We decided to refinish the wood flooring (1/2 the first floor was wood) in our house as well as pull up the soiled carpets in the other half of our house and replace it with new wood. Nelson came to our home reviewed the damaged floors and without pressuring us, provided a very detailed explanation of the process and then provided a very fair quote. Throughout the entire process he made himself available to our many questions, including on the weekend. He was also very patient when we asked him to do a match of the builder grade stain used on the original flooring. He gave us multiple color choices which actually inspired us to change the color which we had originally never considered! Due to weather, we had an issue with the floor not drying and bubbles occurring in the polyurethane and without us asking, Nelson volunteered to rebuff the top layer of the Poly. We cannot express how happy we were that he went that extra step for us. Stop your search! Nelson is the man for your job.

After multiple visits to the store and dealing with conflicting information on process and cost, we had enough and returned to First American Carpet & Rug, where we first bought and carpeted our home in 1984. Derrick competently presented us with quality carpet options and offered a great deal, including high-rated quality padding with a moisture barrier. This padding enhanced comfort extended the carpet's life, and improved insulation and soundproofing. The most rewarding aspect of working with First American was interfacing with only two people, Derrick, and the installation team, and receiving consistent information. Derrick personally visited our home to precisely measure the bedrooms, hall, and stairway. Jose, the son of Orlando who installed our carpets in 1984, led his team of experienced installers who must have exceeded industry standards and best practices. They did an outstanding job, with seams strategically placed to be inconspicuous and the carpet cut accurately around edges and obstacles, transitioning smoothly to bathroom tiles. Within an hour of project completion, Derrick made a follow-up visit to ensure the carpet met all workmanship standards.
