This was our first stop on the road trip and were there on a Tue around 7:30 pm. Lots of free parking and there was no line when we entered the restaurant. We ordered the ribs and brisket platter, which was listed as $24 on the menu and added the jalapeño cheddar hot link for $5 on the menu, yet we were charged for $29.50. The cashier said she didn't know why nor rectified the error. We got our food in about 10 minutes. However, once we got back to the hotel, the food was quite disappointing. The ribs were hard, dry and flavorless. Despite asking for marbled brisket, it was extremely lean which was unfortunate. They also didn't include any pickles or onions, which you usually get with barbecue in the South. Overall, it wasn't really our cup of tea. We're glad we tried it, but we don't plan on returning, even if we were in the area again.

Brisket sandwich, fries and corn bread.

Friendly service. Brisket sandwich was delicious but could stand to be hotter, baked beans were good and so were the fries. Very nice decor. Little expensive for what you get. Would also like a little more selection of bbq sauce.

Wings special $1 each! They were huge!

We didn't enjoy our first visit as much and only come to EVille about once a month. Tonight I wanted wings and decided to try again based on reviews. SO GLAD we did! Tonight's special was $1 wings and they were big, juicy and so full of flavor! I also tried the grits and my husband had beans. Both were good.

Smoked Wings - 8 Piece Green Beans Macaroni and cheese Cornbread

The atmosphere here is nice. There is a walk up window to order and then they will bring your meal out to you. I feel like my experience would've been a little better if we had went earlier in the day - as they were out of a lot of the items we wanted to try. I settled on the wings which were flavorful and crispy. The Mac and cheese and other sides left more to be desired they were a little less on the flavor side. The cornbread was okay. It has peppers in it which I wasn't the biggest fan of. My friend ordered us fried pickles and either they were burnt or the grease was old - a bit dark for our liking. On a positive note their banana pudding dessert was delicious ! Will definitely try again on a lunch instead.

This place has a typical rustic look. You know it is a barbecue restaurant. The service was very good. The food was tasty. I had a brisket. It was good but could have been more tender. The wings were delicious. My coworkers enjoyed their meal as well. But my coworkers went back. One got the wings again. She was very disappointed. This time they were overcooked. But they day we all went they were great.

Unfortunately we went late Sunday night so they were out of a lot of items but! That encouraged me to try something different. We still received great food and good service. This is my boyfriends favorite bbq restaurant and we've never had a bad experience.

Kids meal bbq sandwich w mac-n-cheese

Went here again today. Brisket is amazing! Green beans are good also. The kids meal is only $4.50 and it was a nice sized sandwich. The service is always great. Everyone is efficient and friendly. The music is always good country music. Highly recommend this place. Rare I think the food is worth the money anymore but here, it is.

Turkey Platter with Bean Salad and Mac and Cheese

My first time trying Edley's was over five years ago in Nashville, Tennessee. I was super excited when the O'Fallon, Illinois location opened up! I've been to the O'Fallon location a couple times now, but I was in the Edwardsville area and decided to give this location a try. Once again, I'm very impressed. Edley's has never let me down! The interior was super clean and inviting. We placed our order at the counter, picked a table, and enjoyed our food in a very timely manner. They have an expansive menu, especially with their wide variety of sides. I absolutely love the bean salad and the mac and cheese for sides. My favorite entree is the turkey platter. When the employee brought my food out, he explained to me that he highly prioritizes the presentation of the food, and he apologized that my turkey wasn't looking exactly how he wanted it to because it kept falling apart as he arranged it. To be completely honest, I totally wouldn't have noticed any differences, but the fact that he was so personable and took the time to check in really meant a lot! I'm not a huge BBQ lover, but even I really enjoy Edley's. Even my partner who is from Kansas City and grew up with KC BBQ completely approves of this place!

Hot chicken sandwich with grits casserole and Mac and cheese

Finally got to check this place out as it is still considered new in my town. Menu kind of seemed limited, and the bartender (who waited on me) said they were out of a lot of things. Even most sodas. But I know better to hold anything like that against a new independent business. I got the hot chicken platter with two sides. Went with the mac and cheese (which was I believe a dollar or two extra) and grits casserole. Portions seemed small, but I was still full when I walked out. Sandwich was pretty good. Would love to try some of their other meats. Be aware that they do not serve french fries of any kind...not even sweet potatoes. They heavily advertise their alcohol selection, mostly consisting of craft brews. I was kinda shocked they did not have non-Coke or Pepsi sodas there but everything can't be perfect. I'll be back in the future.

Fat Elvis on draft!!!

We really enjoyed the food at Edley's. While I never judge BBQ too harshly, this is a fine addition to the Edwardsville area dining options. And... the bar had Four Hands brewing Fat Elvis in draft!

Barbecue is average to below average at best. I really wanted to like this place, but I wasn't overly impressed. I'm not hard to please.

Edley's BBQ is pretty good and the location/ambiance really good for a BBQ joint. Sometimes, you have to wait a long time for your food.

