We stopped here after lunch at the Lewes Oyster House. As noted in my previous review, I truly enjoy visiting this candy shop whenever I'm in the mood for something sweet. On this trip, I was on the hunt for black licorice, and they had roughly five distinct varieties available. When we inquired with the cashier about which option offered the most robust taste, she suggested trying the selections from both Australia and Finland. We decided to purchase both for nearly $9. Ultimately, the Finnish black licorice stood out as the softest and possessed the richest, strongest flavor, making it my top recommendation. I think the candy here is okay. I ordered a salted caramel a while back (my first time trying this candy shop) and it tasted the same as a salted caramel I buy at Costco. It was also very expensive, and overall I was really disappointed. Otherwise it was really cute inside and was a fun place to walk around! read more

I feel sort of bad giving this only 3 stars but his was after a really long chat with my wife. The store of a real confectioners. You do NOT go in for a kit kat or a packet of M&M's these are high end candies. The store is very quiet, serene almost with various wares displayed in jars along the walls. You bag up what you want and pay by the amount and here is where we ran into trouble. My wife said she wanted a 1/4 pound of X. The woman behind the counter said to just bag up what you want, and she'd weight it for payment. My wife had said exactly what she wanted, and they were unable/willing to do it. It could be very easy to overdo it. The other big flaw was the service. My wife was the only shopper, I stayed out of the way while she shopped, but the woman behind the counter never asked if she needed help or what she was looking for. she waited for my wife to have to ask for help and it wasn't like she was busy helping anyone else. On the scales of helpful/obsequious she failed badly. other things going wrong were, my wife admitted, a matter of taste. She went in looking for some kind of mint and they didn't have any. This is just fine tuning but in something putting itself forward as a high-end confectioner, she needs to do the tuning. read more

We stumbled upon this place as we were walking through Lewes. Such a beautiful candy shop. So much attention to detail and lovely service. We ended up getting four of their truffles (Dark chocolate, mocha, peanut butter and coconut) for $15 and they were absolutely delicious. Very cute place. It reminded me of an old-fashioned candy store with clear jars of candy lining the shelves. Great variety. I tried some chocolates/truffles filled with delicious flavors like peanut butter/honey and coconut. They were tasty and decorated with beautiful colors for Easter and others with bee-themed colors. My only criticism was that the girl just stood behind the counter not greeting anyone or asking if I needed help. I'm a big fan of good customer service. read more

Aesthetically pleasing when you walk in this store. Candy-Galore!!! Upon walking in you get a visualization of identical jars filled with different types of candies organized in color order. You get to pick as little or as much as your paper bag can hold. You get a choice of small bag or large paper bag and tools to grab the candy. I like that the store has signs asking you to hand sanitize prior to opening the jars to obtain the candies. The chocolate selection is modest but the variety is amazing! It's a cute little botique so it can get quite crowded. Overall, my daughter and I had a great time looking at all the candies. The only drawback is that the jars at the top of the shelf are difficult to get to. I didn't dare trying to get anything over the 4th shelf up. read more

Wonderful selection of candy in a beautifully laid out shop. The candy is first class and with such a huge selection very difficult to choose. My favorites are the fruit jellies which are thick cut and flavorful. The pistachio brittle is also delicious. Hand made chocolates will satisfy any sweet tooth. read more

This confections shop is such a hit! Its retro vibe harkens back to old school candy shops since the walls are lined with shelves stacked with faux glass jars color-coded by candy flavor. They have a HUGE variety of sweets to choose from and the candy is priced by the pound so you can mix and match in the provided grab bags (it's self-service with tongs and scoops). Beyond the endless jars lining the walls, there is also a large display case of specialty chocolates by the cash register. I tried the coconut truffle which was visually very attractive and classy looking. It was a generous portion with the inside chock-full of delicious coconut and chocolate ganache. The shop owner was friendly, warm, and personable. The ambiance of the store, from the bright colors to the retro feel, make it a joy to be inside. Even if you're not a candy person I would suggest stepping inside just to check out how cool they've set up the store-- truly unique! This would be a fantastic spot to grab a few thoughtful gourmet treats for a friend or for special occasion. This store is a staple to why 2nd street has such a charming personality and I would 100% recommend stopping in to patronize this local woman-owned small business and sample some of the many candies available. read more

This is the cutest sweet shop I've ever seen in my life!! Stumbled upon this gem of sweet treats after dinner down the street. Whoever designed the interior of this candy boutique should get an A++ for whimsy and creativity! The best part is (besides feeling like you are in a Willy Wonka movie!) is that everything is delicious! They have some classics but also a variety of candy I've never seen before. This is the most delicious and delightful candy store I've ever been in anywhere in the world! Seriously the quality, freshness, beauty and variety would rival any shop in Europe. We got an assortment of treats from the chocolate covered licorice to the everything malted milk balls. Toffee pretzels to curry cashews. One bite was better than the last. It's just an incredible place. If they had an online presence I would send their wares to everyone on my Christmas list and for birthdays. Not to mention for my own enjoyment. We have visited this candy shop/chocolatier many times during vacations to Lewes. It is a little over priced but we're on vacation. Our visit today was no exception. We picked out many tasty and beautiful candies and chocolates to try ourselves and to take home for family and neighbors. The lady who waited on us was so unpleasant and ungrateful for our business I felt the need to write this review. When you spend over $70 on chocolate, you (or at least I) expect it to be boxed nicely, maybe a ribbon or fancy bag - something you can give as a gift that looks nice. The woman behind the counter was not interested in presentation. She tossed all of the truffles, salted caramels, etc in a white paper bag. When I asked if she could put them in a little box she was annoyed. Upon checking out she put the purchases in the same small white paper bags she tried to use before. She gave us 4 tiny white "sacks" to carry our purchases out. I was so very disappointed. I was expecting fancy and nice. What I received was very far from it. Save your money and go somewhere else. You will not get extra touches for the inflated prices. read more
