Edit is a place I genuinely want to see succeed, and there is so much here that's done really well. I've been multiple times now, including Mother's Day, a date night with my husband, and most recently with my neighborhood girlfriends for an early Galentine's celebration. The atmosphere is consistently one of its biggest strengths. It's cozy, warm, stylish, and inviting, the kind of place that feels like a true local hangout. The cocktails are out of this world, the wine flights are excellent, and the space itself feels special for Hendersonville. It's also helpful to understand the concept behind the food. Edit does not have a traditional kitchen. The menu is prepared offsite each morning in a commissary kitchen and delivered fresh, with select items reheated behind the bar. When it works, it really works. You would never guess that the fondue with caramelized onions, gruyere, and black truffle starts cold. It comes out melty, rich, and delicious. The whipped feta is another standout and honestly lives rent free in my mind. Where things have been more hit or miss is execution. Across visits, there's almost always one or two things that keep the experience from feeling truly five star. Sometimes a dish isn't heated through quite enough, sometimes service pacing is slower than expected, and occasionally both happen on the same visit. You can tell a lot of care goes into preparing the food earlier in the day, which makes it frustrating when it doesn't quite land as intended once served. Service has also varied depending on the night. There's a strong sense of community here, and it's clear that many locals are regulars who know the staff well. That can be really lovely, but at times it has felt a bit distracting, especially when long conversations behind the bar slow down drinks or food for table guests. On one visit, delays were significant enough that my husband and I decided to close out early and eat elsewhere. On other visits, including our most recent one, the experience was overall enjoyable but still a little uneven. That said, the vision behind Edit is compelling. Getting to hear the story behind the restaurant and the intention to raise the bar in Hendersonville made me root for it even more. You can feel the passion, creativity, and desire to build something special here. I'm giving four stars because I genuinely think Edit is amazing, but every time I've gone there have been a few things that keep it from feeling like a true five star experience. These feel like very fixable, foundational issues, and if they were tightened up, this would easily be a five star spot in a heartbeat. I plan on continuing to come back, because my hope is that each visit gets closer to that mark, and the moment it does, I'll gladly update this to five stars. If you're on the fence about trying it, definitely go. And if you're just stopping in for a drink, absolutely do it. The cocktails are exceptional, the wine flights are fun, and some of the appetizers are truly memorable. Just plan for a relaxed pace and enjoy your time there. We stumbled upon this spot while heading to another restaurant nearby and decided to give it a try--and we're glad we did. The space is beautiful, clean, and open, making it perfect for a date. At first glance, it looks like a stylish coffee shop with high-end espresso machines, but it also has a full bar and gorgeous décor. It was surprisingly quiet for a Saturday night, which made us a little hesitant, but the service quickly won us over. The bartender and waiter were both friendly and attentive. We ordered both the beef and chicken sliders, plus two cocktails--the Common Problems (gin-based) and the Jungle Bird. The drinks were excellent, especially the gin cocktail--botanical forward. So good! The chicken slider was flavorful with a great coleslaw, but the beef slider tasted like frozen sliced meat on a nicely toasted bun--good, but nothing special. The standout dish was the roasted carrots with whipped feta, hot honey and pistachios--absolutely delicious and apparently not ordered often. Y'all better order those carrots! This is a wonderful hidden gem in Hendersonville! It's very unassuming from the outside, but when you walk in it's so vibey! We just went for cocktails, which were delicious and unique! Edit is a great addition to Hendersonville. The drinks are unlinke any others, made from great ingredients and thoughtful mixers. Best of all they're delicious. The ambiance is a kind of upscale tiki bar. Since they've started offering food it makes it easier to include Edit in your nightly plans. Try out the butter candle with warm bread. Delicious and fun. Visiting Tennessee for the first time and this is the first restaurant/bar I visited. Really sad to have to leave a one star review because the place looks so cool and nice on the inside but the bartenders have really bad attitudes and were incredibly rude to me and my family. They pretended not to hear us, gave us lukewarm coffees and then when we asked to have our coffees hot the bartender acted like it was our faults and threw a fit. Bottom line is We felt very unwelcome from the very beginning. This place is over priced and over rated. Went in for drinks a few weeks back and the drinks were very expensive and only about 8oz. I just saw they now make frozen drinks and my wife would love that but unfortunately we won't go back to pay their prices. Went in for breakfast burritos and I ask for no cheese. They are not made to order. They are already premade and wrapped in foil. Then reheated. The burrito was $13!!! $13 and it was a tiny burrito, made with 1 egg. Possibly 2 but seriously doubt it. I know the rent must be high, but maybe if prices were a little lower they would get more business. read more