We were greeted by a lovely young lady working the register who took our order and we sat down at our assigned table. We were quickly served our drinks and waited for our overly large order (we wanted to try lots of things). The ribs were delicious. Just enough smoke (this is not Texas BBQ) and so juicy. My husband's pulled pork was very good and thankfully did not come sauced already. The turkey very moist and tender and flavorful. Yum. The burnt ends were a little dry, but can be forgiven because it was near the end of the night. We were checked on frequently, drinks refilled. Then we had the opportunity to meet Susan, the owner. If you don't know Susan was a competition BBQ'r for many years before opening her restaurant with her husband and you can see all her trophies and ribbons in the room She graciously bought us some bread pudding and gave me a little secret about it! If you think this is anything other than spectacular there is something wrong with your pallet. We have eaten around the world in some very high end restaurants and that gave us as much satisfaction and joy as many a dessert. Delicious. My husband was trying to be good but sadly had to finish the lot Lovely experience, delicious BBQ. Not as smoky as Texas which is what we are more familiar with but we enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully we get to stop in again.

The burnt ends were the star of the show, so juicy! My brisket was a tad dry. They also put the sauce in the fridge so it's cold, but there might not be a way to avoid that food-safety wise. Their wings are also really good. The mac-n-cheese side is good. You order at the counter and they give you a number and bring your food out to you. The only other thing I don't love is there's two rooms, the main room and a room off to the side, and especially if you are in the side room, it feels like you are crammed in there with a ton of other people and sometimes it gets really loud. When it's nice enough, we prefer to sit outside as they have a few picnic benches off to the side that are covered.

Even though I am thrilled to have one on the IL side of the river, it's a half hour drive to enjoy. The other day I was running errands and shopping in Edwardsville. I made it a point to do it around the lunch hour, so I could enjoy an calzone. I ordered at the counter as you do and lucky for me, the cashier was patient with me. As I ordered, I kept reading the menu and changed my mind two times and finally stayed with my third choice. Having a love of jalapeños, Pancho Villa was my final choice. Pancho Villa not only gave my fresh jalapeños, it was also filled with red peppers, smoked cheddar, Mozzarella and the meat was Chorizo prepared in Smoked Chili Oil. Yum-Yum and no heartburn. For dipping or spreading on top, I was given a cup of Queso. One nice thing about SOTS, is they offer adult beverages. They have an excellent selection of local craft beers and wines to pair with your calzone. I paired mine with, Pale Ale from Schlafly. The dining room is clean and crisp. It's done in an industrial style. They have regular tables and a few hightop tables, so you can choose which one is best for you. On the tables you'll find linen napkins with reusable flatware. If you can eat an entire calzone, I am impressed. For those of us who cannot, next to the soda machine is a stack of eco-friendly to-go boxes to put your leftovers in, to take home.

When I saw they had hot honey and pepperoni paired together on a 8" pizza, I instantly knew that was one of my choices. The outer rim crust was very crispy, but the inner was soft and limp due to the excessive grease from the flavorful pepperoni. I guess that is something I just need to deal with for a tasty lunch pizza. My other choice was, the Apple Gorgonzola Salad. Wow. Double Wow! This has to be the best salad I have ever had. It was a delightful mix of, spinach, granny smith apple, gorgonzola, sun-dried cranberries, candied pecans, all topped with a delicious maple cider vinaigrette. I will be back for the large version and a glass of Pino Grigio as a dinner. As my usual, I sat at the bar. My adult beverage of choice, was a Peel Summer Lager. I may be going back to fill my growler, for the upcoming holiday weekend. The restaurant has a contemporary feel, but the acoustics make it a loud environment. I didn't mind the laughter and loud conversations, it was the yelling and crying toddlers that made me cringe. Service was friendly and attentive. I enjoyed watching the bartenders use their mixologist skills preparing all the cocktails. It pleased me to see they offer "hooks under the bar". That's a small detail that makes me smile.

It's one of a very few places in the area that isn't a chain, isn't just burgers and pizza, and also isn't pretentious or overpriced. The service is always friendly and knowledgeable. We've been there at least ten times and only once was the service slow. It was an anomaly because they're usually really on top of things. Ambiance is a friendly, but upscaled downtown cafe/bar place that is perfect for taking out-of-towners or a fun brunch with the ladies. (They have a separate brunch menu on Saturdays!) I don't drink, so I can't comment on their drink selections. I'm taking away a star because the parking situation is annoying, especially during construction. There is street parking or a huge parking lot in the back. However, the back parking lot is a terrible hodgepodge of concrete and asphalt and a gazillion potholes and no super clear direction on how to get to the restaurant. Some signage would go a long way in helping customers to not only find parking, but once parked, to them navigate back to the little crevice where the back door is located. The back porch is located behind a larger portion of the structure and you can't see it from the parking lot. Additionally, if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues, it's next-to-impossible to park near enough to the door to make a difference. The handicapped parking spots are 40 yards away from the back door. All that said, we will def go back because there's nothing else like it in the area.
