Front end service was very nice and knowledgeable. Once seated and waiting for delivery, we were immediately greeted by a friendly staff asking how many plates we would like, then a chef came from the kitchen to inform us the Mac and cheese would be a short wait which we were fine with. It was delivered very shortly after the main delivery of our food, so no issues there. Had the pulled pork, brisket, sausage, and ribs, all AMAZING! Regular bbq sauce had a great taste, so we asked if they had anything with an extra "kick"? A gentlemen by the name of CHUCK delivered a different bbq sauce and boy did that change the game in the best way!! Chuck had an extreme positive vibe, infectious smile, and stopped by to keep checking on us and even chatted further offering more specialties and information of the restaurant offerings and he also gave us some great pointers of the local area! Let me start by saying the food was amazing! This place has a rustic vibe, a lot of wood features. Nice ambience to chill and watch one of the several TVs that are around the bar and restaurant. Not romantic date vibes, but nice enough for a chill date (assuming BBQ, Whiskey, and Sports are shared interests) but also great for groups, families, happy hour, etc. The young lady who took our order was extremely helpful. Letting us know what sides had pork (way too many of them in my opinion), recommending options that don't. (The coleslaw was delicious, the Mac and Cheese was a pleasant surprise, but don't expect anyone's grandma's Mac to show up here. Also banana pudding was a side! Where was this place when I was a kid!) They never did get the sweet tea replenished while I was there so I had to struggle through with whiskey and lemonade! (This was a joke, I was perfectly content, with these choices.) I also really enjoyed the pecan pie! Now to the heart of the matter, the BBQ. I had the brisket. It was tender and delicious! Loved Edley's BBQ on Lebanon Pike and decided to try this location and get it to go. When I called to place my order it was so loud at the restaurant I was yelling to be heard and got so frustrated I hung up. Went to the location to order and it wasn't very busy, but the music was so loud I couldn't hardly even order at the place. I am deaf in one ear so it made it so challenging. First they were completely out of Brisket and out of potato salad. Well we both loved the sample of turkey at the Lebanon Location and decided two Turkey Platters. I also got a half rack of ribs to go. With all the bad vibes I should have just called it quits and found a different restaurant. The Turkey was the pressed together kind like lunch meat, pieces all pr seed into a shape and sliced. It was just absolutely gross and neither of us ate it. I looked up and saw she wasn't eating it either and we both side why is it so different than the first time? What a bait and switch. For the price point getting not an actual Turkey breast but this gross stuff was deeply disappointing. We won't be going back to this location. After the experience at the Lebanon location I wanted to try the ribs. The ribs are not fall all the bone and not super tender. They did have amazing flavor. No sauce needed. A little more time in the smoker for fall off the bone, but the flavor was perfect and incredibly tasty. I wouldn't go out of my way to order them. The beans were different as well. They Lebanon location had like pulled pork in the beans. These had nothing. This must not be the best location. I only got pictures of the Ribs, I was so disappointed in the turkey I tossed it before pictures as it was just wrong. I am not a fan of glued together meat. BBQ is meant to be real meat and this location needs to visit the Lebanon Location and get with the program of great BBQ. Cheers to Edley's!!! We were stayng at an AirBnB nearby and had quite a large group so finding a walk in dinner spot was nearly impossible but Edley's was literally perfect! We came by on a Saturday around 5-6PM and we were able to get a large table for our group and the service was fast and efficient! This was the most hands-off restaurant experience I've ever encountered. When my friend and I walked in we weren't greeted by anyone. After sitting at a table for a few minutes I went to ask someone how we ordered. She said "you can order at the bar." I stopped by Edley's Barbecue while on a solo trip to Nashville and had a great experience. I sat at the bar and met Leon, who was incredibly kind and helpful, and he even gave me free drinks and samples, as it was a sad day for me. They were sold out of their secret fried barbecue ribs, but I tried the burnt ends with greens, plus an extra helping on the house. I do love me some Edley's! This location at the corner of Woodland and 10th in East Nashville/Five Points has a solid vibe and is a good spot for lunch or dinner. A few of my go-to favorites here are the burnt ends, cornbread, and the grits casserole. That grit casserole is an absolute must each time we visit! The greens are good as well, but they pack a punch with the heat, unexpectedly...you have been warned! The pulled chicken sandwich is also a household favorite. But nothing on the menu beats those burnt ends on grits casserole. We had all of above on our recent visit, plus the macaroni and cheese. However, I have to admit, I was a little disappointed in the mac and cheese, as it was a bit underwhelming and very loose in texture. Additionally, the sweet tea, which is normally a favorite, didn't hit the mark this time. It wasn't sweet at all, and honestly, it was just not good. I actually thought I had accidentally gotten unsweet tea, but nope, it was just off. Parking can be tricky in this area, but there are several lots and street parking nearby. Service is limited given the counter ordering and self serve drink station. The cashier was friendly and helpful, and the food runners were nice. Overall, we are fans of Edley's! We frequent the Donelson location a bit more, but this is a solid option when in the Five Points area. read more

