I'm not sure if they do consignment style shops within the gift shop, or if it's all under the same business, but it's arranged in a bunch of mini sections that all kind of have a different aesthetic. It was a bit maze-like, but I have no doubt they sell something in here for everyone. Like the gift shop, the bakery had huge variety. Who knew there were so many types of cake? I ended up getting a carrot cake latte and a heart shaped macaron. It was only after I had ordered my latte with oat milk, checked out (including paying the up-charge for oat milk), and waited several minutes that they told me they were out of oat milk. This was disappointing, as I paid my extra for the oat milk, yes, but also because I don't really want a latte in general without it. Regardless, it was too late, so I just told them to do it with 2%. The latte was okay but I didn't love it. It mostly tasted sweet and like cinnamon. Which I guess is more or less what carrot cake tastes like? The menu said it came with a cream cheese cold foam or whipped cream (I don't remember which) but it came out with plain whipped cream. The espresso was a little bitter - maybe burnt or shocked. The macaron was gorgeous, but didn't have a macaron taste or texture. It was hard like cookie. A macaron should be light and airy, and the shell should almost collapse under a bite. I had to chomp through this one. I am not sure if it was stale, a bad batch, or if their "macarons" are just "macaron shaped cookies" by design.

I was pretty taken aback by how many dessert options they had. Not only did they have a plethora of types of desserts, but they had sooo many flavors/varieties of each one. A dozen different variations of cheesecakes, several cupcake varieties, a dozen different kinds of macarons, several different cakes, tiramisu, tres leches, banana pudding, edible cookie dough, more cookies than I could name, brownies, eclairs, and more that I'm sure I have forgotten. If you can name it, I'm sure they have it. I've been looking for somewhere nearby to get a proper macaron (as opposed to a hard, macaron shaped cookie without the traditional texture) at a reasonable price point. This definitely met those criteria, so of course we tried a flower shaped macaron. It had the perfect, delicate cookie and that classic, light almondy flavor. We also had a brownie batter cookie, which was delicious and reminds me of something I would have saved on Pinterest a decade ago but never gotten around to making, much less as well as they do. Though there was a line inside, we were served super quickly by friendly staff, and found a nice seat outside in the sun. They also had abundant indoor seating. Maybe I'm the last one to hear about Sweet Dough and everyone else has been a fan, or maybe it's a true hidden gem. Either way, I will 100% be back.

I have probably gone to Sweet Dough close to a dozen times, most of the time with my toddler, teenage athletes that I coach, or my husband, and no one that I know has ever left disappointed. The desserts are phenomenal. I can personally attest to the great quality of various cakes, banana pudding, bars, cookies, macarons, cheesecake, and the cinnamon buns OH MY GOSH. The prices are very reasonable and most of the servings are awesome! It's also a great hangout spot for a small group. I had team bonding with my volleyball team there last year; we played board games and just kept getting more desserts and coffee! In fact, I need to get out that way and get some more dessert (I'm getting hungry as I type!). The staff are friendly and give good recommendations, and I have never had to wait for food.

I've since moved to Greensboro, so it's been a while, but as soon as I walked through the door and caught a whiff of coffee and their delicious baked goods, I was reminded why this was my favorite coffee shop in HP. Debeen Espresso is a charming, female-owned local gem that combines the art of great coffee with delicious, in-house gluten free and vegan baked goods. From the moment you step inside, the inviting atmosphere and warm smiles from the baristas set the tone for a great experience. I had the pleasure of trying their banana walnut muffin, and let me just say--it was the moistest muffin I've ever tasted. The balance of banana, walnut, and spice was perfect, and it paired wonderfully with my almond milk latte. There's an array of gluten free and vegan muffin and cookie options as well as additional treats (overnight oats, carrots and hummus, etc) in the fridge. It's clear that Debeen Espresso takes pride in not just the quality of their coffee, but in everything they do. The service was fast and friendly and the shop itself is cozy, with plenty of comfortable seating both inside and out. We opted to sit on the outdoor patio, where additional seating provides a chance to enjoy the fresh air while sipping your favorite drink. Adjacent to Debeen is Pure Light Yoga, creating the perfect opportunity to sip, savor, and even savasana--all in one visit. Whether you're there for a quiet moment away or catching up with a friend, Debeen Espresso offers a unique and relaxing space where you can really enjoy your experience. If you're in the area, don't miss out on this cozy spot with its delicious drinks, healthy treats and welcoming vibe.

It is located in a small strip mall off North Main Street with plenty of parking. The front of the Ice Cream Shop is decorated very lively and you can see how much they appreciate their High Point University customers from a large welcome sign they have up letting them know this. The first thing that got my attention when I went in, besides how clean and organized the place was, was the great variety of offerings they had. I've been in order Ice Cream Parlors that serve Hershey's Ice Cream before and was aware of the many flavors they have to offer, but here besides the 64 flavors, they seem to have a variety of ways to have your ice cream, as well as other items such as smoothies and frozen lemonade, just to name a few. And to motivate you to explore the different ways of having your ice cream, they have pictures on the wall showing them. Even though the place was small with very few tables and chairs, it was already decorated for the Fall with colored leaves all over and small pumpkins on the table, creating a festive ambiance in which to enjoy some good ice cream. A young lady greated me with a smile and gave me a warm welcome. Since I was in the area to attend a Dinner Party that evening, I didn't want to get anything large; just a medium size cup of a nice flavor ice cream. The employee was so nice and helpful that when I asked her about a flavor besides explaining it she offered to give me a try on a tiny spoon. I tried the flavor Road Runner Raspberry and I instantly loved it. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to read about what this flavor contained and see for yourselves how good it looked for a picture is worth a thousand words. I enjoyed having this wonderful flavor ice cream and the High Point University sign in the entrance made me remember my college years in Boston and Cambridge, Massachusetts, and how much I enjoyed going out with my friends for some ice-cream. I highly recommend this Ice Cream Shop and thank the owners of this family-owned business for providing this sweet spot where members of the community can come to spend some quality time with family and friends while they savor some good ice-cream.

Lemon Bar, which was a soft sugar cookie with a zesty lemon, creamy custard like on top. Not too sweet and not too tart. Third choice was the Chocolate Cupcake, soft sugar cookie with a generous amount of chocolate frosting and chocolate sprinkles, OMG (drool!!). Lastly, the original Chocolate Chip. Warm, soft, and lots of big fat chocolate chips. Each cookie was great in their own ways. These cookies are BIG and definitely splittable. Four cookies were $16.00, so it's not an everyday treat for us. More of a special occasion place. I wish there was seating inside to instantly enjoy these goodies. Overall, we'd definitely go back and I do recommend a try if you haven't.

I ordered the candy cane cookie, red velvet mini cookie, a grinch mini cookie and a chocolate chip mini cookie. Both chilled cookies were delicious. I have yet to try the other two, but I would recommend trying the candy cane and red velvet for sure!
