I've been getting cakes here for many years, since their Reston location, year after year. After receiving my most recent birthday cake, I think I'll stop. I ordered a cake, for which I sent my own graphic image. I requested simple, basic lettering for the "Happy Birthday, Teresa" font. It was done at their discretion, but I did not expect this distasteful, rainbow, outdated, Microsoft-word-art looking design for my name. The "Happy Birthday" verbiage don't wasn't bad per se, but it was obviously rushed, or someone simply did not care enough to fix the overlapping lettering (see pics). Despite wanting to give less stars, I'll give 3 because honestly, I've always loved their cake flavors; and previously I had positive experiences. We did a tasting with Edibles Incredible (EI) for a wedding that was COVID-postponed. We loved the taste so I did buy my birthday cake here as well. My cake was delivered rather than mailed during the shutdown so there were no issues. However, I ordered my wife's cake via mail. Turns out that was a mistake. The cake was completely ruined. I emailed EI to show them the photos only to be promptly ignored. I'm unsure what response I was hoping for, but being ignored wasn't one of them. Their food may taste good, but for the price I would expect matching service. If we ever do get to have our wedding ceremony, EI will not have our business. read more

This bakery has been voted top in so many different publications and polls that I'm surprised I hadn't managed to make my way there until today. I was lucky enough to meet both of the owners on my very first visit today. Incredibly warm and friendly people, they went out of their way to explain how everything was made on site. Needless to say they know all the ingredients of every item also. I was offered samples of cookies and bark, given a first time customer discount on cake slices and the owner even carried my pie out to the car for me. Every item I sampled was top-notch from the chocolate caramel to the Italian wedding cookies to the fudge, peppermint bark and petit-fours. In addition to the ready made cakes, slices, cupcakes, brownies, cookies and chocolates, you can also custom order everything from a wedding cake to 400 (or more) cupcakes. Actually, I'm torn as to how to rate the cupcakes we tried. 2 stars ("meh") didn't seem quite right but neither does 3 stars ("a-ok"). Maybe it's somewhere in between... Finally, after having tried Red Velvet Cupcakery and seeing the Yelp reviews for Edibles Incredible, I convinced him to try a cupcake here. I chose "Vanilla Freakin' Vanilla" while he chose the Lemon cupcake. We had a nice, helpful clerk who told us that the lemon one was her favorite and that also, we bought the last one for the day (and this was around 4:30 p.m.!). Their cupcakes are bigger than average---and the cost reflects that, too. Two cupcakes cost $8.09. The "Vanilla Freakin' Vanilla" has a vanilla cake and an orange-flavored frosting. I was expecting it to taste just like a Creamsicle. Well...I figured wrong. There was very little orange flavor in the frosting. Plus there was too much frosting and it was too sweet. The cake part was moist---way too moist as it crumbled and fell apart more and more with each bite. My husband bit into his Lemon one and was surprised to find a lemon custard filling. His cupcake fell apart faster than mine and he ended up needing a spoon to eat the rest of it! He thought his frosting was too sweet and not lemony enough. However, he did say that the lemon custard had good flavor. In conclusion, we won't come back---at least not for cupcakes. Found this place unexpectedly and I'm so glad I did. Sweet treats everywhere I look. Employees are always kind and helpful. They wrap everything neatly. The store is clean and organized. Their cupcakes and cakes are delicious. The cakes have a lovely fluffy consistency and pack a great deal of flavor. They do put quite a bit of icing on their cakes but it's so tasty. Smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet. I appreciate that the icing isn't grainy. My top favorites would have to be Lemon Sublime, Yellow Moon, and Red Velvet (in that order). Prices are steep but it's good stuff. It's definitely not a place I can visit frequently but a nice treat. They also serve as wonderful gifts! read more