We were in Nashville for one of ours birthday weekend & found it an extreme hassle to park anywhere downtown just to get to Main St. We found this nice, urbanized section not too far from the ruckus and decided on BBQ while there. The food wait was about 10-12 mins (which is good because that means it's fresh) and there was a moderate crowd when we arrived. Fiancé had the brisket sandwich and it was great (we both steal each others' food) with Mac & cheese and slaw. I had the jalapeño smoked sausage with hot chicken strips, cornbread, Mac & cheese, slaw, and grits casserole. Can you tell whose birthday it was? Everything on my plate was on the money, but the real winner was the jalapeño sausage and the grits casserole. The jalapeño sausage had a Gouda/American style cheese inside of it on top of the grilled and light spice that it had. This was a heavenly mix. The grits casserole was so good. The grits were perfectly cooked and melted in my mouth. So all in all our main dishes were 5/5. But those BBQ nachos? 6/5 They're fries with smoked chicken meat, white sauce, cheese, sour cream (iirc), green onions, tomatoes (yucky but still consumed because it was so good), and bbq sauce. Our experience was amazing! We aren't from around here so we decided to try this place and it was worth it. We ordered the brisket platter and the hot chicken tenders. The brisket was super good according to my mom. My chicken tenders were the best hot chicken I had on this trip. I loved the jalapeño ranch on top of them (just don't touch your eyes....) We both got banana pudding and mac and cheese. Once again mac and cheese was the best we had. I got their signature tea I believe it was from the bar. It was pink and normally made with rum but I did vodka. That was super good as well! Food came out quick and the bartender was super nice. The ribs were my favorite of the meats. They were very soft with a moderate sized bark and plenty of sauce. Sides here were superb! We shared the grits casserole, baked beans, potato salad, and the coleslaw. The grits casserole was one of the most complex takes on grits and a pint could be it's own meal. Edleys is one of my all time favorite bbq spots! We used to have one in Lexington KY for a brief period of time before the pandemic wreaked havoc and caused ours to close. Unfortunately for us we no longer have one in town and must busy Nashville to have this wonderfully delicious bbq. We decided to stop at Edley's on our way home from Nashville this week and decided to get a couple pounds of pulled pork and Mac and cheese to have for some meals at home this week. It came out hot and fresh and tightly wrapped to seal in the freshness. I cant wait to enjoy it when we get home. From past experience I know this will not disappoint. This was my first visit to the east neighborhood location and it's a little confusing to find. We were not sure on parking so my husband waited in the car while I ran in. I noticed when I was ordering they do validate parking at 1000 woodland for up to 1.5hrs. You scan the QR code at the register to do this. We will keep this in mind for next time. One of our favorite BBQ joints in East Nashville. The pulled pork is competition-grade goodness: Smoky, lean but juicy, and seasoned just-so. The brisket is done perfectly with that smoke ring you look for in a product that's been lovingly cared for in the smoker. I had catfish tacos (I know, I know....) and they were (ahem) "The best catfish tacos I've ever had in a Bar-b-Que joint." The catfish was tasty, battered in a light, crispy shell. But, as a Mexicano myself, the tortilla was a letdown and there was way too much "secret sauce" that made the tacos a little "wet" to eat. To finish, we split an order of banana pudding and this alone is worth a return trip to Edley's! We choose a family style platter with brisket, pulled pork, 1/2 slab of ribs, macaroni x 2, green beans, Cole slaw, banana Pudding. Added two desserts. Meats were great! Prepared nicely. Meat fell off bone. Mac was also great. Coleslaw was dry...never had slaw at a BBQ spot be dry. It didn't get ate. Sweet tea was very southern & I loved it. Loved that they have crushed ice! Place seems to stay busy but we arrived for dinner before the rush. Cashier patient & friendly. I recall table was not throughly clean we when sat & gender neutral bathroom needed attention. I've been to Edley's many times over the last 2 years... I'll say that the one in East Nashville just does it better than the one in 12 South. I find the one in 12 south always tends to have brisket on the drier side. As other reviews mention, Edley's is not only a tourist spot, but it is definitely a local spot. After a long day of traveling I was in need of some yummy dinner. Just got into town for work and found this place on yelp, close to our Air BNB and it's BBQ, sounds perfect. I don't know that I had any expectations because I've never been to Tennessee, I've only really had Texas BBQ. This was pretty close to Texas. The brisket was good, sauces were excellent, Mac and cheese was quite possibly the best I've ever had. Beans were really good, more savory than sweet which I liked. Hot links were decent. If I had to give any feedback it would be portion size. My 2 sides were an additional $4 on top of the $12 sandwich. Plus $10 for the hot links. I think it's mostly just prices these days being outrageous but this was over $30 just for myself! And the Mac and cheese was so good, I want more than a shot glass of it!! All in all it was very good and I'd go back. Laid back atmosphere, we went on a Sunday night, people were there but it wasn't busy, numerous tables to choose from.
