; while having a tooth ground for a crown the work was stopped so I could sign for the work being done before the dentist would finish. Then when the temporary crown came off exposing a raw nerve the dentist on call told me to purchase some glue and glue it back myself. My advise is to look elsewhere for your dental care needs; even though I've paid them thousands they cancelled my appointment because I still owed them 500.00. I have had my share of dental work over the course of my life but this is absolutely the worse I've ever experienced. read more

It was easy to make an appointment, the online health history form was convenient and simple to use, and there were absolutely no wait times! The office was very clean and modern. All fees were explained to me before any work was performed and the fees were very reasonable. The best part of my experience, however, were the staff members. My advice is to get a second opinion before getting any work done here outside of a cleaning. My first appointment was 4/2013 and was told I needed 2 crowns then came back for a second cleaning 11/2013 and was told I needed 3 crowns. I went for a second opinion on a referral and was so glad I did. I was told all my teeth were fine and I didn't even need a filling! We're talking about $1500.00 here and that's with insurance! I was very happy with the service I received here for a number of years but something happened about a year ago and it has caused me to go elsewhere. When I checked in for my regular cleaning the man working the front desk tried to charge me $30.00. I told him that my insurance covered this appointment and he replied, "Not the fluoride." I wasn't informed that this was extra just told that I needed to pay $30.00 for the appointment. This has left a very bad taste in my mouth (pun intended) and for this reason I have not returned. Just had a pretty substantial bit of dental work done here (first time patient) and they got me into see the dentist, scheduled for my repair and the procedure completed in less than a week. It was definitely pricey, but everyone was really nice and the guy who finished my procedure brought me a WARM BLANKET (like literally warmed up in the dryer) when I told him how cold it was in the room. Just got done with the dental visit. X-rays, cleaning, and filling a cavity total cost after insurance 72 dollars. They were polite I talked to the dentist (Amanda Jozsa) about my previous bad experiences with dentists that cost me a tooth and gum tissue loss. She appeared to be concerned and sympathetic. I also told her about my current situation with losing my job and having my dental insurance expire by the end of this month. I was concerned about the recession that has occurred on my gum figuring that gum grafts may be needed after their inspection they told me it is not needed but a mouth guard may be needed to prevent grinding which could also be the cause of the gum recession. I only went with the cleaning and filling. One big concern was with the dental instruments the technician dropped a couple of instruments on the floor, however, she put them aside not be used. The really big concern comes with the aesthetic shot that was a surprise it was a large glass reusable syringe which makes me very concerned about how clean it was. So I will have to weight 6 months to see if I test positive for hepatitis, aids, or any other blood born pathogens. As the day has gone on I have notice that I am getting a headache as the aesthetic has been wearing off. Other then that and those general concerns about safety with regards to contamination and reuse of specific items like syringes. It was and OK visit. I requested a copy of my X-rays and they told me that they would send I am currently still weighting on that email.ow I will update in six months or as needed it any health issues arise after this visit. They are a business. 09/22/15 I was able to get in contact with the technicians and was shown how the instruments where cleaned and then placed in and autoclave ( High temperature and pressure oven). This is good as heat and pressure can brake bonds that hold together virus DNA and RNA that can be stable on surgical instruments. This has re-leaved some of my stress when it comes to dentistry. In addition any discomfort that I had after the surgery has subsided. Note the tooth that was filled was lower right molar third from the back. again I will update as time goes on. 09/24/15 So I recently have been notified that I may $220.08 for the oral pictures they took of my teeth which to be perfectly honest was the first time a dentist did that. However as you know I recently lost my job and ask for what my insurgence covers if they do not cover this then they did not due what was asked. I do understand that this is a business and they are trying to make money and the contracts with the insurance companies limit what they can make on those tasks, but slipping in small additional things then charging exorbitant prices for them seem a bit under handed. read more

