Ordered a combo plate with sides that they helped confirm were dairy free. The cornbread is not, but cannot be substituted for anything else. Ask the cashier for the allergy menu! In both cases, the meats I got were best consumed when freshly served, before the fat coagulated and left them slightly dry and chewy. Dig in quickly! This is especially true for the pulled pork, which started off already on the stringy side, but had good richness and peppery flavor. The bbq sauce on the pork was too sweet for me, so had to drown it in the ghost pepper bbq sauce, which is not spicy at all, for both flavor and texture. Unfortunately, this took away from the bbq meat experience and turned it into a bbq sauce one. (3/5) The brisket also started off tender but slightly dry, other than the sinfully fatty bits on the end that pack most the flavor. The sauce tasted less sweet, whether due to combination of flavor or actual difference in sauce, but managed to avoid adding additional sauce to enjoy the seasoned brisket more. (3/5) The collard greens were fair, albeit salty. Lightly smoky meatiness offset by the fibrous but tender greens. (3/5) The baked beans were sweet for my taste but the flavor of the onion and bell peppers helped. (2.5/5) Didn't have to eat the cornbread to tell how almost inedibly dry and painfully hard it was. Ive lived in nashville for three years. I went to Edley's right when I moved here and then not for a while. I found myself at Edleys twice in the past week! I had a friend in town so of course had to show her the iconic bushwhacker and where else to get one than Edleys. They offer a small or large size which is very ideal! I got the burnt ends plate and my friend got the brisket Sandwhich. We both loved our meals. I didn't even realize my burnt ends came with the best cheesy grits in the world. They had it set up and the whole event went off with no issues from them because of their excellent team. The food was definitely enjoyable. I tried a bit of everything and it was all spot on. The proteins were all great. The sides were great, as well, and the banana pudding was a great way to end the meal. Edley's Bar-B-Que has grown significantly in the Nashville, Tennessee area since then first opened their first location back in 2011. In the twelve years since, they have expanded to nine locations, including a location in Chattanooga, Tennessee. It is easy to see why they have prospered and grown so much once you taste their food. Came the Edley's while we visited Nashville. Got the smoker sampler for take out. The ordering experience was easy, simply place your order online, checkout process was easy as well. Process for pick up was quick and easy. The interior of the restaurant was typical for any bbq joint, but this had a bit of a dive bar feel as well. For the sampler we got brisket, ribs, and sausage. Best was the sausage, super juicy and flavorful. The brisket somewhat lacked in comparison. While it was not tough but definitely not the most tender of briskets that I've tried at other barbecues. Ribs were cooked well, fall off the bone and were well seasoned. Definitely get their green beans and corn bread. Both were wonderful. Finished off the meal with banana pudding which was absolutely delicious, may have been my favorite next to the sausage. Would 10/10 recommend especially if you're in the mood for some solid bbq. read more

Stopped by to enjoy some BBQ while in the area. Ordered several items between my wife and I and the best thing I had was smoked wings Nashville style. Their tri-bbq platter had 3 different meats - sliced brisket (very fatty), pulled pork & pulled chicken. I wasn't a fan of any of it (had better pulled pork at Buccees on the way to Nashville. Their BBQ sauce at the table had a nice kick to it though so I needed to use it to try to enjoy the platter. As far as sides - Mac n cheese, baked beans, bean salad & Cole slaw were all just OK. As you walk in, you place your food order with the dining staff at the front counter, they assign your table number, then you head over to the bar to order drinks before you settle into a dining table of your choice. There are tv monitors throughout the restaurant and seating areas around the bar, kitchen, or just off the beaten path. The noise level is average and atmosphere seemed fun and welcoming. The service was excellent and the place is well maintained. The staff work hard to keep the dining areas clean and ready for the next guest. The food was delicious!! Really good BBQ!!! I was headed downtown to another place but the line was 3 people thick and 50 feet out the door. So at the recommendation of a local friend I headed to Edley's. Boy am I happy I did! I ordered the brisket plate with Cole slaw and grits. Everything was amazing! I like my brisket moist/fatty. They served it up to perfection! Good bark on it and the meat melted in my mouth. Life doesn't get any better than that! The meat is drizzled with their house BBQ sauce and topped with 3 pickle slices. The BBQ sauce was very good. I might buy a bottle next time I'm in town and check my suitcase. The plate was served with cornbread (a little dry for my taste) and 2 sides. The Cole slaw has got to be one of the best I have ever had! It is vinegar based, not