Delicious local ice cream! We were here on vacation and saw a few Bonkey's near where we were staying. I couldn't believe how many options there were and the pricing. It was absolutely delicious. I got the pick 4 scoops - not that I needed it - but it was nice to try all the different flavors. There's sometimes a long line, just shows how good it is, but the wait wasn't too bad. There were some outdoor chairs but it was a nice summer night so we just hung out by our car. Would definitely go back here again when we visit! read more

Love Bonkeys! I always get the Grass Hopper (basically Mint Chocolate chip but better). Definitely get cinnamon roll or cake batter, those are great too! Line is always pretty long and moves slow so bring bug spray or else you'll get bit! read more

The variety of flavors they have is commendable. Everything from lemongrass basil to Cookie Monster. They truly have a flavor for everyone. A plus is they also do pup cups. Super fast service even if the line is wrapped half way around the building! Stuff here is okay but if you want a lid on your drink that is FILLED to the brim, you need to ask ahead of time or else they will actually give you the most horrible situation with your ice cream. I've came here twice and BOTH times i've had issues without lids on my drinks that were filled to the top to where i couldn't even control it spilling all over the place. Actually insanely ridiculous. The place is cute but just ignorant people who have costed me an $80 hoodie due to stains from their inability to be able to see that a cup DOES in fact need a lid. read more

I am still dreaming about the cosmic cake flavor. I can not wait to come back here just for this flavor. Imagine a really good birthday cake flavor ice cream with ooey gooey marshmallows!!! I also like how the ice cream is not as dense. This place is definitely on my list to go back to when i am in the area. My puppers also really enjoyed her soft serve with a dog treat. Menu is huge! This was my first time here and loved it. Came down to hang out at the beach with my family and this place was crowded when we went. We went around 745pm and there was so much on the menu but decided to order 2 homemade hand dipped ice creams. Staff were really nice and all wearing masks. The young girl also asked if I needed a bag since I was carrying a lot of napkins and 2 ice creams. That was really nice of her. The parking lot has no lines and lots of puddles but overall this place is a hit and cant wait to come back with my family next year. read more

Went to Bethany for the day and on the way back stopped here. A bit tucked away so a bit easy to miss. Awesome menu, so many different flavors and options a bit overwhelming. Quite a crowd for the offseason. Had my go to of a Butter Pecan with nuts and sprinkles. Great rainbow sprinkles, very large and crunchy. Fast, courteous service. Family had a great experience. If you're visiting Bethany Beach and craving ice cream or milkshake late in the evening this is the place to go! There are two locations we tried and regardless the time in the evening there will always be a line from what we experienced. We waited about 15-20 mins at each location prior to ordering our ice cream. Getting the ice cream served once ordered is like a minute tops unless you order a milkshake then it's more like 3-5 mins. It is an ice cream shop so what's not to like! The also have the most extensive snow cone menu in the area! There are two locations one is at the address on this listing. The other is behind the Ocean View Deli. If you are with a group of 4 or more head to that location, there is a lot more space to sit at that location. The menu is overwhelming! We love Bonkeys! They have delicious chocolate dipped banana, ice cream, everything! The only drawback is they have no number to reach them. So if you want to ask any questions, you can't. When you get there, the atmosphere is very "beachy" feeling. The staff is always smily and pull your orders together very quickly. Highly recommend! read more

Dropped by Bonkey's after dinner for some ice cream and was greeted by a large menu offering with a bunch of different flavors. I elected to go with four scoops in a container so I could sample a little bit of everything. One of the flavors they were out of and then another they just gave me the wrong one. Not intentional of course but a bit annoying when they write specifically on the bottom what I ordered. Service was good and quick to help keep the line moving. If you are looking for a wide variety of unique flavors, this is a good option. However, there are better spots in the area for a higher quality product. read more

I tried the pretzel cone with the butter brickle ice cream and the honeycomb ice cream.......one word YUMMERS!!! My husband had a rootbeer float (his fav) and drank it down to the suds in less than 5 minutes LOL. Our kids tried the cookie monster ice cream and LOVED it. I left this review last month. I feel the need to update!! My daughter is mildly autistic, she is a sweet and amazing 6 yr old that likes to ask questions. She doesn't fit the "obvious" stereotypes of an autistic child and people are often impatient and rude to her. The employees at Bonkeys are some of the kindest and engaging people I've ever encountered. They made my daughter feel special while eagerly answering questions and their patience was unwavering. It was refreshing and so amazing to see how much they cared. My daughter doesn't talk very much but she hasn't stopped talking about her Best Friends at Bonkeys. Thank you for that! I cannot describe how much it helped her have a positive experience and see that she is accepted and special. read more

If you're from Jersey, the best comparison would be Cliffs. There was a line on a random early evening. Surprisingly it moved quickly. They have 1 window open with 2 people taking care of you. Prices are a little on the high end: $4.50 for a small cup or small sundae. The quality and lots of fun flavors makes up for it. Worth driving away from the beach to enjoy a cold sugary refreshment. this place is super cool! outdoor seating and so many flavors. I ordered the Toasted Coconut ice cream in a sugar cone and it was so good! And the ice cream cone was so big. So sorry I didn't post a picture because it was melting down my hand and couldn't take a picture. Parking was good the only thing is when it rains there are big puddles and hard to park because if you park in a puddle you will be stepping in it when you get out of the car.