And if you do, only pay a deposit upon signing the contract, do not pay for your cake in full upfront. I used to be a huge fan of Edible Incredible, but I will never patronize them again. They did a wonderful job on my wedding cake in October 2017, and I referred 2 friends to them for their weddings since my own. One of my friends was supposed to be a 2020 bride and has had to make some tough decisions based on the pandemic. No bride wants to postpone or cancel her wedding, but unfortunately that's a decision my friend had to make. Dealing with cancelling a wedding sucks and it's only made worse by vendors that refuse to do the right thing. Edible Incredible is one of those vendors. Edible Incredible should have offered my friend a voucher for future services, whatever services she may want. It's that simple! They are only offering to make her wedding cake, which she will not be needing for the foreseeable future. Why would she want a wedding cake for 100 people if her wedding was cancelled?? Everybody understands that contracts are contracts, but who can plan for a global pandemic. Quoting contract stipulations to an already devastated bride is totally unacceptable during these times. Be flexible, be compassionate, be human. You taste a Moist, dense, buttery, lemon cake! Simply amazing! Just make sure you serve at room temperature! That actually requires at least 4-5 hours out of the fridge! I needed to order a special cake for my Father-In-Law but I lived in a different state. We had a very specific request for this cake so I spoke with multiple bakeries in that area. We ended up going with EID because Jim, the man we were talking with, went above and beyond to make a connection with me! We brainstormed different ideas and felt like our cake was important to him. We had no problem paying in full because of that connection. His communication was awesome and I was so excited to meet him when we picked up the cake. We ordered a 3 tier cake, that feeds 75 people for our wedding on May 25, 2018. This was our first (and last) place that we visited for possible wedding cake vendors. Alan was very confident in their cakes and told us "get that idea of plain dry wedding cake out of your head". In our first bite we did just that. We tasted 3 complementary generous slices of cake: Pina Colada, Lemon Sublime, and Amaretto, and we fell in LOVE. We selected all three flavors for our wedding cake and purchased two additional slices: Chocolate, and Red Velvet which were equally amazing. The cake is MOIST, so moist it sort of just melts in your mouth. Each flavor actually tasted the way you would imagine, however, the lemon (the most popular) is not tart like one would think. It has a light taste of lemon with a pineapple curd in the middle. It was amazing. My personal favorite was the Pina Coloada. We came up with a design that was very modern to fit our wedding scheme and it was executed beautifully! Elvira checked in a few times, was very helpful in advising us what would work best with the design that was chosen. She was also VERY helpful in designing a Groom's Cake that was executed perfectly! Our wedding guests RAVED about our wedding cake. People called us the next day asking for another slice (not joking). My order was taken and I was told everything would be taken care of. The next day I spoke with the cake decorator that couldn't offer anything close to what I had requested. She offered pre-made 6 inch cakes that gad already bern decorated with nothing close to the design I requested. She did not take responsibility for allowing someone unqualified to take cake orders to answer the phone. In addition, she had no resolution for the poor level of customer service that was received. This company wasted my time. I could have ordered a cake fir my daughter's 8th birthday elsewhere with a bakery that could actually delivered what they had promised. I was referred by the Wegman's Bakery from an employee. What a sad way to lose potential customers. Given the poor customer service we received from Edible Incredibles I am compelled to write this review. We contracted with them 8 months before the wedding to design and build our daughter's wedding cake. We also ordered gluten free cupcakes and an assortment of handmade candies. We were excited to have them do it since their cakes and candies tasted delicious. However, when the cake and extra items arrived LATE and with the INCORRECT cake design and candies my daughter noticed it immediately and wife just broke down in tears. You have only one chance to get a wedding cake right for a customer. Edible Incredibles blew it in a magnificent way. My wife and daughter spent several months designing the cake. They sent pictures to Robyn so she could understand how the cake should look. A month before the wedding they met with Robyn to bring in the cake topper and finalize the details on the decorations. Robyn took extensive notes. The design had a lot of elements that had special meaning to my daughter and son-in-law. On the wedding day the cake arrived a little more than an hour late (which was a half hour before the wedding was supposed to start!). My wife noticed immediately that the cake was nowhere near what was designed and paid for and started to cry. At this point it is too late. Plus, the delivery person brought the cake through the front door instead of the back so everyone saw the cake come in and my wife in tears. His attitude was remarkably