Gorgeous Green Bay right across Highway 42.
    Howard L.

This is a nice coastal town hotel that sits scenically adjacent to the lake but across Highway 42.  We were again lucky to get a room up here during this peak fall week as it's a prime property in a prime location, and best of all for us, it's right next to The Old Post Office Restaurant where we had booked a traditional fish boil dinner.  I booked this place only 2 weeks in advance, and was actually happy to pay probably 2x the normal rate for the only room available.  The stay does not include any breakfast as the only restaurant on the property is the separately operated Old Post Office Restaurant which does also serve breakfast.  The setup is also a bit more akin to a motel as there is no real central lobby, but just a small check-in room they call a lobby, and which we had a little trouble actually finding, ha.  Vivi was the friendly receptionist and she readily accommodated an early 1:30pm check-in for us (I called ahead) versus the normal 3:30pm check-in time. The room was spacious and comfortable and a lakeside door opened to a common walkway with a gorgeous view of Green Bay/Lake Michigan.  I'll go with 5 stars but it's on the basis of ignoring the cost.  When it's peak season and you've decided you want to be there, and there's no rooms in town, cost becomes kinda secondary amirite??

We stayed at the Edgewater Resort near the end of April so the prices were quite affordable. We were not offered any breakfast options. Our room was on the first floor facing the water. We had a door to the front patio which was beautiful. It was small with a queen bed. The bed was not comfortable and the pillows were horrible, but it was a clean room. I think I would try staying at another place due to the lack of comfort.

We stayed in studio cottage 128 for three nights. This unit is not luxurious but has the necessities of a great base camp for all of your Door County activities. E.g. clean, comfortable bed, good shower, refrigerator, microwave and access to all the resort amenities.

Excellent hotel, one of the best in Door County. Excellent rooms, friendly staff and the restaurant is perfect for breakfast and fish boils. Love the view and the generous amount of space you get including a full kitchen. My wife and I have been coming here for years and would highly recommend this hotel for both couples and families.

Let me tell you about the shower: it had a rain showerhead on the ceiling activated by a push button. Temperature was totally adjustable and then there was a handheld sprayer also activated by a button and three sprayers mounted on the wall in front of you that you could aim in different areas of your body and they were activated by a button. Each of them was separately adjustable; for instance, let's say I wanted to do something with the showerheadsthat we're shooting at me from the front - by turning the knob to the left or right I could adjust the pressure. It was the best shower experience I've ever had, OK wow I very much love the resort and the shower, which I spent a lot of time in but there was one negative. There was a table and chairs in the room. The chairs were very uncomfortable to sit in so if you were gonna spend much time in the room, it was difficult however, there was a nice soft couch just outside our room and so when I needed to sit, I sat outside on the couch. There was also room to park a boat in the parking lot, which I did. I plan to go back in the fall to Door County and based on that wonderful shower I think I wanna go back to Bay Breeze Resort. I think you would love it too!

The weekend I went also happened to be the Fall 50 marathon so places were booked up. Alpine was offering their off-season rates for their club house rooms (on the golf course, pretty remote but a close walk into town). I paid $175/night (normally $300+) for a king room overlooking the course. There is a 3 night minimum but I got the sense that if they aren't too busy, they're flexible on that. The pictures online don't do it justice, it's quaint and comfortable. On the weekends they put out fresh cookies and extra coffee. It was perfect for what I needed: some relaxation in between hikes and strolls through various Door County harbor towns. It's about a 20-30 min walk into the Main Street of Egg Harbor. While I was there, the restaurant in the club house was not open but it will be open Nov. 1 through the winter, which will be a nice option if it's super cold and you want to grab a quick dinner without going far. I had a great time!

We had a nice room overlooking the golf course. This is a separate building from the resort main hotel & cabins, and is newly & stylishly furnished. Free coffee and refrigerator and rooms. Good location & access to rest of town. Five stars for great service, specifically Davante. They offer a free black car shuttle for guests, up to 5 miles from the resort. Davante, the shuttle driver, did a superb job. He was helpful, with good tips about the area. He communicated well about timing for pick-up and drop off. The shuttle is especially nice when you want to go to dinner and enjoy a few cocktails without worrying about driving home to the hotel. They should give Davante a raise, considering the number of negative other reviews on the resort. We had an opposite experience! Extra bonus points for having fire pits and a bar downstairs in the Clubhouse. This is a shared amenity with the golf club, but enjoyable nevertheless. We were even provided a s'mores kit upon request, and spent a bit of a lovely evening by the fire pits. Make sure to ask for the Clubhouse when booking!

