It's a lot of fun to hit against someone who plays at such a high level. Not only did he play Division I tennis but also at a school that is ranked nationally top 10. I think he had an ATP ranking around 800 at some point in his career. I think the price at which he charges is very reasonable for someone who is an elite player. I am an advanced player but I also saw him giving a lesson to a teenager before me and he seem to be having a great time learning the fundamentals. I'm not sure you could find a better coach in this area that has experience playing at this level.

It has paved wide paths and boardwalks offer wide views of the calm lagoon and passing water fowl. The CLEANLINESS is a 10/10. The bermuda grass is well maintained and trimmed to perfection. Flowers are great. The park features an outdoor amphitheater, a scenic lakefront gazebo, and a Recreation Center. Overall, this is a lovely park to go on a stroll or for a run. I've been a member for over 20 years and think I am using the club more now than I ever have. I am really happy with the changes you've made over the past 5-10 years, and I feel like you are consistently getting all the little things right that add up to big things for me and keeping my membership. The locker rooms are always clean and well taken care of, the pools and hot tubs are pristine, the employees appear to be genuinely happy and engaged, and are super friendly, and the customer service is great when I've needed it. My daughter and I truly enjoy coming here just about every morning, and I think the operations of the club are a big reason why. Kudos! Also side note, I love the World Cup decorations and little fun festive things you've done around it (like the fish bowls for voting for the team you think will win). According to the fact sheet, this area is 11.2 acres. There's just large amounts of lawn where you can have an isolated picnic, and it's a fairly long stroll for a neighborhood park. It's cool that it runs next to a mini creek, closer to the residential houses. For sports, there are areas for sand volleyball, basketball, tennis (four courts), soccer, and baseball (which looked well maintained, with bleachers). There's a large playground with tanbark and picnic tables. There is an additional covered pavilion (technically you need to contact a city official to reserve this) with picnic tables and small coal barbecue pits, though they looked pretty rusty and dirty. Next to these tables is this amphitheater-like section. Parking is somewhat in a small lot, but there's street parking all over the perimeter that's readily available. The bathroom size is above average, for a neighborhood park. The main park in Foster City is superior, but this park is not bad if you want more seclusion, in some sense. It's right next to a highly trafficked road, but expansive enough to accommodate many parties without bumping into each other.

However I thought their practices around the fee structure were extremely shady. First of all, for a community center you charge a crazy amount. It's meant to be accessible and not an elite club which is what this has turned into. A name change should be well in order if they're not serving the community they belong to. Please note they are a non profit organization. Secondly they will charge you an arm and a leg for classes and membership, they will update your pricing and not give you notice. I think the fact that they don't list their prices on their website are true testament to my statement. I dropped my membership as it stopped being worth the $500 I was paying for me and the kids per month (only one of my kids was doing swim lessons) their swim classes helped for a little and then the teachers were replaced with new ones who didn't care much about the students. I ended up quitting and unless their pricing is more transparent and less elitist I'd rather drive a little bit longer.

Despite everything, Nico kept me grounded, positive, and focused. Workouts, macros, water, protein, protein, PROTEIN! He has a way of keeping you in the game even when life is throwing everything at you. This session had a tighter timeline -- I was prepping for a very special family event -- so the approach was more of a sprint compared to the gradual builds we've done in past sessions. Different, but it worked. And the real test? Traveling right before the event -- no gym, couldn't track macros, water intake was a mess -- and I still felt AMAZING. I showed up feeling like the best version of myself. That is 100% because of Nico. He is more than a trainer. He's a coach, a cheerleader, and an inspiration. The tools and mindset he's given me go beyond any single goal because at the end of the day, this is a lifestyle. The entire facility holds up to 200 people and contains a full kitchen, courtyard, billiards tables, ping pong table, air hockey table and more. The cost for Foster City residents is $156 per hour and non-residents is $208 per hour. You can rent part of the center for a lower cost as well. We had food catered in and was able to keep most of the trays warm in the oven while we served some of them. We scheduled a walkthrough a few days before the party and provided details on how we wanted the tables to be set-up. Parking is plenty as this center is where Leo J Ryan Park is. This venue is going to be one of the top on our list of venues for future party/gathering needs.