rude and disrespectful (again for all of our guests to see - and they commented on it) where it seemed he just wanted to get out as soon as he could. There is no excuse for this kind of unprofessional attitude. My wife went to the store on Monday (wedding was on Saturday) to complain about the cake, the candy, and how we were treated. She was met by the delivery guy who was tending the counter. My wife asked to speak to Robyn or Allen. While my wife was explaining to Robyn what was wrong with the cake and the service, Robyn's husband Allen, started to defend their actions in front of my angry and upset wife to the point where Robyn had to correct his behavior in front of her. After explaining how the cake was not designed correctly Robyn took out her notes and both agreed the cake was indeed not designed correctly which included one layer of the cake being the wrong flavor. Robyn itemized what was missing from the cake (which included part of the cake topper too) and the candies that were ordered but were delivered incorrect, which amounted to approximately 1/3 of the total order. Robyn said she was going to put the credit into the system the following day. However, it has been almost two months now and we have yet to receive the credit. My wife called 2 days ago and talked with Alan who said Robyn handles the finances and is out. Still waiting for a call or email back. This experience has been a disaster on an extremely special day they could have made extra special but didn't. Though the flavor and consistency of their baked goods is great, I would NOT RECOMMEND anyone use them for wedding cakes. It seems they can't follow directions, don't listen to the customer's needs and desires, try to blame the customer for their mistakes, rude, and don't follow through on what they told the customer they would do to remedy mistakes made on their part. read more

On the day of the event, the cake turned out to be nothing I expected: 1) the cake is decorated with cream cheese, not fondant, so the entire cake looks rough with edges not smooth 2) the topper - made of two pieces of cardboard glued together 3) "baby boy" was drew on rather than using fondant printed characters. In all, the store used the cheapest material for the cake to trick their customers and maximize profit. When I picked up the cake from the store, the store employee said the cake was baked somewhere else and no one there could even fix it. My friend was polite enough to accept the cake, asked me where the cake was from, I had to joke that my husband made the cake because it did not look professionally made by a bakery with the price tag of over $120. I had a custom cake made for my mom's birthday. When I went to pick it up the inside of the cake had shrunken and collapsed. The kind young girl working there was no baker but tried her hardest to fix it. She was told over the phone to take extra icing and just prop it up. I have photos of the "fixed" cake. I complained through calls and texts and got no response from management. My complaints were completely ignored. My husband brought me a box of truffles back from DC. He insisted this was the "it" bakery, and after I tried them, I had to check out the yelp reviews. All I can say is, cupcakes at less than $4 each seems like a steal compared to $3 for one truffle. First a caviat - I started making truffles over the holidays - they aren't difficult to make - and they actually aren't that pricey to make either. The tasting right before ours ran over so we just explored the store while we waited. Alan, the owner, is a bit over the top in self-endorsement but I found it amusing. If you're easily put off by showmanship and flair, you might want a different baker lol. We tasted Vivacious Vanilla, Lemon Sublime, and Amazing Amaretto-all delicious with generous portions. He also included some other goodies in the tasting that were so yum, my husband bought some treats to take to his employees the next day. For our small wedding of 50-60, we chose a 2 layer, simple design with lemon sublime and amazing amaretto. I'm allergic to pineapple so they were able to change the filling to the traditional buttercream (just ask). Working with Robyn, a co-owner, after our tasting was a joy. I wasn't a fussy bride but something about her "handling" was very confident and reassuring. She took care all of the last minute cake details and confirmations and even changed our design to a 3 layer to give it more pop at the wedding-great call. Our guests loved both flavors and were raving about it for months! Something unique-they don't believe in freezing the top layer and eating it on your anniversary because it ruins the deliciousness. Update. Id give 1.5 stars if possible because the cake itself was good. However the decor was not what I ordered. My cake was a 3 tiered buttercream cake with ribbon and stenciling around each tier. The stenciling is my point of complaint. When speaking with Robin, the co owner of the business I emailed what I wanted. Celtic knotwork around all 3 tiers. I even offered to pay extra for the design...but was assured it was built into the price. 