My 3 stars is really stretching it. I try to be complimentary - I really do. After reading the other good reviews, I went in with pretty high hopes. They were dashed quickly. Folks, it's a strip mall restaurant. Nothing fancy. But... I really expected the food to be 5 star (again, after reading the reviews) Ordered a $14 glass of Malbec, peeked at the one-page menu, and wondered... where the ENTREES were!?! I ordered the Polynesian Crunch, inspired by all the suggestions above. To my surprise, it came out immediately. Yes, IMMEDIATELY... in a to-go plastic bowl with a lid, ala Chik Fil-A, and Ice cold (signaling it had been made this morning), along with a plastic spoon, knife and fork combo in a plastic bag (yes, just like Wendy's). I'm thinking, "This is a high-end fast food joint, at 3 times the price". Now. In all honesty, the "crunch" was delicious, once I added the dressing... from the to-go plastic Chik-Fil-A cup. Are you getting the picture? The wait staff was friendly. They really were. But they better be, because chances are this place will be gone from this high dollar strip mall within a year. We arrived at 10:38pm on a Saturday night on 10/28/2023. We are told they are sorry, but they're closing early due to staffing issues.. I can understand if you would be closing in 20 to 30 minutes, but the website says you're open until 12:00Pm. It's Saturday night, fast food restaurants and steakhouses are open at this time. A 30 minute drive wasted. No need to respond with an apology saying if you will give us another chance, this is Nashville Tennessee. this is my second and last visit to edit. The first visit was OK and coffee was OK. Service was slow but I figured it's a small, independently owned establishment and it was post Covid. The second time was today. I walked in a little before 9 AM and no one was there. When the manager or staff member came out, they look shocked to see me. Turns out that they're not open. when I asked what time they open, she said 10 AM. For a coffee shop open at 10 AM is fairly bizarre but OK. Then as I apparently needed to leave until they opened at 10, she said. " we changed our hours sometime ago." well online does not reflect their new hours and just with the rude treatment, that's my last visit there. read more

I am like everyone else on this review. I want to like this place too. I went there today with my three dogs and sat outside because I know I shouldn't go inside with three dogs. I was alone so I figured they would notice that I was there because it's not a particularly large place and I had three dogs, which kind of made a stand out. No one waited on me after sitting about 15 minutes. I got up and left. I wanted to have a nice drink because I am very stressed about my upcoming move and we were showing the house. Personally, I chose an espresso martini & the Polynesian crunch bowl... both so delicious! The espresso martini was crafted perfectly, and the Polynesian crunch bowl had such delicious blend of flavors, I ate EVERY BITE! It really is a shame how pathetic the service is at this place because the ambiance inside is fantastic and the drinks are great, if you're lucky enough to get one. Drinks are also on the expensive side - paying Nashville prices in Hendersonville. But there's not many other cocktail bars up here so it's fine. My fiancé and I have been multiple times, thinking service will be improved. Spoiler alert: it never is. Each time we have gone it takes a minimum of 10-15 minutes to even be approached and acknowledged by a member of the waitstaff. And you better order everything you might want the first time you see her because she will not be around much the rest of the night. When we went this past Friday, we saw our waitress three times - to bring our menu, to take our order, and to bring us our drinks. We were there for over an hour! I eventually had to go up to the bar and ask for our check and we ended up taking our business to another place in the same shopping center. But again, Edit is a great place for cocktails. Drinks and vibes are top notch. Just be warned that if you go and sit anywhere other than at the bar you'll be in for a long wait and an expensive check. It is sad that the owners continue to allow their employees to ruin what could be an excellent spot. read more

Drink quality is pretty inconsistent. I have gotten the Common Problems and Murder Points multiple times and they have always varied in taste and quality depending on who makes it. I feel like there's always different/new staff here, but they've are all usually lovely people. Cocktail inconsistency looks like it stems from lack of training on making the drinks, and basic bartending knowledge. I do think with the amount of turnover that happens here, there must be something pretty wrong with the owners to make so many people leave within the span of the one year that this place has been open. I've had a couple interactions with Jon, and I must say I've been rather unimpressed. Being a consultant doesn't make you a bartender. Part of owning a business should also be taking constructive criticism and owning up to where the business is lacking, and then looking for ways to improve, and acting on it. After reading the mixed reviews I figured we needed to try Edit for ourselves. Well we left scratching our heads. I like the ambience and it comes across as a nice cocktail bar. We ordered cocktails at $14 dollars each, my wife asked for a splash of ginger ale or sprite in hers and we were told we would be charged for a full can to add a splash. Really? I thought you were a cocktail bar that would have mixers for your cocktails. Then we decided to order food, as mentioned before there is not a kitchen just small ovens to re heat already prepared food. Service was friendly and met expectations.