Mayo. That's just how I like it. Great tangy and fresh crispness in the bite. I actually drank the rest of the vinegar after I finished the slaw. It was THAT good! I also tried the grits. I was torn between the grits and the baked beans. OMG, the grits were amazing. So good, not too cheesy, and great flavors. I usually add Tabasco to my grits. Didn't need to add anything to these. I also grabbed a brownie cake for dessert. Boy was it rich. It was a probably 3 or 4 inch squared piece and I couldn't finish it. Defiantly good size to share. Cool atmosphere that definitely gives you the feeling of being in a barbecue joint, without the lasting scent in your clothes. Quite a few TVs around if you want to watch a game. Decent size bar as well as patio seating. It's order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Service was very friendly and one of the guys was very attentive. The Catfish Taco was INCREDIBLE - my favorite entree we tried on the tour! It was perfectly crispy, delectable at every bite, and the cole slaw on top was perfectly tangy. The Banana Pudding was incredible, too. I'm personally not a big fan of banana pudding, but I found it to be perfectly sweet! It was the perfect balance of vanilla and banana flavor. The ribs were out of this world. The meat was tender and juicy and fell off the bone. I had BBQ several times throughout my road trip of the south and these were my favorite. Truly so good! I found a spot after a few minutes, and was able to run inside and pick up my order. The interior was casual and comforting - exactly what you'd expect from a barbecue joint. It seemed like there was a wide variety of people dining in - everyone from families with kids to groups of friends sitting at the bar sipping on brews after a long day at work. There is a separate pick-up counter, which is always a plus when visiting such a popular dining destination. The staff member sitting there was so friendly - and made sure to double check the already packaged food to ensure I'd received all of my sauces and sides. I ordered a little bit of everything so we could taste as much as possible! The Nashville Hot Links were hands-down my favorite thing we tried - combining spicy, sweet, and smokey flavors for the perfect bite of BBQ. I also liked the pulled chicken, especially when topped with their "Viola Sauce." Of the sides we tried, the Baked Beans stood out, followed closely by the Green Beans. It was dry, which is a huge no no. The potato salad was good though. The skillet corn was interesting with tidbits of some sort of meat? Legit crumbly cornbread. We opted for something different for dessert and got the chess pie. It was like a lemon bar without the lemon. We liked it. The food was really great, but we waited an hour and a half for our food. Most of it was coming out wrong, and multiple people came back to cross reference our order and correct food. They even corrected food and brought out the wrong items again. A lack of communication and poor management (or maybe no management?) was clear. Seems like the kind employees were set up to fail. They were out of chicken, catfish, and brisket, which would have been fine if we had gotten any semblance of good service. They let us order turkey, then came back later and said they were out of that as well. The place itself was not that packed and/or busy which might've made more sense. They refunded us for three of our meals that got more messed up over the others. They gave us all free dessert so one more star for that. I really think they should've refunded everything. The great food isn't worth the experience we had. Really sad for Edley's as they are a Nashville staple. read more

Some things have changed at Edley's, and not for the better. Our last visits have been soured by cold food, a bar tender more interested in chatting with his friends and a dirty bathroom. My friends and I came here on Sunday 8/31, for my birthday dinner. I love a good Brisket, and this place did not disappoint. I will say that it was a bit odd to order first and then be seated. I was expecting to be waited on and have a waiter/waitress, but it was not a huge disappointment. They were out of regular brisket, so we had to do the Wagyu one for $4 dollars, which I would say I did not really taste a difference. I got the brisket platter with mac and cheese and the banana pudding as my sides. It was very delicious, and the banana pudding was very savory; I could have had 10 more of those little cups, but I did not. I can see why the locals say this is the best BBQ around; it definitely lives up to its name. I did not get to take pictures since we were all hungry and just excited to try the food. I do like how it was able to accommodate the group of 8 people + a baby that came along. I wish the booster seat had straps to it since we were sitting at a high top table, but it did not make or break our experience. I was extremely disappointed. The quality control has been off my last few orders from here and that's a management issue. Anyway, back to today, the slaw was too peppery. The Mac/cheese was also too peppery and Karen-ish bland. Catfish fillets had too much breading and two pieces were undercooked. Looks like it's time to find a replacement. read more