3 weeks before the wedding I get a call finalizing details and am told they are going to attempt to trace the desired pattern and that i can stop by within the next few days to view it. I call back to tell them i am stopping by and am told by Robin "ma'am thats not necessary because we were able to print out the pattern and blow it up so it will be EXACTLY what you wanted." I sent an email to them originally stating "I want stenciled celtic knotwork that is filled in solidly similar to this wedding cake (picture attached) but with this design (picture also attached). I went out of the way to ask if it was even possible given the intricate nature of the pattern to which i was told by alan, the owner "there's not much we can't do. This should be easy to accomplish" when I first emailed. Im attaching the photos so you can see for yourself the difference. Its not just that the pattern was poorly drawn, the execution was extremely poor as well. If you look at the pictures, you'll even see where the stenciling is uneven and bleeding on some areas. (We were in a venue with a temperature of 68 degrees...so it wasnt melting, this is the way it came.) It really sucks that I had this beautiful vision for this cake and got this instead. They make you sign off on it on the day of that you are "happy with it" but...what can you say day of? Im hours away from getting married...can I really not sign off on it and not have a wedding cake. Thats not an acceptable solution. I would STRONGLY suggest that they ALWAYS require a second meeting when the final sketch or design is completed so they can confirm youre happy with it. Rather than just assuming they know what you want and dismissing you when you ask to see it. Id also suggest that if youre going here, don't do a wedding cake. They have great cakes but, despite their assurances of perfection it was clearly not. For your special day...you should work with a company that takes the time and dedication to maks it perfect. I have seen nice cakes from here, and they have good flavor, but design is 75% of a wedding cake and they fell very short. And now for the rest of my life I will have to look at a wedding photo album with pictures of our cake cutting and wince at the almost $900 i spent on a cake that wasnt what I ordered. This terrible stencil job is now a permanent part of my wedding photos unless I find someone to photoshop out their shoddy workmanship. read more

So I really, really, really LOVE cupcakes!!! I decided to go into this place on a whim although I've seen it several times. There were a few cupcakes in the cooler but none that I was really interested in. From my impression the menu changes because some of the cupcakes weren't available. The salesclerk recommended the one with the caramel center. So I went with that I. What I didn't like was that at the time we were entering the clerk was putting the cupcakes out and they were stored in these huge under bed containers. Since I'm a visual person it kind of turned me off. I guess I would have been happier had she taken the tray to the back and loaded the cupcakes. It just made me feel like they were old. Now that's just my opinion!!! Once I got to work I actually shared the cupcake with my coworker because it was HUGE!!! The cupcake itself was a bit to dry for my liking. It was sooo SWEET!!! I'd probably visit again but I'm a plain chick when it comes to cupcakes. I'm really not into the center fillings. But hands down this place has NOTHING on Cupcake Heaven in Haymarket!!! read more

BUYER BEWARE!! I was looking forward for the owners Alan and Robyn to do my wedding cake. Unfortunately, we postponed and eventually cancelling our wedding due to the pandemic. The owners stated we did not provide them with 90 days notice of our wedding cancellation, but how were we supposed to do that if there is a pandemic? We paid for our cake in full($800) and they are refusing to work with us, not offering to provide us with services for a future functions(ex. Future baby shower), store credit or offering a partial refund. We did not expect a full refund just wanted a compromise. They have been very nasty to us during these hard times for everyone. Please patron them at your own risk, as you have been warned and how they treat people during times like this, when the community should be working together. All my other vendors booked for our wedding has been accommodating. read more

My daughter and I sampled numerous bakeries in our area but we felt as though we had arrived when we came to this one. The cake was moist and tasty and not dry. The name is perfect because their cakes are simply incredible! read more
