Going on our 3rd summer with Edison heating and cooling are so happy we switched from Gold Medal... and the testing of the AC unit for cool air has worked fine since the first time we had to call Edison Heating out! GOLD MEDAL sold me on a wasted, three-year membership and after replacing parts the first year had to keep coming out due to our AC test every spring, which would blow out warm air. They said we had to replace the whole unit after changing parts that cost over $2000 and said all they could do was add Freon each summer until we replaced the whole unit... Edison a heating and Cooling thank you for being honest and fair! I very rarely give five stars but they have definitely earned this one! read more

My furnace was not working so I called and made an appointment. The so called technician showed up and had no idea of what to do. He called the shop, packed up his tools and left! All he said was " Someone else worked on this furnace before, I'm not touching it." Hilarious! No shit Sherlock, the furnace is 15 years old and he was 30. What a waste of time. This place is rough around the edges. Be prepared to work for them after install or looking for quotes for upgrades. Sometimes they will have good deals but definitely few and far between. Always get multiple quotes, which for me means at least 5. Good luck all. read more

called for a boiler repair. i knew it was the low water cutoff as it was buzzing. tech came. I told him of the problem. he went to purchase a unit. came back and installed it no problem. said they would bill me. boy, did they ever. charged me 400 to install a 150 part. and added a diagnostic fee of 170 after I diagnosed the problem. took the tech 20 minutes. so, when all is said and done, I was charged 580 to replace a 150 dollar part in 30 minutes. i will not be calling them back. read more

I changed the air conditioner and humidifier, but when I turn on the air conditioner, the basement turns into a sea of water. I really don't want to recommend this place. Also, I came to see the quote and was disappointed that they charged about $350 in less than an hour. read more

Two weeks ago, during a very hot heat wave, my husband and I experienced an air conditioning problem where the unit we had was not blowing cold air. Granted, we had an older unit, but we tried to only refresh the freon to this unit and realized that it was time to get a new a/c. Yes, we inevitably needed a new unit, which we expected. Edison Heating and Cooling were of utmost professional and very informative with my husband during the ordering process and during the installation. After installation they described the new thermostat and its functions. We could not have been more pleased with their family run business. We have received texts and phone calls checking on our new air conditioner. All is running well and we are very happy. Edison Heating and Cooling is too independent. They don't cater to their customers and won't send a tech that I had a very good experience with. Instead they sent someone who did a miserable job. Find another HVAC company. read more

First, they don't tell me the full diagnostic cost, when the technician arrived, I was told that the quote I got for diagnostic was only for one unit, and the fact I had two floors in my house, it would be double the cost to diagnose what and where the problem is. Secondly, they diagnosed one unit for the 2nd floor and said the compressor is broken, I should either repair or replace it. I was sold on replacing it because the cost of repair is almost the same as replacement. Thirdly, I replaced the entire HVAC, only to find out that it made no difference to my problem and that my 2nd floor still not cooling. A different technician came to diagnose and said that I needed a new blower motor. I spent 8K on replacing a new HVAC for nothing. Edison Heating and Cooling was just trying to make money by deceiving me. I would not hire them. As a rule of thumb, trust Yelp reviews more than Google reviews. read more

Brian Weber was the rep who came and gave us options on a new furnace and hot water tank in the small space we have. Very responsive and took time to answer my questions. Was able to get the installation to happen quickly in November when it was starting to get cold. Not long after the installation we noticed water and he immediately sent someone to make sure everything was okay, no issues. Fast forward a few months, we spotted water from baseboard going outside the house. To be clear, this is unrelated to their work, but due to old pipes from old home. Brian again picked up the phone when I called the first time and stayed on to walk me through what to do and look out for. He viewed the photo I texted, and set up an appointment the next day. All 4 different staff that came on 3 occasions were friendly and professionals. The pricing is upfront, no hidden charges. Highly recommended. read more

We just had Edison Heating & Cooling replace our heating and air conditioning unit. The blower finally gave out on our heater the units were over 25 years old and were in need of replacement. The unit was in our addition and was in the attic. They were able to replace both units in less than a day. Their employees were very careful not to dirty the house since the unit had to be carried through the house to get to the attic. The same was true with the removal of the old unit. The team that did the replacement was very courteous and kept us apprised of the progress through out the day. The price was fair and I would definitively recommend them without reservations. read more

My mother, who is in her 80s, called Edison to ask what the "Air Cleaning " message on the temperature monitor meant. Rather than explaining it to her over the phone, Edison sent over someone who explained it to her in person. That 30-second conversation was called a "diagnostic" for which she was charged $75 bucks! If Edison had told her beforehand that they were going to charge her so much to answer a question, she never would have asked it. That level of customer service for someone who has been a client for over 40 years is inexcusable. read more