When I first came here, and looked for a place that would take my insurance, I found only a few--and was worried: what if "in network" dentists are "in network" because otherwise nobody would go to them? I didn't want my choice limited, as happens with medical HMOs. But, I thought, "Well, I'll give it a try--just one procedure, to find out if they're ok." They are more than ok--they are the best! I have gone to dentists all over the world and never have I been as satisfied (and even happy!) as I've been at Edgewater Modern Dentistry. I am 70 years old, and having the problems typical of someone who's used her natural-born set of teeth this long--and spent the last 20 years in India, with good but not state of the art dental care. So it wasn't surprising when, upon checking a crown that kept falling out, Dr. Josza told me I really should have the involved tooth pulled, and a three-tooth bridge put in. Well, I flinched, considering the cost--and chose the least expensive way to do it. Dr. Josza and her office staff worked out the best possible pricing for me, with absolutely no compromise in quality--in fact, they found a way to provide me with better than I had chosen at the price I could afford. They added to that a no-fee option to pay over time, so that I wouldn't deplete my savings covering my dental plan's deductible. I never had the feeling they looked down on me for not being wealthy--they all treated me with respect and friendliness, and a commonsense attitude that, well, of course I would need to handle finances carefully. The tooth was pulled (and the surgeon who pulled it called that night to see how everything was going!), the bridge was made and placed (and Dr. Josza called me that night, to see how I was doing). The new bridge needed a few bite adjustments--each of which was done as soon as I asked for it--never waiting for a "convenient" (for them) opening.Once I "walked in" because I happened to be nearby, and they fit me in. This is amazing--at least given my previous experience with dental offices! Now a temporary filling from India has come out, and revealed need for a root canal and possible bridge. Instead of being untrusting and seeking another opinion, I am fully confident of the diagnosis Dr. Josza made. She has asked her staff to draw up various scenarios for me, and run them by my insurance, so that I will know in advance what the whole thing will cost. This will allow me to handle it during the right timing in terms of insurance lcalendars, and will let me budget for it appropriately. I am confident that if I need to extend payment time, they will work that out, too. In other words, I feel that Dr. Josza and her staff have made "going to the dentist" something I find not scary, physically or financially, but even enjoyable (oh--yes--hey have coffee in the waiting room!). They are right there helping in all ways. One last comment: I see from some TV screen info there that they make donations to humanitarian causes in Africa, maybe also elsewhere, too. When I see a young and gifted dentist who has a heart that big, I know there is hope yet for a world too often characterized by me-firstism. In all ways, I am glad I found Edgewater Modern Dentistry, and intend to stay with them for good. read more

I was referred to the office by the VA. Any vet out there can attest to the fact that we are always a bit skeptical of a referral from the VA. In addition, I grew up in a family of dentists, so I feel that I can tell when a dental office is the real deal. After my first visit I had no idea why I was ever concerned. This place is hands down, sorry Dad, the best dental office I have ever been a patient of. Dr. Jozsa rocks! She knows here stuff, and she is great at it. Some of the previous reviewers stated they felt that the experience was really "salesy". I didn't feel any pressure to get something done. The ball was in my court the whole time. Everyone who I met, the gals behind the counter, the assistant, and the hygienist were all friendly. On top of everything I got a water bottle at the end of my first visit. It wasn't the water bottle that made my visit. It was Dr. Jozsa and her staff. They love what they do, and that is to help patients. If you need a dentist for just cleanings or your mouth is jacked up I would give this office a call. You are gonna get the best treatment possible by a dentist who loves to help. After going to two other dentists and being treated like a number with unlimited funds, I came across Edgewater Dentistry and from the second I walked through the door, I was treated like a person. I have been going to them for over a year now, had a root canal, 3 crowns and had all my silver fillings removed. These procedures were not only painless but everyone made sure I was comfortable and kept me informed of what they were doing while they were doing it. I can honestly say I don't hate going to the dentist anymore! Dr. Carlson (who did my root canal) and Dr. Jousa (not sure on the spelling of her name) are wonderful dentists. And the staff there is wonderful from the ladies at the front desk to the dental hygienists. The thing that really stood out to me about this place was that I was examined and given treatment options along with the costs, so I knew what I was dealing with, instead of being told your teeth are a disaster and it will cost thousands of dollars to get them fixed - how soon do you want to start. They gave me all the information and let me take it home and decide. I felt no pressure to hurry up and get a bunch of procedures and I could even call the dentist with any questions I had.
