They have a huge drink selection, chip selection, snack selection and surprisingly a huge greeting card selection. I love that I can come downstairs to get balloons, a card and a gift for a coworker with ease. The card selection really is great and beyond helpful to have downstairs at work. They have a cute little stuffed animal section, as well. You can find a scratch & win lotto machine plus you're able to buy regular lotto tickets here as well. Dollinger Family Farm checked all the boxes, so we gave it a shot. I'm so glad I did because we had a very positive experience. We arrived on a Saturday right when it opened to avoid crowds. There were others there, but distancing was so easy. There were signs everywhere about wearing a mask and there was also a hand-washing station. We noticed a lot of other farms that are an easy drive from like Chicago did not take this pandemic seriously at all, so we loved supporting a farm that did take it seriously. We looked a bit at the animals--so cute!--before heading over to look at the pumpkins (AKA the main event). They had a tractor set up with a bunch of assorted squash for the perfect photo op. Then, pumpkins were sorted into piles based on size with a sign with the price. For example, a pile with $8 pumpkins. I believe the most expensive were $12. We selected two $8 pumpkins that were huge! My only suggestion would be to actually label the pumpkins with prices. The people in front of us in line picked a pumpkin from the $9 pile, but the employee insisted that this was too big of a pumpkin to have come from that pile. She said sometimes customers move the pumpkins around. I don't blame the customers for being a little frustrated because they obviously picked their pumpkin with the price in mind. We were worried this might happen to us, but they did not question when we told them we picked $8 pumpkins. The service was excellent. An employee actually took our pumpkins and we could drive up to pick them up before leaving. It was so helpful not to have to carry these huge pumpkins over to the car ourselves. Admission is $20 per person. However, I also visited about four years ago, and I was surprised that almost nothing has changed. Many of the toys, exhibits, and play areas looked the same and felt quite worn from years of use. I would recommend visiting at least once because it's a nice experience for kids, but I don't think it's a place I would return to regularly unless they update or refresh the exhibits.

(It was also a particularly good move because we would be leaving shortly thereafter on our five-hour roadtrip back home -- so great for getting out the wiggles!) This museum is one large floor filled with spaces for kids to play with. There's a play grocery, play restaurant, play doctors office, play mechanic, play water tables, play music area -- even a play bookshop. Everything the kids could touch and learn from. We easily spent a couple of hours exploring everything alongside our kiddos. The trick was keeping an eye on our kids since they were constantly running from one thing to the next. We also visited during a weekend of a freezing cold snap, which meant it was packed with families hoping to wear their kids out indoors. Even still, we were able to play with everything without a long wait. I loved seeing how thought out each area was and all the ways that the kids could interact with everything. If I lived in this area, I would definitely have a membership and visit often!

One evening when we were given an estimated wait time of 30 minutes by Spacca Napoli for a patio table, we found that an excellent chance to visit Hazel, a mere 5-minute walk from the pizzeria. As soon as we walked inside Hazel, a friendly man behind the counter promptly greeted us.  I was impressed by the huge and well-curated collection of goods for all ages and styles.  Daughter was so excited to show me around as if it's her own store, lol.  On one wall was a huge display of greeting cards.  There were also jewelry, accessories, baby gifts, housewares, and gifts for men.  Prices were quite reasonable.  If you need a gift, there's really no excuse of not finding one to buy. We were there for 10 minutes having a great time browsing around, then my phone rang and I was told that our table was ready, so we hurried out without buying anything.  The friendly man behind the counter still politely said "thank you" to us! Even the most anti-outdoors person would enjoy coming here. Parking is ample and the park is huge, spanning 1,700 acres! It took me many years realize how fortunate I was to grow up with this sensational outdoor museum within minutes from my home, after visiting many similar gardens, I can confirm the Arb is certainly a must see experience for nature lovers. There is some amazing history about this place as well. J. Sterling Morton created Arbor Day and he was the father of Joy Morton (founded Morton Salt). Joy made moneeyyyyy and decided he was going to buy land and basically collect trees from all over the world. In 1922, The Morton Arboretum was established with 175 acres and it's SO COOL this place still exists and has blown up to 1,700 acres.
