Delicious local ice cream! We were here on vacation and saw a few Bonkey's near where we were staying. I couldn't believe how many options there were and the pricing. It was absolutely delicious. I got the pick 4 scoops - not that I needed it - but it was nice to try all the different flavors. There's sometimes a long line, just shows how good it is, but the wait wasn't too bad. There were some outdoor chairs but it was a nice summer night so we just hung out by our car. Would definitely go back here again when we visit! read more

Stop by yesterday to pick up some ice cream we ordered peach and coffee and got pecan and coffee thank God I noticed it before I gave it to a family member had a nut allergy.... just be careful before you leave to make sure you got the right one read more

Love Bonkeys! I always get the Grass Hopper (basically Mint Chocolate chip but better). Definitely get cinnamon roll or cake batter, those are great too! Line is always pretty long and moves slow so bring bug spray or else you'll get bit! read more

The variety of flavors they have is commendable. Everything from lemongrass basil to Cookie Monster. They truly have a flavor for everyone. A plus is they also do pup cups. Super fast service even if the line is wrapped half way around the building! They've got some seating but the secret is out on this place so unless you get lucky you'll likely be standing around chatting while enjoying your ice cream. 5/5 would come here again! read more

Stuff here is okay but if you want a lid on your drink that is FILLED to the brim, you need to ask ahead of time or else they will actually give you the most horrible situation with your ice cream. I've came here twice and BOTH times i've had issues without lids on my drinks that were filled to the top to where i couldn't even control it spilling all over the place. Actually insanely ridiculous. The place is cute but just ignorant people who have costed me an $80 hoodie due to stains from their inability to be able to see that a cup DOES in fact need a lid. read more

I am still dreaming about the cosmic cake flavor. I can not wait to come back here just for this flavor. Imagine a really good birthday cake flavor ice cream with ooey gooey marshmallows!!! Menu is huge! This was my first time here and loved it. Came down to hang out at the beach with my family and this place was crowded when we went. We went around 745pm and there was so much on the menu but decided to order 2 homemade hand dipped ice creams. Staff were really nice and all wearing masks. The young girl also asked if I needed a bag since I was carrying a lot of napkins and 2 ice creams. That was really nice of her. The parking lot has no lines and lots of puddles but overall this place is a hit and cant wait to come back with my family next year. read more

Went to Bethany for the day and on the way back stopped here. A bit tucked away so a bit easy to miss. Awesome menu, so many different flavors and options a bit overwhelming. Quite a crowd for the offseason. Had my go to of a Butter Pecan with nuts and sprinkles. Great rainbow sprinkles, very large and crunchy. Fast, courteous service. Family had a great experience. If you're visiting Bethany Beach and craving ice cream or milkshake late in the evening this is the place to go! There are two locations we tried and regardless the time in the evening there will always be a line from what we experienced. We waited about 15-20 mins at each location prior to ordering our ice cream. Getting the ice cream served once ordered is like a minute tops unless you order a milkshake then it's more like 3-5 mins. Superb ice cream!! I tried Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Nutella flavors so far. 2 Thumbs up!! Definitely trying more flavors each time we come here. read more

Well I don't mean to be dramatic but this is the best ice cream I've ever had. Without a doubt. Friendly staff and tons of flavors to choose from. I get Joe's Garage and it is absolutely delicious. I wish they were open during the winter but my waistline is probably thankful they aren't. Couldn't recommend Bonkey's enough! It is an ice cream shop so what's not to like! The also have the most extensive snow cone menu in the area! There are two locations one is at the address on this listing. The other is behind the Ocean View Deli. If you are with a group of 4 or more head to that location, there is a lot more space to sit at that location. The menu is overwhelming! So you might need more time to decide on what you want than most places. It's all yummy though! read more

We went here while on vacation. We had to put it on our list to try because there was a long line when we drove by, which is a good sign! I got a banana split and it was delicious! We hung out in the little side room and also took pictures with the cute murals painted on the trailer. We also got a sticker. Loved it! read more

We love Bonkeys! They have delicious chocolate dipped banana, ice cream, everything! The only drawback is they have no number to reach them. So if you want to ask any questions, you can't. When you get there, the atmosphere is very "beachy" feeling. The staff is always smily and pull your orders together very quickly. Highly recommend! read more

Dropped by Bonkey's after dinner for some ice cream and was greeted by a large menu offering with a bunch of different flavors. I elected to go with four scoops in a container so I could sample a little bit of everything. One of the flavors they were out of and then another they just gave me the wrong one. Not intentional of course but a bit annoying when they write specifically on the bottom what I ordered. Service was good and quick to help keep the line moving. If you are looking for a wide variety of unique flavors, this is a good option. However, there are better spots in the area for a higher quality product. read more

Bonkey's has EVERYTHING!!! We stopped here because we were craving ice cream and we read that this place had PRETZEL CONES!!! ummmm you had me at hello! I tried the pretzel cone with the butter brickle ice cream and the honeycomb ice cream.......one word YUMMERS!!! My husband had a rootbeer float (his fav) and drank it down to the suds in less than 5 minutes LOL. Our kids tried the cookie monster ice cream and LOVED it. Bonkey's has all the sweet treats to satisfy every sweet tooth. This place is a MUST GO if you are in the area. read more

