Everything felt like there was effort and care here. Our room was great with excellent air conditioning. The breakfast was standard continental breakfast but very nice with fresh food, a couple of hot items (the biscuits and gravy were great) and it was very nice. What really makes this place a winner is you have a jack in the box/mini-mart right next door and you have a Denny's right next door on the other side! Such a convenience to wander of to the JITB/Mini-Mart after the races and pickup some cold drinks and tacos/burgers. There's also tons of other restaurants and stores like McDonalds, Dominos, Burger King, Los Margaritas Mexican and a bunch of others within sight. For travelers, this convenience is spectacular and rare to have it so easily accessible and nearby. I didn't get a chance to see the pool area but I am sure it is as nice as the rest of the hotel. A solid 10/10 experience and we'll be sure to book here again anytime we plan to go have fun up at Emerald Downs again!

We upgraded to a suite so there were two rooms. The heater in the bedroom worked fine but the one in the main room did not (we figured the hotel is aware because it was unplugged). I received a bagged to-go breakfast since I checked out before breakfast began (I wasn't offered the to-go, I had to ask for it), so I can't comment on the in-house breakfast. Communications about details of arrival and pick up at Sea-Tac and receiving an email receipt with the front desk were a little frustrating. For a new traveler or a foreign person, it wouldn't have been a fun experience. The fast shuttle to the airport was great.

The people who work there are very kind and helpful. Probably the best part of it. Those are the pros. The cons... 1. No AC. It's Summer time and the rooms get sweltering. I showered at least 4 times a day. 2. It's noisy! You can't sleep with the Windows open because the bus, people, cars Etc. are right there outside your window. 3. Getting a bathroom in you room is a "Premium" upgrade you pay extra for. 4. Room service (changing of sheets and new towels is a "Premium" upgrade you pay extra for. 5. There is no elevator. You are carrying everything up stairs. 6. There is a loft on the 4th floor that is roomy however during Summer the other guest referred to it as the sauna. 7. The shower you do pay extra for is tiny, I mean one person at a time and there is literally no room to turn around or in my case (6'4") you can't even stand all the way up. 8. The TV works sometimes. Some channels work, some do not. Roll the dice and good luck. 9. There is no ice machine. There are 3 ice trays in the freezer. And if someone doesn't fill them back up, you might not get but a couple cubes. 10. The room are quaint (tiny). I have a bigger closet at home. The rooms should not be more than $119, with the one bed, no bathrooms being no more than $99. The cost of one week here with parking was just under $1,500. I found that Stay Pineapple, University was only $86 more for a week with AC, pool, and all the aforementioned amenities + gym, included and only 6 mins away. The free breakfast is basically coffee/tea + yogurt, some fruit, and a packaged pastry (like a waffle). On our last night, the bathroom light broke, so we ended up having to use the bathroom in the dark. Showering in the dark - not fun. I explained to her that as a corporate guest, I needed to itemize and pay for personal items (toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash) separately. Enter the rudeness...and my shock. She seemed nice enough to the other guests. Carly snapped that she needs to see my card...which is obvious if I am about to pay. I handed her both my personal card and my corporate card. I tried to make a joke about how I couldn't refuse to give her my cards anyway. She responded, "Well you could refuse but you wouldn't be allowed out." At this point I looked up for a smile thinking she was joking also...she wasn't. I said, "I would never actually do that. I am (insert my age) and travel for business all the time." She continues to punch in numbers or something and doesn't look up. I asked her to please remember that it was non-food items that needed to be separate. She cut me off mid sentence with a, "Yes I know," or something like that. She was dismissive and irritable. When I asked her why the toothbrush, toothpaste and mouthwash were $40, she realized her mistake. She was very annoyed and then rather than apologize, she sighed and started to attempt to correct the issue. When I reiterated the way the expenses needed to processed on a corporate acct, she rolled her eyes. At this point, I am in the twilight zone...and developing a migraine. I literally could not parse how we got here or what I did to deserve such classless behavior. At the end, it took about 35 minutes and a manager to resolve the issue. The manager was also defensive, not once did she show concern for the way I was treated or customer service. No apology for the mistake or the dirty room. Just equivocations and detours off the issues. Not worth it. Won't repeat the visit.