Horrendous experience dealing with Jordan Lutz. He refused to provide me with a quote even when I followed up with him. I had a technician who was trying to fix my A/C who said you need to call someone to replace this and that's why I called Edison HVAC. The technician ran late and Jordan used slang / profanity when saying he didn't want to speak with me while someone else was there. I offered the reschedule if it bothered him so much but that technician wasn't bothering us and was minding his own business. Jordan said whatever I'm already here. He is very condescending has a huge attitude problem and when I asked for the quote the next day he refused to give it to me. I called the customer service line to see if someone can provide me a quote or follow up with Jordan and no one did. Poor management and customer service all around. Bottom line, there were plenty of other HVAC contractors that came after Jordan who were professional knowledgeable and helpful. With so many HVAC contractor options why give your business to Jordan Lutz and Edison HVAC? read more

Fantastic , 5 star worthy service. So far have the yearly plan where they come for maintenance and service work. Each time that they have come they've been super nice, friendly, intelligent, and helpful. Highly recommend for your heating and cooling needs, definitely over PSeG. They got us a quote quickly and were out the next day. Ecliffe and Jason K came out and took our old heater out and installed a new one in a matter of hours. The water heater works great. Not bad but not good. He promised he would get back with a quote in two days. It was 3 months ago. They never got back to me. Thus far experience with Edison heating and cooling has been a good one. The salesman Mike Fore Was personable, knowledgeable and not too pushy. The installers Jordan and AJ were fantastic. They worked very well together. They were very professional and left the house exactly like they found it. So far all our interaction has been wonderful... For a week I've been living with no heat so it was obviously a discomfort to me. I've had several HVAC installation companies here and Edison seemed like a good enough price. I wanted to take time to be sure I had other estimates and asked all of my questions. The salesman that came to my home was initially nice. When I had questions however, things got strange. I would ask 3 questions via email or text, and he would answer one. I then had to ask those questions again and often add another. Again, I would not get answers or even acknowledgement to the majority of my questions. In the meantime, it is very cold in my house. I would mention something as an alternative, wanting only a general dollar difference, and he would do a formal proposal. Being asked the same questions again and again because of his not addressing them and writing up long proposals that weren't necessary seemed to have gotten him angry. I finally asked him to tell me about parts problems that I heard about for the HVAC system they were going to install. There were several easy answers including that they stock parts for the majority of normal problems. Instead he got nasty and basically told me that if I was going to listen to other people, then to take my business elsewhere. Not a problem as I did and am very happy with who did the work and the system. All in all, I hit on questions that he was unwilling to answer, couldn't answer, or he didn't think it worth the effort for the sale. To me, if you won't answer questions before I make a $10,000 to $23,000 purchase, you are hiding something. They just want customers who blindly believe all they say, and buys from them without question. Very sketchy! read more

I'm very disappointed. I'm their customers for years and I have a maintenance contract with them for A/C. I also have my water heater replaced by them. The weekend I had some problem with my heater and I called them to send someone to fix. The person on the phone checked my info and told me that my warranty is over and cannot send anyone before Thursday. I told him I'm their customer, but it didn't work. He told me they were busy with other customers issues because outside is 90 degrees, busy with them and couldn't help. (When I got my heater I asked them either I need a maintenance contract, they told me not needed.) For them you are good customer, because you have contract and they come and make maintenance (!) In 10 minutes and say all is ok. Yes, you're good customer. But when you really need them, money talks. Think twice. Loyalty is BS for them. I'm not happy and looking for other options to move my maintenance contract to some other authorize partner. read more

They installed a new AC unit for me and as soon as the installation was complete suddenly my heating unit inducer started malfunctioning, and they quoted an additional $1,300 to fix that. They are unwilling to take responsibility for poor workmanship. When I proposed to get 2nd opinion regarding their workmanship from another certified installer they refused to accept that either. I guess they wanted to extract an additional $1,300 from me. Don't be surprised if something else breaks after they are done with your installation!!! read more

Edison came to install two AC units and a 75 gallon water heater...standard job from 7:30-4 I was told...it's 9:30pm my house is full of dirt and debris they are just finishing up! I had to instruct the staff who has horrible attitudes to respect my home and clean up after themselves. I will not be disrespected by and taken advantage of by this company. In addition the Sales person is non-responsive when I have a concern. The owner will have one opportunity to address before I take legal action against this organization. Learn to be client centric if you want to compete with first class organizations. read more

THIS PLACE LITERALLY RIPPED ME OFF. I began to give this place 3 stars just for the technician because he was nice at first, but I'm not satisfied with what I was charged for at all. Had this company come out for a tune up of my old system. First time since we have purchased the home (2 years). He came checked so far only issue is replacing filter which they asked if I want but Ofcourse for an additional fee. I declined. Next step was him plugging into system. Says all my levels are great nothing needs to be added or anything. Gets up and is ready to go and charge me $154 plus tax for a non existent tune up. YOU GUYS SHOULD NOT BE CHARGING ANYONE $154 plus tax when a full tune up was not preformed. So I called the company Ofcourse and spoke to the service department. The lady who works back there tells me that, that is all that is included in a tune up and that, that was the tune up all though nothing was done. Only inspected. I asked about the cleaning and stuff they mention in the description on their site she tells me that's all for additional fee. YOU HAVE TO BE F***ing KIDDING ME. and when I told her I was not satisfied and would not use the company anymore she simply said OK. No resolution no nothing. SO BEWARE because never again will I use this company. You should have a fee for inspection only. Not full service price when the full service was not provided. Just to add onto this review right before the technician left and after charging me I was able to review the full report of his "work" on my unit. I asked him about the cleaning which he put on my report that he supposedly did. He then said yes I can clean it and proceeded to clean my unit but if I would not have mentioned anything he would have simply left. A lot of what was put into my report was falsified. And Megan from the service department needs a talking to because her customer service skills are weak. You guys need to explain on your page exactly what is included in the tune up because it's all BS. Megan herself tried to tell us that the cleaning of the unit is just removing debris from around it! I am mind blown by this place and not in a good way. read more