Really, really fine selection of ice cream (homemade) and treats....and CONES (pretzel and coconut, for example) but I waited too long for my frozen banana before they even told me the chocolate dip machine needed 10 more minutes to warm up. I got chai tea ice cream instead. It was pretty good. read more

I left this review last month. I feel the need to update!! My daughter is mildly autistic, she is a sweet and amazing 6 yr old that likes to ask questions. She doesn't fit the "obvious" stereotypes of an autistic child and people are often impatient and rude to her. The employees at Bonkeys are some of the kindest and engaging people I've ever encountered. They made my daughter feel special while eagerly answering questions and their patience was unwavering. It was refreshing and so amazing to see how much they cared. My daughter doesn't talk very much but she hasn't stopped talking about her Best Friends at Bonkeys. Thank you for that! I cannot describe how much it helped her have a positive experience and see that she is accepted and special. read more

Amazing homemade icecream shakes, and snow cones served from a trailer behind Ocean View diner. There are probably 30 delicious ice creams including a few with no dairy. There are lots of toppings and cones to customize. This is my favorite home made ice cream shop. read more

this place is super cool! outdoor seating and so many flavors. I ordered the Toasted Coconut ice cream in a sugar cone and it was so good! And the ice cream cone was so big. So sorry I didn't post a picture because it was melting down my hand and couldn't take a picture. Parking was good the only thing is when it rains there are big puddles and hard to park because if you park in a puddle you will be stepping in it when you get out of the car. There is usually a line but its okay it moves fast. Came down to DE and always come to this ice cream spot, always a hit and can't wait to come back next year. read more

If you're from Jersey, the best comparison would be Cliffs. There was a line on a random early evening. Surprisingly it moved quickly. They have 1 window open with 2 people taking care of you. Prices are a little on the high end: $4.50 for a small cup or small sundae. The quality and lots of fun flavors makes up for it. Worth driving away from the beach to enjoy a cold sugary refreshment. We started over 25 years ago in the snoball business! Shacks on Belair Road, Fullerton and by the Woodlea Bakery. Also at Homestead Gardens for 10 years. Moved to Southern York County, PA, open 2 homemade ice cream shops after graduating Ice Cream Making School! Opened 2 more shops at the Delaware beaches 9 years ago. We Love our communities, our teams and our ice cream!

I had their fried chicken taco, which came with a side of hush puppies and apple sauce. The hush puppies were delish, whereas I'd say you can skip on the apple sauce and fried Mac and cheese.

Bar is always full and Jake rocks in addition to the other 2 female bartenders. Morgan is a delight if you get her as your waitress you won't be disappointed. This is a busy place so exercise patience especially if there happens to be a popular sports game on, way too many TV's to count. Everyone is very friendly. Happy hour is always hopping and they are one of the very few places in the area that are open late. Ambience is better than other sports bars in the area right down to the linen napkins. I love Hooked Up and can't say enough great things about it. It's my go to bar/restaurant in the area and always consistent. The only con (could be 5 stars) is the entertainment, 90% of the time they suck and are super loud, so loud you can't understand what the singer is even saying and don't plan on having a conversation). I'm so happy they stop playing at 8pm but otherwise just go, you'll love it, not your typical sports bar!

We even gave the request to the busboy to make sure it got in on time. Our server didn't bother showing up until two minutes after six, then told us it was too late. This is ridiculous. We made every effort to order before the cutoff, but because of your server's timing, we got penalized. The manager stated the computer cuts off happy hour at 6 sharp ? You need to fix this policy -- it's unfair to customers and just bad business. Very disappointed."

They specialize in snowballs - I've never heard of them before, maybe they're the same as shave ice or Italian ice? We were in the mood for traditional ice cream, so I ordered a small cup of pumpkin with chocolate. Sorry, the girl said - only one flavor per small cup. So I stuck with pumpkin. It was very good and it was at least two scoops so really there's no reason they couldn't make one of the scoops another flavor. Others in my party had vanilla with hot fudge and a concoction called pretzel salad. It was different & good! Pretzels were soggy though, too bad they didn't sprinkle them on top or add them with each order so they stayed crunchy. Anyway, we liked the interesting flavors.

As you can see from my menu pic they offer the widest selection of ice cream flavors, including some rare and unusual flavors. On my first visit I enjoyed salted caramel in a waffle cone. On my second visit I enjoyed pralines and cream in a waffle cone. There are lots of staff working at Bonkey's, therefore the wait line moves very effectively. Both flavors were acceptable, but I subsequently found two other farm fresh ice creams in Ocean View and Bethany Beach. The advantage of Bonkey's is the widest variety of ice cream flavors. The waffle cones here are also very fresh. I hate stale or soggy cones. My total bill was $41 on my most recent visit excluding cash gratuity.