We rented a 2-storey townhouse unit through our owners membership in Club Wyndham Destinations. It's a beautiful unit with a dedicated garage, two full bathrooms with jetted spa tubs and large shower stalls. The fireplace is real and there are wood logs provided. The master bedroom is massive, the kitchen fully stocked (as with all Wyndhams), but for us the best feature is the enclosed, heated patio with a comfy 4-chairs/table set. It leads to an outdoor deck with a Weber grill. The Recreation Center has a good sized heated pool indoors and outdoor hot tub. You can rent cross country ski equipment or ice skates for outdoor Winter activities. The townhouses are truly young-family-friendly as evidenced by the high chair and booster seat in the front closet. Little Sweden is in Fish Creek, WI, a very cute touristy town. We enjoyed shopping and even attending a local church service on Sunday. For the Summer, we look forward to boating and fishing. We hope to return in the Summer.

One other person mentioned to just make it a day trip to come here but I think it really depends on your interests. This is a really nice resort that would be much more expensive in a more populated location or easier to get to destination. If you don't golf, they have pontoon boats with a captain you can pay for to explore the surrounding river, kayaks, canoes, atv's, and bikes that you can rent, tennis/basketball on site, walking trails, and a really nice pool and hot tub. There's also a spa but we didn't try that. There's a few waterfalls within 20 minutes for some short hikes but we didn't get to see them. It's a beautiful area but relatively small area without much to do outside of the resort. They also have some winter sport options. If you do golf, the 9 hole course is easy and short. It's pretty well maintained, and if you time it right it's pretty cheap. They have an off-peak $19 nine hole rate for Monday's and can also give you clubs to borrow/rent. Food wise they basically have one nice restaurant and one bar restaurant. They both have stuff for the kids, and the food at breakwaters (the bar) was surprisingly good. I'm not a huge boneless wings fan but the sauce was nice and the Cajun seasoned chip shaped fries were great. We also tried the four seasons burger with the salted caramel sauce which was awesome as well as the classic cheese curd side. We finished it off with a shared slice of rich and delicious chocolate sin cake. The bar also has bands on the weekend (ice cream parlor on site also opens up on the weekends) and it gets very busy here with locals, especially for Packers games. Breakfast was boxed probably due to covid. It was just ok with the sort of pre-packaged items you might expect in a continental breakfast minus a waffle/pancake machine. Coffee wasn't great (pre-ground bag style with watery, weak result) and this part of our stay did not match the rest. The room was very comfortable with large beds and plenty of space. Salt water, heated pool was great for the kids and hot tub perfect for adults. Our kids really enjoyed this and we had the whole place to ourselves. I would recommend coming late summer or early fall as we did although winter could be fun too if it's not too cold. We paid a similar price (sub $200) for the comfort inn in Marquette but this is a better value higher level stay.

We decided on Bailey's Harbor instead, which is just a 20-minute drive from Fish Creek, offering stunning views of the lake, surrounding nature, and charming villages along the way. I paid $200 for one night in a Trailside One Bedroom Suite, which featured an apartment-style layout with a queen bed, a pull-out sofa in the living room, a full kitchen, parking, and a lovely view of the wooded trail area. The room was spacious and clean, providing a cozy, cabin-like atmosphere that was more than enough for two people. The property itself is absolutely beautiful, with walking trails, stunning views of Lake Michigan, and a peaceful, secluded ambiance. It also offers a dock, beach area, hot tub, and pool, all surrounded by majestic pines. We were able to easily walk to the water, the breakfast hall, and other areas of the property. During our stay, we also noticed a small wedding taking place, adding to the charming atmosphere. The only thing preventing me from giving a 5-star review is the quality of the breakfast. It was typical of a basic hotel breakfast--scrambled eggs made from powdered eggs, cereal, coffee, juice, and so on. As someone who loves breakfast, it would have been a nice touch to have freshly made scrambled eggs and hashbrowns, which would have really elevated the experience for me. Overall, I'm excited to return in the summer to take advantage of the outdoor pool, hot tub, beach area, dock, and outdoor seating. I'm also looking forward to trying the restaurant on the property next time.