We've used Edison Heating and Cooling to replace our central air system as well as put in a new hot water heater. For both projects, Ryane was our sales rep. He was very professional and punctual both times and explained our options clearly and confidently. I appreciated that he would come with literature about the systems they sell so that we could have all the information we needed to compare options and make a decision. The sales process was smooth and they were very competitive on their pricing compared to other quotes that we got - many of which who were selling less efficient or inferior products. The company as a whole is easy to work with because they always answer the phone, are quick to get back to you and are straight forward and up front. The installs both were smooth. Their installers are clearly experienced and are efficient. They do not leave behind any messes and ensure things are working as expected. After our hot water heater install, I noticed an issue shortly after they left and they were back within 30 min to resolve it. They even sent out a supervisor from the service department to triple check just to be safe later on in the day. I was extremely happy with the follow through. Its been a few years since we got the A/C installed, and 10 months for the hot water heater and have had no issues. We also have been using Edison for our annual maintenance on the central air and heating systems. Those service techs are also just as professional. They are extremely thorough and you feel like you're actually getting your money's worth for the service. I like that everything is electronic and that I can pay with credit card right on their tablet and get a receipt emailed to me. I wish all contractors did this. read more

I had a furnace that was about 18 years old and needed replacing. Of course, it worked just fine until the weather got cold and then it would not heat at all. Since it was around 30 degrees outside, it was 50 degrees in my house. I sent an inquiry through their online portal and someone responded immediately to make a service appointment. The repairman was very nice and knowledgeable and replaced a part to try to get the furnace running right away. Unfortunately the furnace was at the end of its rope. Not only did Edison HVAC credit me for what they charged for the initial repair, they had a team come out the following day to put in a new furnace, and i spent WAY LESS money than I anticipated. I would definitely recommend Edison HVAC and will have them service my heating and cooling going forward. My emergency became their emergency and I really appreciate their promptness and professionalism. I was really stressed out because I have kids and animals in the house and we were all sharing a room with a space heater. The new furnace works perfectly. Highly recommend! read more

After a brief assessment, they found the problem, and gave us space heaters until we were back up and running. In reviewing our options, they didn't try to up sell us or put on pressure. Contacted Edison Heating & Cooling for a whole house generator install. They replied promptly to schedule a walkthrough for an estimate of the job. Very professional and courteous which gave me high hopes for an honest and efficient installation. After agreeing a contract and paying a $5000 deposit, I was looking forward to getting the work done understanding the process required permits and scheduling of inspections, etc. In the midst of that process, I received an invoice from PS&G referencing Edison for an additional $1,130+ in cost which I contacted Edison about. After chasing down PSE&G, Edison confirmed that the cost was for an upgraded meter (meter!!!) despite confirming that I already had a high pressure/capacity gas line in place. As I had not expected this additional expense and this policy seemed new to Edison, they offered a refund of my deposit if I chose not to proceed ahead. Not knowing how long it would take to deal with PSE&G on the gas meter issue I decided to take the refund. In the end, as we did not see through the generator install, I can't rate Edison's actual service. My rating does try to reflect the mix of a positive experience in the initial assessment/contract but also disappointment that this policy caught us all by surprise. While Edison can't control any of PSE&G's policies, these factors impact their business and I would hope they have a close enough relationship with utility companies to know about these policies or changes. read more

My AC was leaking through my upstairs ceiling. Called Edison cooling and met with a service rep who explained that I had multiple cracks in the pan under my handler. After discussing my choices with a sales rep we decided the best course or action was replacing the pan. I had an appointment for 8 AM this past Friday. Matt pulled up in his truck at 7:45 ! He came in and explained exactly what was happening and what he was going to do. Shortly afterward he was joined by Joe. These men were in and out of my house at least 15 times, each time putting the covers on their shoes as they entered the house. They were professional, polite and immaculate. At one point they were outside for a bit and Matt came In to explain why they were outside. Believe me there was no goofing off. When they were through Matt brought me up to the attic and showed me what they had done. He Explained how the new safety valves work and what I should look for. I have been cool and comfortable all weekend. I have used Edison cooling for about 6 years and I will never use anyone else. read more

I also received quotes from three other companies and they did not come anywhere close to the cost that Dan offered. I scheduled to have my AC unit replaced and like clockwork the two installers came to work on my unit. Mike D & Dennis C made sure to place drop cloths throughout my home, as not to tracking dirt, and made sure to clean up before they left.
